Feed puppies 1 1/2 - 3 months old twice the adult amount. Feed puppies 3 - 6 months old 1 1/2 times the adult amount. Feed puppies 6 - 11 months old 1 1/4 times the adult amount. During gestation increase the feeding 25 to 50 percent. During lactation offer free-choice feeding.

Serve dry or lightly moistened. To help maintain freshness, seal the bag tightly, and store it in a cool, dry location.

Transition Instructions

If you are already feeding ACANA and you’re introducing new ACANA Regionals, mix the 2 foods about 50-50 for a day or two for easy transition. However, if your dog has a history of digestive sensitivities we recommend that you do a transition over 5-7 days.

If you are new to ACANA, we recommend that you provide a full transition period for your dog. Introduce ACANA Regionals slowly; start out with 25% of the new food and 75% of the old. Over a period of 7 days, gradually increase the amount of new food until you are feeding 100% ACANA.

  • The best Acana variety!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My boxer has had several Acana dog food varieties and was OK with the food. Well I was awarded a free bag of Acana after purchasing 12 bags (just contact support to redeem), they said any variety I want, so I tried this expensive Appalachian Ranch formula. Boy am I glad I did! He gobbles down this food, no more coaxing him to eat. I babysit a puppy boxer and she has been gobbling down this food too and her daddy has now switched her over to Appalachian Ranch, he said her poops are now normal. And a big bonus, my dogs breath does not stink anymore! He has had bad breath since 8 weeks old, no matter what food I have fed him. Now mommy enjoys "stink free" kisses.

  • Helped my allergic Dog

    By on

My bull mastiff has allergies and he is still 8 months so we have not been able to do a panel yet. But tried several premier brands and now think it is chicken (we never gave him food with grain). He has soft stools for months while on the other brands and "Orijen Acana Regionals Appalachian Ranch" turned his poop back into normal within 2 days. I know it is pricey, but SO worth it in my opinion!

  • 4 picky eaters really enjoy the Acana brand

    By on

I purchased 3 flavors to try and all 4 of my dogs like it. The wild Atlantic and Appalachian ranch r their favorites but the like the chicken too. 2 of my dogs have wheat allergies and environmental allergies. So far everyone is doing well on this food and they all like it, which is a task in itself. Thank you and Acana

My yorkie loves this. I have tried two other "premier" foods.Nothing comparable to this.I love that there is nothing in it that isn't good for him. Yes it cost a little more but way worth it. Love chewy, too!

  • Finicky Min-Pin

    By on

Well, not any more. My little girl loves Acana and I would not jeopardize her health by feeding her anything other than the best. She was recently at the vets office for her annual checkup and the vet said her weight, teeth, coat, eyes were amazing. She inquired what I was feeding her and I told her Acana. She then stated "that explains it". I am committed to my baby and give Acana 5+ stars.

  • Price Worthy

    By on

After feeding several well known brands and not happy, I decided to try this brand. Although it is a bit pricey the quality far exceeds that and quality is what I am interested in. So far the girls are happy with it, just wish it were available in smaller bite size or would soften more with hot water added. Glad I tried the food and especially glad I gave Chewy a try. I will recommend Chewy to everyone.

  • Great change/addition to normal food

    By on

We had been feeding our dog the ACANA Heritage Poultry food. He seemed to be getting bored with it, so we added this to the mix. He seems to like it better. I research his food thoroughly, and like the ACANA brand.

  • Brand I trust

    By on

Anyone who has seen "Pet Fooled" knows there are a number of unscrupulous suppliers of pet food that spend more on advertising than they do on the quality of their products. Is Acana more expensive? Yes it is. But what's even more costly are the consequences of feeding your dog junk. We supplement our dogs' diet with whole foods as well -- chicken and vegetables. But Acana is our go to for a consistent, balanced diet that contributes to the health of our pack. And Chewy is awesome!
