Nutrisca Grain-Free Chicken & Chickpea Recipe Dry Dog Food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 192.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as it used to be For anyone interested, Nutrisca has changed their formula and it's not as good as it was before. Their meat based protein has gone down, and their plant based protein has gone up. They are currently listed on Dog Food Advisor (Jan 25th 2017) as a 5 star, based on their old formula; I have emailed the company to let them know of my opinion with the formula change. All that being said, it is still a decent choice for a mid range grain free dry formula, especially since there is such a small number of brands and formulas of grain free dog food that *don't* use cheap unhealthy fillers, specifically potato and tapioca, and Nutrisca thankfully doesn't. I truly wish they would have kept their older formula though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yeast/Allergies Better! My 5 year old American Bulldog/Staffordshire mix, Jack, has has really bad skin issues these past couple months. He was always seasonally allergic and naturally has pink skin but this season it was more than just a few months and he was actually creating hotspots. After a few hours of research, I figured out that the paw biting was caused by yeast. More research lead me to the fact that potatoes in dog food increase yeast. Also, he was always on taste of the wild and I wanted to eliminate the proteins (buffalo and beef were the last two flavors I gave him) he has been eating because maybe he was allergic to that too. This lead to to buy Nutrisca Chicken and Chickpea. It has been two weeks and he has gotten SO MUCH BETTER! He went from constantly chewing his paws and itching to barely chewing! I always thought he had gotten lazier from getting older but switching to this food, he has so much more energy! I do still think he may be allergic to something else outside because he still does get a little pink around his lips from time to time. But this food had clearly made a difference in the 2 weeks he has been on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally Recommend This dog food as been an answer to many prayers. My yorkie was constantly itching and scratching himself. His skin was red and inflamed with bumps along with having ear infections one right after another. He was always chewing his feet. We were having to give him shots at the vet just so he was moderately comfortable. We narrowed down that he has an abundant amount of yeast issues along with food allergies. Although getting grain free dog food helped it wasn't doing enough. While searching and reading reviews on different dog foods I came across this one. The reviews were awesome and it has chick peas instead of potatoes or peas. The change has been humongous. The red, inflamed, itchy skin is a thing of the past. He rarely chews his feet if at all. The yeast in his body is under control with the help of this diet and a special ear wash. Cannot express enough how great this food is and he loves the taste. In fact my other six rescued dogs love the taste too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grain free is best My dog has sensitive skin and this product is a good grain free option as an alternative to most dog foods in the store. Good value as well for the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dog loves it! my diabetic dog as most diabetic dogs seem to be is the pickiest eater. randomly he'll decide to stop eating his food so I had this laying around just for that purpose. he's now loving this food and hopefully he sticks to it lol. so far so good and he seems happy. his old food also seemed to bother his stomach and this food he's been fine, another plus. the price is also great compared to most others that seem okay for diabetic dogs. all in all I'm happy, he's happy, we're all happy lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nutrisca cured my dogs severe allergies We adopted a little Chihuahua who has always had severe allergies. He mainly chewed his paws, had gunky eyes and ear infections. After an allergy test, he was put on a very expensive grain free prescription food. He was better for a little while but we had to re-visit the vet over and over again since he kept chewing his paws to the point where they were raw. He was put on all kinds of medications but nothing really worked. We eliminated everything he could be allergic to in our home but that did not work either. He was so miserable. We finally did allot of research on the internet and found out that he may be allergic to his prescription food even though none of the ingredients were listed on his allergy test. Once we started him on Nutrisca grain and potatoe free food, he immediately showed improvement. After two weeks his paws were 90% healed and after three weeks he completely stopped itching. We are so glad we found this food. The bag is re-sealable and keeps the food fresh. We also like that Nutrisca is made from cage free chicken, this is very important to us since we are always looking for humanely raised ingredients when buying foods. We also give him the nutrisca freezed dried treats, he really loves them! Thank you for this great food!
