Rated 5 out of 5 by Picky dog with kidney disease and weak stomach My dog has chronic vomiting, diarrhea as well as kidney disease AND is a picky eater. The upset stomach is made worse if she goes more than 5/6 hours without food. Yep, I have my work cut out! She was, up until the last week, happily eating Hills Original KD. After a particularly bad bout of vomiting/loose stools she refused to eat the Hills. So I changed my usual order to Ultramix tripe because someone commented it was low phosphates (kidneys), it's grain free (weak stomach) and contained tripe (quality protein). Plus, it has other ingredients I've read are good for dogs. I do want to check with the makers about the phosphates though as sodium phosphate is mentioned in the ingredients (salt also an issue). I got in from work today and my dog was drooling heavily (sure sign a bout of vomiting is coming on) and my order had just arrived so I got something in her tummy to prevent the vomiting - she ate this food right up and hasn't vomited. Praise be to God and the people at Ultramix (so far)! NOTHING has stopped her vomiting at that late stage before. I gave her the other half of the tin this evening and she gobbled it all up and has been prancing around as happy as anything. I SO hope this continues. I feel I can start reintroducing her to her blood pressure medication tomorrow as I'd stopped it until I could get the vomiting under control. I'll update after a few weeks. November 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Room-Clearing Gas! The ingredients sounded good, and my dogs are accustomed to eating both tripe and chicken, but OMG! I have never smelled anything as bad as the gas they both got after eating this! They usually eat raw meat mixed with Sojos premix. I give them the occasional can when we travel, etc. I asked the vet and he said the bacteria in dogs' guts get used to a particular diet and take some time to adjust. I just haven't had a reaction like this from other canned foods. October 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Initial review We just got this product and tried it for the first time last night I pair it with a blue buffalo fish and oatmeal kibble. My picky eater was quick to gobble it all up and I didn't have to beg him to eat. He also is very high maintenance and has bad reactions to lots of other foods so we will see how he is doing in a few days or so but my other eats everything so no problems there. September 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My three dogs love this stuff! We have three dogs (each with their own pickiness when it comes to food) and they all love this! September 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by they like but pricey They eat this pretty fast. First time ordering this. Probably will not order again unless on sale. On a strict budget and already straining it by buying Victor or one of the wilderness foods. I try to avoid certain ingredients and the ones without these are pricey! September 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT Product My dog's and foster dog's all loved this product. Will definitely keep this in thier rotation of food. July 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good mix with tripe but one dog prefers solid gold I bought this to aid in feeding tripe to my senior Sheltie with renal failure and a poor appetite. Had used solid gold tripe with great success but wanted to expand diet options and this seemed to have a really good mix of ingredients. My other 3 pups love it but the sick sheltie prefers less chunky and more puréed brand. June 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dogs love it Finally found a good quality food that all my dogs love! June 2, 2016
