Frontline Plus doesn’t just kill adult fleas and ticks but also slays the next generation of flea eggs and larvae. Plus, it works non-stop for 30 days on dogs. Frontline Plus has 2 tough killing ingredients. The 1st, fipronil, kills adult fleas and ticks. The 2nd, (S)-methoprene, attacks flea eggs and larvae. They work together to kill all month long. Plus, it breaks the flea life cycle. By also destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae, Frontline Plus gives you the power to help prevent a flea infestation on your pet. Frontline products are highly recommended by veterinarians for flea and tick control for dogs.

  • Provides waterproof effectiveness so that it won't wash off from swimming or baths

Frequently Asked Questions

How does FRONTLINE Plus kill fleas and ticks?

FRONTLINE Plus has 2 secret weapons: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Once FRONTLINE Plus is applied, this combo stores itself in the oil glands in your pet's skin. It then self-distributes continuously for 1 month to your pet's hair and skin through the hair follicles. Fleas or ticks that come in contact with your pet are dead meat.

How long does it take for FRONTLINE Plus to kill fleas?

In a study, FRONTLINE Plus began killing fleas 4 hours after application.1 Another study showed that within 12 hours, Frontline Plus killed 100% of fleas.2

Do fleas and ticks have to bite my pet for FRONTLINE Plus to work?

No. FRONTLINE Plus kills fleas and ticks through contact with your pet's haircoat. No biting necessary.

Why am I seeing more fleas on my pet after applying FRONTLINE Plus?

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's haircoat as they die. So if you start seeing more fleas after treating your pet, consider it a victory for the killing force.

After using FRONTLINE Plus, I still see fleas in my home. Why?

The fleas you see most likely started as flea eggs that were deposited in the environment before you began using FRONTLINE Plus. Consecutive monthly applications of FRONTLINE Plus will assist with the elimination of an indoor flea life cycle. In some geographical regions in the United States, it may be required to use the product year-round.

Does FRONTLINE Plus have an expiration date?

No. As long as you keep it at room temperature and sealed in its original packaging, FRONTLINE Plus will remain ready for battle.

How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?

FRONTLINE Plus remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 24 hours. If FRONTLINE Plus is to be applied after a bath, make sure your pet is completely dry before application.

Can I use it if my pet is on medication?

Before using FRONTLINE Plus, ask your vet about possible interactions with any medications your dog is taking.

Can I use FRONTLINE Plus if I have already applied another flea and tick control product?

Before using, consult your veterinarian.

Does FRONTLINE Plus kill anything else besides fleas and ticks?

You bet. FRONTLINE Plus also kills chewing lice.

Can FRONTLINE Plus be used on pets other than dogs and cats?

No. FRONTLINE Plus should be used on dogs and cats only. There are specific products based on what kind of pet you have and how much it weighs. Be sure to use the right product for your pet.

Can I apply it more than once a month?

Don't reapply FRONTLINE Plus before the month is through. It keeps working for a full 30 days.

How old does my pet need to be in order to have FRONTLINE Plus applied?

At 8 weeks your pet can start benefiting from the power of FRONTLINE Plus.

I have been a tried and true Frontline fan for I would guess around 20ish years. The past year or so the Frontline plus just isn't getting the job done. We use it year round and still I see fleas. It is beyond frustrating. Frontline Gold is like $30.00 per box more per fur baby. That is ridiculous to me. Either your product works or pull it off the market and why mark up your new product that is hopefully doing what your old one should have all along?? Are you going to refund unhappy customer for all the money spent to date? Doubt it.

  • Did not work

I had used Advantix 2 before but thought I might try Frontline since it said it treats dogs 45-88 pounds, and one of my dogs is 45 and the other is 60. It did not work at all for either of them. I used Advantix two weeks later, along with a Capstar tablet covered in peanut butter for 2 days in a row and they are not scratching anymore. I only used Capstar with the Advantix for peace of mind. I now just give them food-grade diatomaceous earth with their food everyday as a preventive and to help with the worms they got from eating the fleas.

  • Did not work

Chewy is amazing but Frontline Plus did not work. I have three dogs all around the same size. I have not had flees in my new house in the three years we have been there. I noticed my dogs itching, I looked them over I found one flee on one of the three, but I know where there is one there's more. So I ordered Front Line Plus put it on my dogs hoping to ease the itch. It's been 2 weeks and they are still itching and now they all have more flees. Not happy with Front Line. Should have paid the extra for Advantage.

  • Our 'go-to' flea and tick medicine

    By on

Frontline has been our preferred flea and tick medication for over 10 years. We have lived on farms and in a suburban rural neighborhood. Frontline has never failed us. We have found Chewy's prices to be comparable to the big box stores, and the convenience of shipping to the house is great!

  • It Works Best of Any brand

    By on

I've used Frontline for years because it works best of any of the other brands. Chewy had the best prices also unless somebody is giving it away. Came in one day and Frontline works like it says on the box. Dogs don't get sick or irritated with it like a flea/tick collar.

  • Trusted flea meds.

    By on

Years ago you could only get this from your veterinarian and it was the recommended brand from them. It has always worked well for us with no side effects. I am wary of any of the off brands and the new chewables since they can have side effects, some of which are serious. Highly recommend this product for both dogs and cats and it's super convenient to buy it from Chewy.

The was my 1st time buying this product from Chewy. But the customer service representative was very knowledgable and assured me this product is purchased from the manufacturer which relieved my concern of getting a product that might harm my sweet precious babies! Thank you Chewy!
