Transition Instructions

A new pet food should be gradually introduced to your animal by mixing it with their current food. For a nice, slow transition, replace the old food with the new food in small increments over the course of a three week period. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for a pet’s digestive tract to fully adjust to a new diet. If digestive upset occurs, transition more slowly.

About EVO Ancestral Diet Dog Food

Designed by Nature, Perfected by EVO

EVO takes the ancestral diet of wolves and refines it to fit the needs of today's pups. Nature designed a wolf's body to hunt and thrive on the animal proteins of its prey. EVO kibble has high levels of protein with poultry, red meat or fish as the first ingredient to satisfy a carnivore's needs. To maximize the effect, carbs are limited—and no grains, potatoes or glutens are ever added to any of their recipes. It's the modern version of a healthy ancestral diet to make sure your dog is getting everything he needs in every meal.

Designed by Nature, Perfected by EVO
The EVO Advantage

The EVO Advantage

In perfecting the modern ancestral diet, EVO follows a specific guideline that promotes a lean, more conditioned body. Your pet gets the EVO advantage of more animal proteins and minimal carbohydrates to help maintain lean muscle mass and a healthy weight. In fact, there's more than a third of a pound of animal proteins per serving for an average size dog, from delicious ingredients like turkey, chicken, beef, bison, lamb, venison, herring, salmon and eggs.

More Nutrition in Each Bite

EVO packs more nutrients into each piece of kibble and every bite of wet food. As a result, your dog needs a smaller portion than the average kibble to thrive. This ultra-dense food has a high concentration of protein that's full of amino acids, plus essential vitamins and minerals. With highly digestible ingredients, your pup can absorb and utilize more nutrients, which helps minimize waste—lucky for you.

An Easy Raw Alternative

An Easy Raw Alternative

Raw diets are known to contain high levels of nutrients. The careful cooking process that EVO uses to make their foods helps preserve these vital trace nutrients, vitamins and minerals. That makes it an easy alternative to feeding raw—one that doesn't involve lengthy preparation and trying to figure out which ingredients to include for a well-balanced diet.

Transparent Sourcing of Premium Ingredients

Careful sourcing and transparency are important parts of the EVO philosophy. Their recipes are made of 78-82% animal ingredients, and 18-22% fruits and vegetables, all of which have nutritional benefits for your pets.

Farm-Grown Carrots

Sourced From Arizona and Minnesota

Benefits Veggies like carrots are found in the diet of even the strictest carnivores, and they deliver vitamins and fiber.

  • Great Dog Food... But

    By on

I purchased Evo after my dog got sick with cancer. This brand was one of three or four recommended by Dr. Dressler, the vet who wrote The Dog Cancer Survival Guide. After my beautiful pooch passed away, I got a new rescue dog and started him on this brand, too. He loves it. I was feeding him half EVO canned and half EVO kibble. But then I had trouble finding the canned. I ended up calling the company (Mars), and was told that all EVO is being discontinued due to the high cost of manufacturing it. I'm really irritated by this after going through all the trouble of transitioning my dog from his old food to this one and now have to do it again. Hopefully this one will be around awhile. I love Chewy, but wish you had stated that this brand was being discontinued. … more

  • Great company, great food

    By on

I was impressed with how easy it was to order, set up re-ordering, the price of the dog food was comparable to elsewhere and Chewy even included a discount, and the delivery was fast because I received my dog food within 12 hours of placing my order. An added bonus is that my pups love this type of dog food. I will continue to use Chewy for all my pet needs.

  • Too "small" small bites.....

    By on

I really like the EVO brand dog food. However this small bites dog food was really really small.. Even somewhat crumbled. I would order the EVO again just not in the small bites size.

  • Dogs don't like this as much as they liked Fromm's Lamb and Rice

    By on

Chewy's stopped carrying Fromm's Lamb and Rice, which our 3 dogs loved, so we had no choice but to switch. Initially, our dogs hardly touched these, but they're getting used to it, so now they're eating more of it. I always top their crunchies (no matter what brand) with boiled hamburg (with the grease drained) so that makes it more appetizing.

  • Jury still out

    By on

My dog loved a couple of handfuls of this kibble but as I'm incorporating it into his diet, he's still being picky. He's also started chewing and scratching, which might indicate allergic reaction.
