Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Ingredients We were feeding Earthborn Primitive Natural. It was the best ingredients for the price. It does have potatoes which is nothing but a fattening ingredient but still a very good dog food. We have started the switch. This is excellent ingredients and food. The only one that may be better is Orijen at a much higher price. We have 4 dogs all over 50 pounds. It is expensive but hopefully they will not eat as much and lose a little weight in the process. If you can't afford this brand, I would recommend the Earthborn. But only the Primitive Natural. Let me add that Acana does have a frequent buyer program on Chewy. You just have to ask them about it and let them know when you have purchased 12 bags in a 2 year span. Earthborn also has coupons they send every month and Chewy may have a program for them if you ask. So far the dogs love this food. But they will eat anything. I am feeding the cats Acana also and they will not touch anything else. July 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wild Prairie was great, Meadowland doesn't measure up! Acana, this sucks. I've served my dog nothing but Acana since the day I brought her home. But this new formula substitutes dense, high-quality animal protein for "fresh" (meaning mostly water) animal meat and making up for the difference with cheap veggies. While a move from a Canadian base to a Kentucky base was bound to bring some changes, this is no longer a valuable product for your loyal customer base. Chewy should also be careful pushing this "new" formula, telling customers that it is the same quality, ingredients, and calorie content as the old formula. Just check the comparison in serving amounts necessary to maintain the same calories for your dog's weight/activity level for yourself. It's a quick indicator of what's happening here. While this is still better than so many junk brands found in massive pet stores nowadays, this change sent me shopping for a new brand. July 10, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by My babies do not like this food Had my boys on Acana Wild prairie for quite a while. Since they stopped making it Acana said that Meadowlands is the same. Apparently not . My dogs refuse to eat this. Now I will have to look for something else to feed them. It really gets my goat when companies do this. I Will no longer by this brand of dog food. July 25, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Change causing stomach problems for my kids I have been feeding my 2 small dogs the Wild Prairie food for 4 years now - they have been healthy and without a single problem. I recently ordered Meadowlands assuming it was just a name change and didn't check that the ingredients might have changed. Since I made the change my dogs are not well. Their stools have a runny consistency, they have gas for the first time and I keep finding them looking for grass to eat outside. I came back here looking for the Wild Prairie in case I missed something and found all these reviews, so did some homework. Please bring back the old solution for the sake of the kids! July 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Food My pup loves this food. I combine it with a nupro supplement powder (also on chewy) and he goes nuts. I've never seen a pup so healthy. We will continue to buy ACANA Meadowland and might venture to their other flavors! July 24, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Was a quality food before being manufactured in the US New formula is deboned chicken and turkey = water , the chicken and turkey meal removed = quality gone. Price has gone up , quality has gone down. July 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality dog food i used to feed my dog Blue buffalo wilderness since he was a puppy and i found out there are couple recall on wilderness line and i didn't felt safe anymore as i started exploring more about blue buffalo and i couldn't find where there protein source is from and not able to get that info anywhere. so i started looking for some trusted good quality dog food and going through lot of reviews and feedback & recommendation about champion food brand i discussed to try one of there products. so i choose ACANA and it was good and our dog like it. so i would recommend this dog food if you are looking for new dog food to try. Rated 2 out of 5 by Wild Prarie Formula Change I have been feeding my Lab/mix, the Wild Prarie formula for about five years. He loves it! I was reading the current reviews regarding Acana changing formulas. Why? I'm switching brands. This is an expensive dog food and if they are going to add less chicken and turkey and more fillers like beans, it's not worth the price. My dog is gassy enough without adding beans. Maybe I'll switch to that other Canadian brand. July 2, 2016
