  • no go with my dogs

    By on

First, must admit I did not like the look of this food after I mixed it up. Just didn't seem like something a dog would readily eat. Mixed it with raw hamburger and my labs would not touch it. Kept food available for over an hour and no takers. Dogs begged for food but would not eat this. Off to the local shelter where I hope they have better luck.

  • Like Ketchup On Top

Our three dogs love this! One of the three has kidney disease and sometimes refuses his prescription diet. We mix in a spoonful of Dr. Harvey's with the NF Pro Plan Veterinary Diet and he chows his dinner down. This is his ketchup on top fix.

  • Excellent for dog with anal gland issues

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My little guy has not had consistent firm stools ever. I have tried many dog foods. Grain free was the worst, he scooted constantly and it was clear he needs grains and fiber. I had good luck with an Honest Kitchen base mix with grains but it was discontinued about a year ago. This product is similar to the HK pre-mix I was using. I give him 1 scoop plus 1 Stella & Chewy puck and some Halo Dream Coat oil per day. My dog loves it but I will say he will eat anything. His stools are the firmest he's ever had and no scooting !

  • Wonderful food!

My 14 year old dog has kidney issues and is supposed to eat a low protein diet. He won't touch the prescription diets. Happily eats this and I control the amount of protein. Awesome!

  • Picky Senior with Kidney Disease Begs for This Now

    By on

I was really beginning to worry about my senior foster dog with Kidney Disease. One week after eating the Miracle dog food, he had more energy and felt "squishier" (my way of saying he is more hydrated). A few weeks later he is more alert and actually asks for this food. It used to be a nightmare to get him to eat, and I was beginning to be seriously concerned. I put green beef tripe and prescription kidney care food on top of this with pumpkin, salmon oil, and apple sauce and he GOBBLES his food down. He is an odd bird that eats at night after everyone else has gone to bed and it is so wonderful to wake up in the morning and find his bowl empty!

  • So far so good

My 12 year old dog has kidney problems. He was eating Daves Restricted diet and after a year on it he wouldn't eat it anymore. I researched Dr Harvey's and even called and spoke to Dr Harvey. He was very informative. Well I bought the food knowing that Chewys would refund me if my dog didn't like it. He LOVES it. He eats it so fast along with the protein that I add. He goes for follow up blood tests next month and I'm hoping to see much improvement. I'm very optimistic and I highly recommend Dr Harveys

  • Not a miracle

    By on

We have a very picky eater and I saw Dr Harvey's advertised as the miracle food. I purchased the small bag to try it. The freeze dried vegetables looked great. I added chicken, and she wouldn't eat any of it. If the chicken had any vegetable on it, she pushed it away. We added beef and she did the same thing....even tried a hotdog! Nope! I have ordered two small bags of Orijen, one beef and one fish. They should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully, she will like it! I am at my wits end. We started her on Anamaet when she was a puppy. She ate it off and on for a year. That's when she started refusing, so we tried a few other types, Rachael Ray dry, Rachael Ray wet. I'm sure we will find something she likes, soon! If anyone has a suggestion, please help! … more

  • Very heavy in grains

    By on

I wanted to like this (my pugs loved the taste) but it is so heavy in grains my pugs drank constantly while they were on it and I could see them gaining weight by the hour. The recommended amount was way too much but even giving them half the amount recommended it was not a good fit for pugs. I am now trying the veg to bowl, but believe I will be going back to allprovide.
