Feeding Instructions

Many factors including age, breed, activity level, and individual metabolism contribute to the need for adjusting portion sizes. Two to four times more food may be required for puppies, gestating dogs, and nursing dogs. Spayed or neutered dogs may require up to 25% less food.

Determining the correct amount of food for your pet depends upon your evaluation of your pet's overall performance on the amount of food consumed along with any other food or treats given.

If feeding canned food only, the average dog requires ¾ oz for each pound of body weight, best fed twice a day.

  • Excellent canned food

    By on

My dog adores this canned food! I use it as a topper for her dry food. My only criticism is I wish they mashed the veggies, beans and potatoes since dogs don't often digest plant matter very well. What I do is a take a can and put in a food processor and it mixes it into a loose pate. Works wonders and I'm assured my dog is digesting everything! I prefer the four star line over the gold and classic since the four star line uses the most meat, veggies and fruits. I will happily continue to buy this for my dog. Thanks chewy and Fromm!

  • She goes bonkers!

Our little pup LOVES this food. We had a sample of it from one of the local stores here in town and she seemed to enjoy it. We tried other brands but she wasn't as excited about them. We bought a case of the Fromm from Chewy.com and when she realized what we had she was doing laps around the kitchen! She was so happy. This product is great.

  • Great Food

    By on

We needed to get a low fat food for our dog due to some health issues. She loves this and gets so excited for breakfast. I rotate her food, but she always seems the most excited about this one. She does struggle a little bit to get every bean and pea out of the bottom of her bowl

  • Dogs ate it

As I wrote in my review of this company's shredded beef product, This shredded chicken product is also WAY OVERPRICED ( & "watery" - not much chicken ) $43.31 for 12 cans ( each can is 12 oz - or 3/4 lb ) $3.61 per can that comes to$4.82 per pound. When was the last time you spent $4.82 a pound for real chicken? From my local Supermarket ( ON SALE ): Tyson Boneless Chicken Breasts - Family Pack 3 lb $1.99/lb ( on sale - 3 lb minimum ) I will be feeding my dogs REAL CHICKEN from now on. NOT THIS CANNED STUFF.

  • Fromm makes great food

Although the dogs all ate it, it was like soup. More gravy than anything else. If your dog likes canned food, and has little or no teeth this would be perfect but for our canine family, too runny.

  • They love it!

    By on

We have three dogs--chihuahua, boston terrier and whippet. We put a tablespoon of this on their food in the mornings and mix it in. They love it. It's not a loaf-style food, which I like, since it's easier to stir in. Will definitely buy this again.

  • No slop here! May be expensive, but it's high quality food.

    By on Top 250 Contributor

My dogs LOVE this stuff. When you open the can, it doesn't even look or smell like dog food. It looks like a chicken stew you'd make for dinner in the crock pot. This is no slop. You can see the vegetables in here. I'd show you a picture, but my dogs gobble it up too quickly to take one.

  • Smells like roasted chicken

Our 3 year old very picky lab mix loved this food. We mix a little in with his dry kibble and he ate with gusto. It's a little pricey, but worth it to see him enjoy eating.

  • Great high quality/low fat addition to dry food!

    By on

Both of our senior dogs seemed bored with their kibble, even after trying different brands. I was looking for a low fat canned food since one of our dogs has had a few bouts of pancreatitis and found this. It has a 5 star review from Dog Advisor. When I mix it in with their dry food our dogs are now excited about eating again!
