About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

  • So far so good

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My doberman was having pretty loose stools so figure I would try a different food. He loved Dr. Tim's All Life Stages he was on, but switched to Blue Buffalo to see if it made a difference and it did. His stool has formed now. Not sure if he is as crazy about this as Dr. Tim's even though it is the same flavor, still in the process of switching him over slowly. He is not inhaling his food as before so not sure if it is the new food, or he is just growing up and taking his time. I will know for sure after the total switch as to if he will continue to eat it but for now seems fine.

  • Stinky Gas

    By on

Our 6 month old puppy really enjoys this and looks forward to eating. Unfortunately, we don't look forward to the horrible gas it causes. We are hoping he just needs more time to adjust to it, but we aren't sure if we are going to stick with this food. It is nice to seem him excited about eating as in the past he seemed bored and uninterested in his food. Stool seems fine.

  • healthy pup and shiny coat

    By on

My pup was originally on a very low quality food and did fine. I made the choice to switch her to Blue after she had to have surgery to remove a rock she decided to eat. So I thought she needed something with quality ingredients to help her recover (she lost 6 pounds in the hospital because she refused to eat). Blue helped her gain the weight back at a steady pace and her coat is so much softer. The kibble is also a smaller size compared to other large breed dog brands which is nice because sometimes she'll eat so fast she doesn't chew fully. The food is more expensive but worth it.

  • Glad I found large breed puppy food

    By on

Been feeding blue buffalo to my boxer pup sence I got him. Only puppy food I could get in my rural area was for all puppys. The kibble is small and that was great when he was a month or two old, now he is 7 months old. He would spill the bowl of the small kibble before he would eat it. Now he just eats it for the bowl and limits the mess he make when he eats, but boxers are messy eaters so there is still a mess when he eats. LOVE BLUE BUFFALO DOG FOOD.

  • Too Rich for a Sensitive Pup

    By on

Our chocolate lab puppy of 10 months was on Blue Buffalo for the past several months. We loved the idea of the all natural ingredients, and he loved the taste. Since he's been on Blue Buffalo, his bowels were always very soft and runny. After a while, he started to turn his nose up at it as well. We decided to try another brand and switch to lamb instead of chicken since many labs end up having a sensitivity to chicken. Since the switch, his appetite has been back, and his bowels have been much better. We love Blue Buffalo, but it just wasn't right for our pup.

We have a bullmastiff puppy who is 5 months and HOT doggie, this food gave him gas. Gas that was loud and cleared our entire room. Switched to another brand and the gas went away immediately.

  • My puppies love!

    By on

My two 15 week old black lab/ husky puppies love this food. They eat less with this brand then purina puppy chow. Even though it's more expensive food they eat less and poop way less then puppy chow so the price is worth it in the end. I also like that's it's 10 dollars cheaper then in the pet store and it's delivered right to my door!

  • The best dog food ever!!!

    By on

My mastiff turns 7 on Christmas Eve. Before trying the blue buffalo large breed food with her, she would lay around and sleep all the time.. When we switched her food to blue buffalo she started acting like a puppy again! She was running around everywhere getting into things and trying to play keep away. Lol it's like we are back to puppyhood! I love it to see my baby have some spunk back in her behaviors. This food is great and recommend it to all dog owners!!

  • Great dog food for my growing puppy

    By on

My puppy of 4-5 months, a german shepherd was not eating her food as quickly before. I was forced to mix her dry food with some wet food for her to have an appetite, which gave her soft stool. Once I switched to Blue Buffalo dog food, I have never seen my dog been so fast at eating once presented her bowl. My dog has kept a strong consistency in her preference in this kind of food, with a more firmer stool!

  • Excellent Choice

This is the fourth food I have tried for my standard size goldendoodle puppy. He started on Royal Canin Golden Retriever Puppy, switched to Taste of the Wild Grain Free Puppy and then to Wellness Core Puppy. Now he eats this. I know that everyone says grain free is best, but it seems like the richness/protein/fat content was too much for him. He had soft stools until I switched him I this food. I use dog food review sites and although the grain free foods I had him on were extremely well rated and this is rated on the next best level, I'll take it. It's still a highly recommended food and grain free I guess isn't for everyone. I like that this is still a quality food and has a simple recipe.
