Rated 5 out of 5 by Mick Excellent Ingredients
We were feeding Earthborn Primitive Natural. It was the best ingredients for the price. It does have potatoes which is nothing but a fattening ingredient but still a very good dog food. We have started the switch. This is excellent ingredients and food. The only one that may be better is Orijen at a much higher price. We have 4 dogs all over 50 pounds. It is expensive but hopefully they will not eat as much and lose a little weight in the process. If you can't afford this brand, I would recommend the Earthborn. But only the Primitive Natural. Let me add that Acana does have a frequent buyer program on Chewy. You just have to ask them about it and let them know when you have purchased 12 bags in a 2 year span. Earthborn also has coupons they send every month and Chewy may have a program for them if you ask. So far the dogs love this food. But they will eat anything. I am feeding the cats Acana also and they will not touch anything else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Labralound Bring back Wild Prairie
Been feed my Black Lab Wild Prairie for some time now....like most anything else I put in his bowl....he vacuumed it up....Labs love their grub!
Not this new Meadowland though.
Like a lot of folks on here, this change was made for us, as it seems Acana has decided to drop the old formula and, based on my dogs reaction, replaced it with something not nearly as good.
I was lucky enough to have ~1/2 a bag of the Wild Prairie left when this new formula arrived so I was able to 'break him in' on this new food. Started with less than a 1/4 cup of the Meadowland added to the Wild Prairie...maybe he ate a little slower than usual, but not too much of an issue. As the ratio of Meadowland increased I noticed him increasingly less interested when I put down his bowl.
He still gets super excited when he knows its feeding time....so I know he's looking forward to food. Just not this food it seems.
Now I am up to 1/2 Wild Prairie + 1/2 Meadowland....and my Lab...a complete belly boy...walks away after a couple of nibbles at it.
Canceling my order for this food and go looking elsewhere. Never had this kind of reaction from him with any food.
Very disappointed in Acana.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mel27 Acana used to be a great food
I've been feeding Acana Wild Prairie since I got my dogs as puppies, but the recent changes have me looking for a new brand. I emailed Acana for clarification on some of the information given to me via the chat option about the new ingredient percentages. Customer service contacted me twice to say that they were getting the information together to share, but I never got a response. Their FB page directs you to email their customer service, from whom you get no answer, and your comments and concerns on their page are deleted.
Chewy's customer service means I will be searching for a replacement through them. I missed an email that I would be getting a shipment of the new Acana formula, so I contacted Chewy and they immediately sent me a return label without any problems. Keep up the good work Chewy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Zarara Wild Prairie was great, Meadowland doesn't measure up!
Acana, this sucks. I've served my dog nothing but Acana since the day I brought her home. But this new formula substitutes dense, high-quality animal protein for "fresh" (meaning mostly water) animal meat and making up for the difference with cheap veggies. While a move from a Canadian base to a Kentucky base was bound to bring some changes, this is no longer a valuable product for your loyal customer base. Chewy should also be careful pushing this "new" formula, telling customers that it is the same quality, ingredients, and calorie content as the old formula. Just check the comparison in serving amounts necessary to maintain the same calories for your dog's weight/activity level for yourself. It's a quick indicator of what's happening here. While this is still better than so many junk brands found in massive pet stores nowadays, this change sent me shopping for a new brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Persimfans Loved Wild Prairie, but not impressed with this
My dog is obsessed with food and always has been. He spends 90% of his waking hours trying to figure out how to get more food in his face, and he can and will vacuum up his meals in less than ten seconds.
So what does it say about this "replacement" for his beloved Wild Prairie that he is now slowly eating and leaving part of each meal unfinished? A friend feeds her dog the same food, and she reports a similar reaction from her dog following the change.
Added to his lack of enthusiasm for this new formulation is my lack of enthusiasm for the significantly reduced bag size. I have always been happy to pay for quality, but having to buy a new bag two to three weeks sooner than with Wild Prairie is pricing this line out of my budget.
Not well done, Acana. Not well done at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by WRG8 bad move, Acana
I feel like I have been suckerpunched by Acana. Our dogs (bichons) were thriving on Wild Prairie Regional. This new formula was sprung on us with no notice. There was very little of the Wild Prairie left, so it was like changing brands cold turkey. One bichon won't eat the new formula unless he is starved. It makes the other sick, puking and loose bowels. I'm off to the local boutique pet store to look for a quality dry food. I have been pleased with Chewy's service but, at least for now, they've lost my business.
