Rated 5 out of 5 by Yeast/Allergies Better! My 5 year old American Bulldog/Staffordshire mix, Jack, has has really bad skin issues these past couple months. He was always seasonally allergic and naturally has pink skin but this season it was more than just a few months and he was actually creating hotspots. After a few hours of research, I figured out that the paw biting was caused by yeast. More research lead me to the fact that potatoes in dog food increase yeast. Also, he was always on taste of the wild and I wanted to eliminate the proteins (buffalo and beef were the last two flavors I gave him) he has been eating because maybe he was allergic to that too. This lead to to buy Nutrisca Chicken and Chickpea. It has been two weeks and he has gotten SO MUCH BETTER! He went from constantly chewing his paws and itching to barely chewing! I always thought he had gotten lazier from getting older but switching to this food, he has so much more energy! I do still think he may be allergic to something else outside because he still does get a little pink around his lips from time to time. But this food had clearly made a difference in the 2 weeks he has been on it. September 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My picky dog seems to LOVE this food! I ordered this primarily for my diabetic mini-schnauzer, however, my very finicky rat terrier, Lily, also LOVES it. I didn't even have to mix it with any canned dogfood--they ate it eagerly! So happy to have found something healthy and nutritious for both my girls. October 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great to supplement raw food diet My standard poodle is 2.5 years and super healthy. She has been eating Nutrisca Chicken & Chickpea since she was 7 weeks. I also give them to her as treats! She loves this food. I don't feed canned food. I feed her raw human-grade chicken breast or sardines mixed with her Nutrisca kibbles. Beef gives her diarrhea and so does a total raw food diet. She has perfect stools with Nutrisca and I know she is getting quality ingredients and proper nutrition. She is very healthy, strong and energetic. October 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality Food Excellent product from Nutrisca. Also highly recommend Live Free a low glycemic food. My Boston Terriers love the food which I enhance with homemade chicken/beef/pork wich I like to add for variety once in a while. September 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good for diabetic dog I use to buy this dog food at a national chain pet store at a much higher price. Found it on chewy for a very reasonable price. The national chain stopped carrying it. This food has kept my dogs diabetes under control. My dog had stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. With this food he has picked his weight up and his appitate came back. I'm very pleased with this product. September 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect "Limited Ingredient" Food Both of my Staffies have significant allergies (to potatoes as well as tapioca and a wide variety of other ingredients). Nutrisca offers a very economical choice as far as somewhat limited ingredient foods go. I highly recommend this food for dogs with allergies to potatoes and tapioca. I mix this with Evanger's limited ingredient wet food and it makes for the perfect meal. ***Nutrisca can be purchased at my local independently owned pet store as well as (at least) one major supermarket. Prices are fractionally less through Chewy (but one does receive the benefit of being able to shop for other items and combine for shipping purposes). Nutrisca is the big winner matter where it is purchased. August 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Totally Recommend This dog food as been an answer to many prayers. My yorkie was constantly itching and scratching himself. His skin was red and inflamed with bumps along with having ear infections one right after another. He was always chewing his feet. We were having to give him shots at the vet just so he was moderately comfortable. We narrowed down that he has an abundant amount of yeast issues along with food allergies. Although getting grain free dog food helped it wasn't doing enough. While searching and reading reviews on different dog foods I came across this one. The reviews were awesome and it has chick peas instead of potatoes or peas. The change has been humongous. The red, inflamed, itchy skin is a thing of the past. He rarely chews his feet if at all. The yeast in his body is under control with the help of this diet and a special ear wash. Cannot express enough how great this food is and he loves the taste. In fact my other six rescued dogs love the taste too. June 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by dogs love it I mix the dry with the can and my dogs love it. They even love the dry by itself. I already wrote a review on the can. It's great stuff but expensive. August 26, 2016
