  • Using scissors, cut the pouch across the top and remove tube.

How to apply:

  • Remove one applicator tube from the package.
  • Hold applicator tube in an upright position facing away from you and your pet‘s face and eyes. Pull cap off tube.
  • Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube.
  • Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
  • The dogs should be standing for easy application. Apply the entire contents of the tube evenly on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin. • Discard empty tube.
  • Under normal conditions the product is effective for a month. However, in case of severe flea infestation, retreatment may be necessary earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 7 days. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Advantage Topical Solution and Advantage II?

We have added an insect growth regulator, pyriproxyfen, to Advantage II.

What is an insect growth regulator (IGR)?

An IGR, such as pyriproxyfen, inhibits the development of flea eggs. It also offers additional larvicidal properties when compared with imidacloprid alone.

How does pyriproxyfen work?

Pyriproxyfen mimics the juvenile growth hormone of fleas. This hormone prevents immature flea stages from molting into the next stage of the life cycle and keeps them from developing into adult fleas.

Why is it important to use a product with an IGR?

With an IGR as part of your flea control, the flea life cycle is disrupted at multiple stages through different active ingredients and modes of action. This is often referred to as integrated flea control (IFC). The addition of an IGR to Advantage II adds larvicidal and ovicidal properties to target flea infestations and kill all flea life stages.

Is Advantage II waterproof?

Yes, there is no need to reapply the product after weekly swimming or a bath. For best results, use a non-detergent shampoo.

Customer Reviews

Advantage II Flea Treatment for Medium Dogs 11-20 lbs is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great products Great Company. I have been purchasing this from my vet. Why I have not thought to add this to my autoship is beyond me. I pay $36.00 a month at the vets office for a months treatment for my 2 babies. I ordered a 3 month supply for them for $52.00. from my favorite pet supply Chewy.com I have been using this company and the excellent services they render for 3 years now. I recommend them to everyone i know that has pets/babies of their own. Just got my yearly Christmas card and enjoy the thoughtfulness expressed each year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working well Switched to Advantage II from Frontline Plus that I had been using for years. I personally think that the fleas have built up a resistance to the active ingredients in Frontline Plus because it used to work well, but recently seemed to have little affect. Of course no one topical is going to take care of an infestation. You will still see fleas on your pet unless you do a total regiment of treating the yard, bedding and carpeting. At a minimum bedding must be washed and floors vacuumed regularly. If you bath and treat your pet, and then they go lay down on bedding infested with fleas...well you can bet you will see fleas on your pet. I used Advantage II on my 5 dogs ranging in weight from 6 to 22 lbs with no adverse reactions, which is just as important to me as how well the product works. I have to buy two different doses due to the weight range of my dogs. Be sure to use the right dosage for the dogs weight of course. So far working well, have seen a drastic reduction in active fleas on my dogs. Of course when using any kind of flea prevention (aka: pesticide) research risks, as well as benefits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best flea control I've used on my dogs When no other flea control worked, this is the one that does. I've been buying it for a few years and it's still working great. The dogs haven't had any problems with it such as getting sick or sores at the application site. It's the only kind I buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! I have used Advantage for five years and it keeps the fleas away. My dogs don't like to swallow the flea pills from the vet, so we needed a reliable topical flea treatment. Advantage fits the bill.
