Dog Mate Dog Door is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from ELECTRONIC?? When purchasing, I had my results set to electronic dog doors only and this one came up. It's a good size for my medium and larger dog. The description online said it is electronic, but I just read the box today and it doesn't say anything about it being an electronic door. It's a Christmas gift so hopefully it'll be okay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the hard flap I had the conventional rubber flap that kept ripping and costly to replace 2 - 3 times a year. I love the hard flap that is on a hinge. I bought a second one after receiving the first one and looking at it because I have 3 large dogs competing to get outside. I am getting a custom door built with the two doors on each side as part of the side lights. The white plastic trim looks good on the white doors. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is it is a little flimsy at the hinges and I am worried it could snap out. I don't care for the cover, I prefer a cover that slides in and out on a track. This one seems like it could be broken into easily. I haven't used them yet, so this assessment is just from out of the box and how it appears it will be like installed. The orders were shipped immediately and received in 3 days each time. The customer service employees are very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product and last a long time This is the second Dog Mate door that I have purchased, the first one was 15+ years old. The first door was still in good condition until I left the door block in place one night with two dogs inside and one outside. The one lock outside chewed part of the frame off the door trying to get in so I purchased a new door and replaced the old one. I first started using the original door with a 3 legged dog, one leg on the front and a cat and they had no problem getting in and out. Over the years I have added more dogs and cats while some have passed on but the original door kept doing the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from heavy loud and not an easy install This door has definite pro and cons. The magnets on the door hold firmly, which is wonderful to keep out flying bugs, but, unfortunately, it keeps my dogs out too.. I think it would work well for high spirited dogs, but, for the less aggressive they just seem to respect the fact you dont want them in and dont push. Luckily I figured out a way to remove the magnets for training purposes and was able to put one magnet back once they understood the principal. It still keeps the door shut and provides the perfect amount of protection from flies and such. The installation was no piece of cake either, you may want to pick up some washers before you start the job, save yourself some headache. All and all it does what I needed it to do, its just noisy and bulky and I prefer the soft plastic doors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product. The hardest part was "our" end, we put in a raised panel exterior door. Your product was the easy part! I have 5 dogs using it! Well, actually 3 have learned how to go through it, 2 are still learning!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid construction and easy to install It was very easy to install- I have a 6 panel 2 3/4 in door. I used the outline provided and traced a cut line on the door. I used a drill to make a hole all the way through the door that was big enough for my jig saw blade to fit through and then made the cut. The door slides right in the hole and you use the screws provided- 3 different sizes, you put one side with shorter screws and the other with longer screws that way the screws don't ouch in the middle of the door and screw all the way in- to secure it to the door. Didn't take longer than 15 minutes. Because of the panels in the door there are little gaps, but caulk fixes that. If you have a flat door, no need for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The door may be fine if we ever get it installed. The directions are so poorly written and inacurate that we thew them away and went frim instinct, The door may be fine if we ever get it installed. The directions were so poorly written and inaccurate we tossed them and went from instinct. Two days n additional hardware purchase later wthe entire door is going up for pet use tomorrow. We hope for the best.
