Description

Frontline Plus doesn’t just kill adult fleas and ticks but also slays the next generation of flea eggs and larvae. Plus, it works non-stop for 30 days on dogs. Frontline Plus has 2 tough killing ingredients. The 1st, fipronil, kills adult fleas and ticks. The 2nd, (S)-methoprene, attacks flea eggs and larvae. They work together to kill all month long. Plus, it breaks the flea life cycle. By also destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae, Frontline Plus gives you the power to help prevent a flea infestation on your pet. Frontline products are highly recommended by veterinarians for flea and tick control for dogs.

Key Benefits

  • Highly recommended by veterinarians for flea and tick control for dogs
  • Contains fipronil to kill existing flea and tick infestations. It also kills fleas before they lay eggs, effectively preventing reinfestation for 30 days
  • Provides waterproof effectiveness so that it won't wash off from swimming or baths

Frequently Asked Questions

How does FRONTLINE Plus kill fleas and ticks?

FRONTLINE Plus has 2 secret weapons: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Once FRONTLINE Plus is applied, this combo stores itself in the oil glands in your pet's skin. It then self-distributes continuously for 1 month to your pet's hair and skin through the hair follicles. Fleas or ticks that come in contact with your pet are dead meat.

How long does it take for FRONTLINE Plus to kill fleas?

In a study, FRONTLINE Plus began killing fleas 4 hours after application.1 Another study showed that within 12 hours, Frontline Plus killed 100% of fleas.2

Do fleas and ticks have to bite my pet for FRONTLINE Plus to work?

No. FRONTLINE Plus kills fleas and ticks through contact with your pet's haircoat. No biting necessary.

Why am I seeing more fleas on my pet after applying FRONTLINE Plus?

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's haircoat as they die. So if you start seeing more fleas after treating your pet, consider it a victory for the killing force.

After using FRONTLINE Plus, I still see fleas in my home. Why?

The fleas you see most likely started as flea eggs that were deposited in the environment before you began using FRONTLINE Plus. Consecutive monthly applications of FRONTLINE Plus will assist with the elimination of an indoor flea life cycle. In some geographical regions in the United States, it may be required to use the product year-round.

Does FRONTLINE Plus have an expiration date?

No. As long as you keep it at room temperature and sealed in its original packaging, FRONTLINE Plus will remain ready for battle.

How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?

FRONTLINE Plus remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 24 hours. If FRONTLINE Plus is to be applied after a bath, make sure your pet is completely dry before application.

Can I use it if my pet is on medication?

Before using FRONTLINE Plus, ask your vet about possible interactions with any medications your dog is taking.

Can I use FRONTLINE Plus if I have already applied another flea and tick control product?

Before using, consult your veterinarian.

Does FRONTLINE Plus kill anything else besides fleas and ticks?

You bet. FRONTLINE Plus also kills chewing lice.

Can FRONTLINE Plus be used on pets other than dogs and cats?

No. FRONTLINE Plus should be used on dogs and cats only. There are specific products based on what kind of pet you have and how much it weighs. Be sure to use the right product for your pet.

Can I apply it more than once a month?

Don't reapply FRONTLINE Plus before the month is through. It keeps working for a full 30 days.

How old does my pet need to be in order to have FRONTLINE Plus applied?

At 8 weeks your pet can start benefiting from the power of FRONTLINE Plus.

  • Didn't work at all

    By on

A week ago I used Frontline Plus on my dog and it hasn't killed the fleas at all. My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has severe flea allergies and hoped this might help, but she's worse! I also have 3 cats and used the Frontline Plus for cats and didn't work for them either. My home is all wood floors and I constantly vacuum and mop and regularly was all bedding. My vet told me not to purchase it because the fleas are immune to it but I tried anyway because of all the positive reviews here. Never again.

  • Not effective in SouthCentral Michigan

We have used Frontline in Tennessee for 3 years and it was pretty durable. This summer we are living in Michigan(My husband is a military man so we've been moving around a lot,) and this has not been effective agains fleas here. I applied this products per the instructions on June 8, but only 19 days later(June 27) my pup has been itching like crazy! Took a close look at him(he is a brindle frenchie and super hard to find fleas unless you're really looking for them) and found three of them. We gave him a bath, and then found 3 more dead ones in the bathwater. We definitely wont buy this product anymore while we are living here. The sad part is, we don't even live in a neighborhood where fleas are a big problem! I can't imagine how bad it would be if we spent more time outdoors. Anyway, through all of this Chewy has been wonderful. I called yesterday to see if I could return the last 5 doses I still have, and they issued a full refund and gave oral suggestions for going forward. Thank you Chewy, you really did ease my stress of spending so much on this product just to find it isnt very effective in this area. … more

  • Chewy and frontline

    By on

I have used frontline for years and it has always worked well. However I'd never ordered it or anything else from Chewy before so that's is what my review is about. Cost was less than I'd been paying either from my vet or an online company. Ordering was easy. And it came in 2 days. It was easy to track package and I since I opted to have in transit notification I always knew where the pkg was. I have since ordered more from Chewy and will continue to do so.

I have used Frontline Plus for about 3 years and have been very satisfied with it. My little dogs are house dogs but a fenced in back yard to run in and we have a lot of squirrels and cats running thru our yard. I have not had a flea or tick problem.

It was cost beneficial to now get the Frontline Plus from you because the Vet no longer carries this version. So, it is great to know that we can now take care of your four legged child for another product through Chewy.

  • Have used this for 15+ years

    By on

I have used this for all of our dogs for over 15 years. The last 7 years we use year round since we now live in the country. Very wooded area as well as high deer population. My dog is an indoor dog that loves to be out in the yard-this is mandatory to keep her flea and tick free.

  • Seems to work great

    By on

had concern based on some other reviews and reactions. These seem great, have only seem 3 dead ticks on bedding and not a live one on our dog. Never see any fleas either. take the time to slowly squeeze it only surface skin at base of neck. do not squeeze too quick or it will pool up and run down hair.

Works for all of 48 hours. My maltese was scratching two days after applying Frontline. I also think I found flea dirt on him.

  • So Important to Have No Fleas!!!

    By on

I needed to compare this old stand-by with alternate products I have become aware of. The rep on the phone when I ordered was super knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. I have never had a problem with this product, and Chewy's prices are very fair.
