Rated 1 out of 5 by Formula change is problematic for us My two dogs (one allergic to chicken, grain, potato, and some fish) were doing great on "Ranchlands" for the last year until the formula change to "Appalachian Ranch" around June/July 2016. It's nice that they're switching to local ingredients but unfortunately it didn't sit well with my dogs. The new formula gave them loose stool, occasional diarrhea, itchy skin, and an ear infection. I gave it a shot for two months but they only got worse. For the last month and a half I've tried out some other brands and am currently very happy with Taste of the Wild's Pine Forest. I hope Acana is reading these reviews and will consider making a revision, I'd be willing to try it out again, at least to rotate with TotW. October 4, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very Shocked My 2 labs have been on Ranchlands for two years. My chocolate lab has severe allergies. They were doing great. I didn't realize that Acana changed the formula. Added PORK!!!! Are you crazy!!!! Now I understand why both labs have diarrhea and are throwing up a lot. So Sad. How could you do this to my babies??? Don't know if I will continue any food with Acana again. Go back to making my own dog food. September 28, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by New formula We loved the old formula, Ranchlands. I've been buying it for my dogs for the last 3 years and they were doing great. The new formula is totally different, plus they have added pork. I understand they wanted to start producing their products in US, not Canada, but why in the world have they changed their formulas so drastically?! October 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good dogfood! One of our 3 dogs has food sensitivity issues. Trying to find dog food with no chicken or poultry in it is not the easiest things to do. ACANA as a whole is a good food that our dogs and cats do well on. We had gotten away from ACANA for a short while, and our new kittens did not seem to thrive in the same way as had our previous litters. Once we got back to ACANA dog & cat food our animals seem to look and feel healthier. Our pyrenees has made a dramatic come back. September 25, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Changed formula My 3 and a half year old boxer has enjoyed this food for the last couple of years. However, recently they changed the Ranchlands formula. Apparently they are no longer making the food in Canada and are making it in USA now. He got sick off of new Appalachian ranch formula, I found a bag of Ranchlands and put him back on while I tried another flavor. He has had loose stools for a month. I tried the lamb and apple and he broke out in hives. Super bummed. Might just be my dogs sensitive stomach. The people at Chewy have been amazing and super helpful- I will continue to order thorough this website - just different food. September 8, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sad about the formula change My dog used to do great on the old formula. The new formula has made the uh...output go from textbook perfect to pile of mush. He also has a few sensitivities and it took us a year to figure those out. Back to the drawing board I guess September 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome food Love this food! Highest quality ingredients! Dogs love it! Worth the money! September 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Positive change in our older dog with this food. Our GSDs have always had higher end food with no meal or gluten. Our 11year old male is more active and awake once we went to this food. He always cleans his bowl and wants more, so I know the taste is highly palatable. We highly recommended this food!
