  • Picks up eggs as well as varmits

My dog, Zimmie, is a yellow lab about 12 years old. Her coat is dense, an excellent habitat and breeding ground for fleas. You don't see them until she is scratching and I go looking. A good combing with this strong, well made comb, three days in a row a week after an application of flea/tick remover, produced a few tiny fleas and quite a few eggs on the first combing. She is flea free now. I combed her last night with 0 results. Thank you.

  • Not fine

Seeing as the description was "fine comb" i thought itd be small spaced enough for my cat. I couldnt even catch one flea with it for several days. I dont know how dog fleas are but careful with thinking that this is small enough to catch fleas.

  • Flea comb- good product

    By on

I needed to replace my old metal flea comb, which is no longer made, and found this one. It is the same size and shape, seems well made, but even listed as extra fine, it isn't quite as fine as my old one. Seems to work pretty well, though.

  • The best flea comb!!

The first comb lasted 16 years. It went through 3 very heavy coated herding breed dogs (Border Collie, Australian Shephard, welsh Corgi) on a regular basis. It's the only comb, as far as I can tell, where you can actually see the flea, quickly enough to react, with the silver body and teeth It's also one piece, so, it's strong and easy to clean. Just get a glass with hot soapy water and dip the comb quickly into it if you find a flea or eggs. The soapy water will kill the flea. There are years when it seems nothing you do will eliminate fleas. Some have and will continue to become immune to flea treatments. Also, some dogs are more susceptible than others. I recently bought 2 more combs. One for myself, as, after all these years and so much use, 2 prongs on my old comb have bent a little. So now I have a spare. My daughter-in-law is having a lot of trouble with fleas, in an apartment complex. One of her dogs is too old to use flea treatments, so the comb and baths are her only recourse. The second comb is for her. I was so happy to find this comb again, after all these years. Please don't stop making it, Four Paws. Thank you for a superior product. … more

  • Missed this product

I have been grooming for 35 years and love the final finish on lots of coats with this comb, although I don't recommend it to customers to use. I personally feel good using it knowing there isn't a matt or much undercoat ever left in a dog I groom.....

works great on thick German Shepherd fur. Others I had the teeth would bend and break off.

  • Sturdy and works great

Sturdy and works great without pain. Gets the job done easily. Heavy duty enough to work but not too heavy for my hand. It works well with his short hair.

  • Like that it's all metal

Just your basic flea comb that I believe is a must have in any household with furry pets. Fleas vs allergies can be answered within minutes. Since it's all metal, it will last forever.
