Feed Pregnant Dogs up to 50% more during the last 3 weeks of pregnancy. During Lactation and Puppies up to six months old, require twice the amount of food as an adult dog and they should be fed 3 to 4 times a day. Puppies, six months to a year, twice daily. Senior and Overweight Dogs may be fed a reduced amount, depending on the dog's weight and activity level. The above Daily Feeding Guidelines are a good starting point on the amount of food suggested to be fed on a daily basis. If you feed more than once per day, simply divide the Daily Feeding Guidelines by the amount of times fed per day. Fresh water should be available at all times.

Transition Instructions

We have found that the smoothest transition from one dog food to another is to mix the foods together. When changing to CANIDAE some dogs may do better by making a gradual transition over 7-10 days. Start with 25% of the new food mixed with 75% of the previous diet and gradually increase the new while decreasing the previous until the transition is complete

Canidae Life Stages All Life Stages Formula Dry Dog Food is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 487.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doberman and Pomeranian I have a very active 3 yr old Doberman (what Dobe isn't active?) and a 7 yr old Pom. The small kibble of this food allows me to feed it to both of them. They've now been on this food for more than a year. Both devour the food and are at a healthy weight. The Dobe (76 lbs), who gets 2 cups twice a day, is a blue, which are prone to skin problems and hair loss. While her coat isn't the same as a black Dobe, it is looking clear and pretty full. I'm not going to say it's luxurious because it's not. But for a blue she looks great and I receive compliments all the time on her aesthetics. The Pom (4.25 lbs) has tiny teeth and breaking apart the kibble is a non-issue. I give her 1/16 cup twice a day - I use a scoop that came with a protein powder I used to have (for me, not the pups). My only reservation of this food is that the Dobe's stool is very soft and can be messy to pick up, which it was on her last brand of food too. In reading reviews for Canidae, I thought the issue would be fixed. The Pom's stool is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from FIRST TIME USING THIS DOG FOOD I had been using Orijen dry dog food for my three Pit Bulls and they did excellent on it. However, with three big dogs, the expense of feeding them was becoming overwhelming so I had to make a switch, thus, this is where the Canidae Life Stages comes in. I've been feeding this to my Pitties for two weeks now and they seem fine with it. Two of my Pitties will eat just about anything put in front of them so it's hard to tell if they love this food or not. However, my youngest Pittie who is 2 years old now, is a much pickier eater and she seems to eat this food about as well as she has any other in the past! Their stomachs seem to tolerate it well and they haven't appeared to have any digestive issues with it. Canidae is a good quality dog food so if you're looking to feed your dog an excellent quality dog food that isn't over the top expensive, than this is the one to pick!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog's & I are thrilled As my wife and I are reaching middle age, we are being much more selective about what we eat. Also, we try to eat better grades of various foods, which is rewarding to our bodies, taste buds, and in some cases the earth, and quality of life issues for the animals that provide some of our food. Being happy with our changes, I started researching foods for our three Yorkies, ages 12, 3, & 2. Changing, from what I thought was a quality product available from our local stores, to Canidea All Life Stages, was a massively positive move. The dogs all are triple excited at meal time, versus just going thru the motions before. Their coats are better. The youngest had flaky skin, which is healed. They had a few discusting habits, that I think we're from lack of some nutrients, that have stoped. My wife & I, and our dogs are our family. It makes me feel good that we are all eating healthier and we are all noticing big positive changes all around. Use this product. Nothing but good can come from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is very good. We rescued a 'mutt' she is some sort of a wire terrier mixed with who know what. Canidae life stages was recommended for her coat and sensitive stomach. She loves the food and her coat looks so much healthier and feels softer. Her digestive issues never service unless she eats something other than the Canidae.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dogs love their Canidae!!! After feeding Science Diet my dogs often suffered loose stools, dry hair, & when they did not have loose stools extreme gas we decided it was time to change to something better. Not to mention the price of SD had went up. With many weeks of research & waiting for our large bag to run out we choose Canidae above many of the other premium brands I am happy to report my fur babies are doing great. No more gas, loose stools and their coats are now full of shine! I also breed & raise Shih Tzu & Yorkshire Terrier puppies I send each & every puppy home on Canidae we do mix it with Holistic Select but I do not mix but 2 cups of HS per 5 pounds Canidae. I order 3 of the 44# bags and with 10 small dogs we go through 1 of the 44# bags a month and every 2 weeks. I will continue to feed Canidae and send each puppy home with a bag as well. I have even convinced a few family members to make the change over to Canidae and their dogs have been also doing great! My dogs love the Canidae Treats as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Came home with my Australian Shepherd Puppy and nw converted the pack. This brand of food came home with our puppy last year and we then converted the pack. All are doing extremely well on the product. I have an 8 year old GSD who always has food issues and had to be on a special diet most of his life but even he is doing well on this product. If you need to do a dry food this would be a suggestion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, speedy, and satisfactory I had heard about chewy.com and the products they sell numerous times from my friends and fellow pet owners. I finally decided to try them out. I calculated the price per pound and compared it to my dog's previous brand of food and found I would only pay about $.08 more per pound. The switch was worth it. I have seen an improvement in my dog from the first few meals. The order process is simple and I like that I can track my order. I also like how you can customize your order (to a degree) by deciding how much and how frequent to order. I will probably reconfigure my order settings as my dog does not need 44lbs of food every 4 weeks.
