The given chart provides a good place to start, but determining the correct amount of food for your pet depends upon your evaluation of your pet's overall performance on the amount of food consumed along with any treats given. Spayed or neutered dogs may require up to 25% less food. Two to four times more food may be required for puppies, gestating dogs, and nursing dog.

Transition Instructions

If you are currently experiencing digestive upset or loose stools, switch to the new food immediately.

If you are switching from another brand of food and currently have solid stools, start with a 25% of the new food mixed with 75% of the old food. Move to a 50% mix once two solid stools are produced. Continue to 75% new food and 100% new food in the same manner.

If you are switching from one Fromm food to another, a transition period is typically not needed.

  • Perfect for treat ball

    By on

I actually feed my 14 year old border collie Honest Kitchen that I purchase from Chewy. So that he doesn't become overweight and have his joints affected I prefer to put kibble in his treat ball and consider it part of his daily food allowance. This kibble is very small so perfect for my purpose. I had been using Lotus but the lamb was temporarily unavailable as Lotus changed their formula. Now that Lotus is back in stock I will vary between this and the Lotus.

  • Allergies

    By on

My dog is allergy prone, environmental and otherwise. I have tried other dog foods in the past but have always returned to Fromm which has been the major food in my dog's life. My dog loved the Lamb and lentil but I did notice was constantly licking his paws and shaking his head. Since switching to the Salmon Tunalini that has been resolved by 90%.

  • Fromm 4 star Lamb & Lentil Dry dog food GREAT!

    By on

I have French Bulldogs and needed to feed a Lamb based food. I called the Fromm co and was able to talk directly with the nutritional expert and we talk about my need for the Frenchies. We show in dog show and need to have beautiful coats, NO Eye area staining and good bowl movements. I purchased and starting to add in with our normal food and both dogs loved it right away. It was amazing to see how great the poop was! That is the BEST way to judge what you are feeding! Buy this product!

  • My picky dogs love this!

We've been using Fromm for a while and I've tried some of the other proteins in this line, but they have never flipped for one like they did lamb & lentil. I love that the kibble are shaped like little lambs too. We have a new staple!

  • Great dog food!

    By on

My husband was even impressed with the Lamb & Lentil Recipe! The dogs love it, smaller kibble which is great for using as treats during training for my young dog. When we opened the bag, they both were front and center to try to get into it! They even try to open the tub it's in when they go past! Very nice texture ... and apparently wonderful taste (sorry everyone, I did not taste it! :)!

  • Absolutely Love This Food

My 5lb Yorkie/Chihuahua mix has horrible food allergies and this food is perfect for her. The kibble is small enough for her to chew without any trouble, and the ingredients don't trigger any flare ups. 100% recommend this for any dog with food sensitivies or petite/small breed dogs.

  • My guy loves it!

    By on

our Groomer recommended Fromms because it's grain free and would be a healthier choice for my Yorkie. I put it Dow and along side I left a treat for him. He sniffed the food and immediately ate the whole bowl. The treat was still there untouched. Guess he likes it.

  • Both dogs love it

    By on

We adopted a 5 year old Shih Tzu last summer. The kibble she had been eating wasn't right for her and fur/teeth/size/health showed it. I went to a local pet food store and asked for a healthy, small, easy to eat kibble. They gave me several samples of Fromm food. Both our adopted dog and other Shih Tzu went crazy for the Lamb and Lentil recipe. I bought a bag and both dogs gobbled it up! Our adopted dog gained weight, has a beautiful thick coat with no more skin issues, and has had no tummy troubles since we started her on it. It is super easy on her small teeth. Our other dog has eaten this kibble better than any other dry food product. Couldn't be happier with this product.

  • In my rotation of 3 Fromm formulas

    By on Top 100 Contributor

Can't believe I haven't written a review yet for this Fromm formula, since it's been part of the Fromm rotation for my two schnauzers for over a year. It took me a while to realize the little shapes were lambs - cute touch which we humans appreciate more than the dogs. To them, it just tastes great and, like all the Fromm foods they enjoy, so good for them. We rotate with Duck & Sweet Potato (round shape) and Hasen Duckenpfeffer (little rabbit shapes), so mealtime never gets boring - for them, or for me. No problem whatsoever switching from one to the other in the same day - one of the beauties of how this company formulates their products.

  • My picky dog loves this food!

    By on

My picky Wheaten Terrier was not eating her food without mixing cottage cheese with it so it was time to make a brand change! After seeing many good reviews about Fromm, I decided to try the grain free Lamb and Lentil. She loved it immediately and even picked her old food out of the bowl and put it on the floor to eat her new food! She now eats her Fromm, like it's a treat, as soon as I put it down. I couldn't be happier with Fromm!
