Frontline Plus doesn’t just kill adult fleas and ticks but also slays the next generation of flea eggs and larvae. Plus, it works non-stop for 30 days on dogs. Frontline Plus has 2 tough killing ingredients. The 1st, fipronil, kills adult fleas and ticks. The 2nd, (S)-methoprene, attacks flea eggs and larvae. They work together to kill all month long. Plus, it breaks the flea life cycle. By also destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae, Frontline Plus gives you the power to help prevent a flea infestation on your pet. Frontline products are highly recommended by veterinarians for flea and tick control for dogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does FRONTLINE Plus kill fleas and ticks?

FRONTLINE Plus has 2 secret weapons: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Once FRONTLINE Plus is applied, this combo stores itself in the oil glands in your pet's skin. It then self-distributes continuously for 1 month to your pet's hair and skin through the hair follicles. Fleas or ticks that come in contact with your pet are dead meat.

How long does it take for FRONTLINE Plus to kill fleas?

In a study, FRONTLINE Plus began killing fleas 4 hours after application.1 Another study showed that within 12 hours, Frontline Plus killed 100% of fleas.2

Do fleas and ticks have to bite my pet for FRONTLINE Plus to work?

No. FRONTLINE Plus kills fleas and ticks through contact with your pet's haircoat. No biting necessary.

Why am I seeing more fleas on my pet after applying FRONTLINE Plus?

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's haircoat as they die. So if you start seeing more fleas after treating your pet, consider it a victory for the killing force.

After using FRONTLINE Plus, I still see fleas in my home. Why?

The fleas you see most likely started as flea eggs that were deposited in the environment before you began using FRONTLINE Plus. Consecutive monthly applications of FRONTLINE Plus will assist with the elimination of an indoor flea life cycle. In some geographical regions in the United States, it may be required to use the product year-round.

Does FRONTLINE Plus have an expiration date?

No. As long as you keep it at room temperature and sealed in its original packaging, FRONTLINE Plus will remain ready for battle.

How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?

FRONTLINE Plus remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 24 hours. If FRONTLINE Plus is to be applied after a bath, make sure your pet is completely dry before application.

Can I use it if my pet is on medication?

Before using FRONTLINE Plus, ask your vet about possible interactions with any medications your dog is taking.

Can I use FRONTLINE Plus if I have already applied another flea and tick control product?

Before using, consult your veterinarian.

Does FRONTLINE Plus kill anything else besides fleas and ticks?

You bet. FRONTLINE Plus also kills chewing lice.

Can FRONTLINE Plus be used on pets other than dogs and cats?

No. FRONTLINE Plus should be used on dogs and cats only. There are specific products based on what kind of pet you have and how much it weighs. Be sure to use the right product for your pet.

Can I apply it more than once a month?

Don't reapply FRONTLINE Plus before the month is through. It keeps working for a full 30 days.

How old does my pet need to be in order to have FRONTLINE Plus applied?

At 8 weeks your pet can start benefiting from the power of FRONTLINE Plus.

  • Not sure if this had expired date

I have always used this and Bailey never had any problems, I put it on earlier than normal due to warm weather and ticks being out, isn't repelling the ticks latching on and I'm having a heck of a time taking off, on head and ears which is very close to back neck area where I apply! I thought what a good price, to good to be true, but I guess u get what you pay for. Chewy has always made Bailey happy, but not this batch of frontline plus, because it's only a couple weeks I'm not sure if I should try another dose, vet says no! Probably old and that's why the good price, sorry guys, We love chewy but I just can't say that I was happy!

  • Fleas and Ticks

My Bichon is 10 years old and we have never used anything but Frontline on her. It works great. Apply as directed to get the maximum protection for your furbaby. She is very picky about her treats, so I also order them from Chewy.com. The prices and the customer service are fantastic.

  • Never a flea!

    By on

I've been using Frontline for dogs on my Australian Terrier for 12 years and she's never had a flea ever. It's easy to apply and fast drying. The price is great at chewy.com - better than at the Vets.

Just a note to Celia on April 1. Frontline does not have an expiration date. As long as it is kept at room temperature and kept in it's original packaging it is always good and ready to go.

  • Effective treatment

    By on

We live near a park in a semi-rural area so there is a potential for infestation and we have a doggie door that my dog uses constantly. I've used this product for almost a year and have had no flea or tick issues.

  • Frontline flea and tic prevention is easy to use and works well

    By on

Recommended by my vet I felt confident using it. Buying it when purchasing my other pet supplies from Chewy made it easy. Price was about the same. So great convenience for me.

I have been using Frontline on my Cocker Spaniel her entire 14 year life. I like the easy application and how it dries invisible on my dog. Also, my dog Mugsy has never had a flea nor tick on her body.

  • frontline and service

The vet recommended this and it works great. My little one is allergic to flea bites. He actually scratches himself open. Poor baby. But this stops his scratching. And love this site He also has a gluten allergy. And they were very helpful and tolerant of the many switches of brands on autoship until we found one he would eat consistently. They ship fast in two days. They were always pleasant.Great help
