Feed puppies 1 1/2 - 3 months old twice the adult amount. Feed puppies 3 - 6 months old 1 1/2 times the adult amount. Feed puppies 6 - 11 months old 1 1/4 times the adult amount. During gestation increase the feeding 25 to 50 percent. During lactation offer free-choice feeding.

Serve dry or lightly moistened. To help maintain freshness, seal the bag tightly, and store it in a cool, dry location.

Transition Instructions

If you are already feeding ACANA and you’re introducing new ACANA Regionals, mix the 2 foods about 50-50 for a day or two for easy transition. However, if your dog has a history of digestive sensitivities we recommend that you do a transition over 5 - 7 days.

If you are new to ACANA, we recommend that you provide a full transition period for your dog or cat. Introduce ACANA Regionals slowly; start out with 25% of the new food and 75% of the old. Over a period of 7 days, gradually increase the amount of new food until you are feeding 100% ACANA.

I have a 5 year old black lab. She was fed with Canadae dry food for aproximately 3 years and did ok. Noticed at times the quality of this food would change from bag to bag sometimes having a rancid fat odor. She would also head for the long grasses and graze from time to time. "stomach upset" We switched her food to Acana Meadowland regional grain free. Slowly adapting her to new food over 14 days. She did great. However every now and then she would still head for the long grass though less frequent. Also noticed that her stool amount was a little bit greater. Her breath is terrible.Strong fish smell which is noticable when you open the bag.She does love the taste and noticed her activity pick I have a 5 year old black lab. Bad breath is gone. Stool is 1/2 the amount. Her eyes are brighter and she is even more playful. Our experience with Canadae has not been a good one.I would recommend Acana,(except for the atrocious bad breath it gave our dog),and highly recommend Earthborn Primitive. … more

  • Acana Meadowland

    By on

I have two dogs. My lab mix I feed Orijen Regional Red and my dachshund I feed Acana Meadowland and I've noticed a big difference in these foods. Idk if it's just this specific type of Acana but compared to Orijen this food is very hard, like the kibble from NB or TOTW.. you can't break it with your fingers. There is also a HORRIBLE smell to it that Idk how to describe. I still love both Acana and Orijen, but I might just switch my dachshund to Orijen original after this bag only because Orijen seems to be the standard of quality I'm looking for in a kibble dog food.

Surprised at the quality of ingredients of this food it is perfect for my 80lb german shepherd and also my allergy prone blue heeler. They love this food you can tell the quality put into it just by the bag and smell of the kibbles. Originally bought the heritage line the regional line is even better for the price. Love the 2 day shipping!

  • Annoyed with the purchase but Bulldog loves the food

Purchased Acana Meadowland in response to a coupon offering 50% off next 3 food orders for prior Orijen customers. Coupon was not honored. Why? They say Acana and 6 other brands are sister companies of Orijen so the offer is refused for all of those brands. Annoyed! Puppy seems to love the new food just as much.

I have a very fussy fur son. There are about 2 or 3 foods he will eat without turning his nose up and walking away. Acana I have had EXCELLENT results with all blends!!! It's a good feeling when he actually eats a food that has such excellent ingredients and the best part - ONE THAT YOU CAN TRUST!

  • Great quality food

After we lost our other dog last year from a lot of health issues we decided when we got a new dog that we would do things differently. We have done A TON OF HOMEWORK on food and treats and ingredients. We decided that we wanted to go with not only grain free but something with a lot of protein. After a lot of research we decided to go with Acana brand. This is the second flavor we have tried and the pups love it and have had no side effects.

  • Great Quality Grain Free Dog Food

My Lab and my QH have been on this diet exclusively for several years. They're extremely active six and five year olds and hike daily. They're trim and get frequent comments on their coats. Get it from Chewey! Two day from order to front door. Good job. Thanks.

  • Meadowland Regional Formula

This dry food for dog is okay. I rated it a 4 star because it delivers quality overall. It is an evarage high quality food however, my dogs did not seem to crazy about it. One thing I did notice is that the fur on them was not as shiny on them as other dry food I have tried. I am not going to sugar coat things.

This food is above par over other similarly-marketed brands. Almost no yard waste and I can switch new dogs over quickly with no worries.

  • My Dog loves Acana, but not this formula

    By on

To offer my Havanese dog some variety I ordered the Acana Meadowland Formula for her. She does not like it at all! To try to get her to eat it, I started to offer this food to her in the morning when she is most hungry. She still wouldn't eat it. To coax her further, I added crushed Instinct rawboost mixers -- her all time favorite treat. Still NO Go. She would go all day without eating. I have finally acknowledged defeat. She wins! From now on she gets her Acana Lamb and Apple and Chicken Formulas which she dearly loves. I plan to donate the 13 lb bag of Meadowland to a local shelter. May they have more success getting their dogs to eat it......
