  • Excellent treats and best way to give pills!

    By on

Greenies Pill pockets are a great way to give your dog the pills that they may have difficulty taking. They are a soft treat that is made from chicken. You just pop the pill inside the hole and squeeze it together to hide the pill inside. Then give your dog the treat. They won't even know the pill is inside. I have to give my dog 2 pills a day and I break the pill pockets in half and there is still enough of the treat to go around each pill. These are a must have if you have trouble giving your dog a pill. They are also great just to give as a treat!

  • Soft, Pliable, nice scent, must be tasty

Two of my three dogs have to take medications regularly, and one of the pills- has to be swallowed twice daily (thyroid). This works great. Right after they eat I open the bag, pull out 1 of these and all 3 dogs sit in front of me. I break pieces off of 1 of these and wrap the pills and give them to each of the dogs and the 3rd dog gets a piece without a pill. All 3 are happy, all 3 think they get a treat after every meal. They come running at the sound of the bag opening- even from outside, it's amazing. They like Chicken & Smoke flavor best.

  • A Life Saver!

Our Maltese needs to take seizure medication 3 times a day, and we were having an awful time getting it into him, both in his food and with our hands! We expressed this to our vet, who recommended using pill pockets, and now giving him his meds is a breeze! I would recommend them to anyone who has to give pills to their dog, or even as a treat. My other Maltese loves them, too!

  • These are a saving grace

So my poor dog had to get another course of medicine for roundworms, and these came in handy to get the couple of pills in her. They have a strong smell which should be attractive to reluctant dogs. Also I used this for a larger tablet, but it worked just fine I had to mush two of them together but the pill pockets are moldable to allow you to conceal the pill if your dog is super clever.

  • Thanks Chewy

I love the pill pockets for capsules, but should have gotten those for pills since I have a small chubby dog (but she is happy). Chewy is my favorite since my husband has Parkinson's and can't carry the food to or from the car and I have walking issues. Chewy brings it right to our door. I would recommend it for everyone!

  • Cannot beat Pill Pockets for happy pill takers!

    By on

Have been using Pill Pockets for one dog with several pills for heart disease and another for seizure meds. Since my 2 are on perm meds I buy the large capsule size pockets and separate in half and get better bang for the buck! I tried putting both large and small pills in other food - in other cheaper treats etc. - but the pill pocket is so easy I gave in to using it daily and forever. It feels like soft cookie dough and wraps around anything - dogs love it.

  • Pretty good pill disguise

    By on

I have two dogs that had to take a lot of medications. They initially took their pills in the pill pockets, but after a while refused them. I'm not sure if it was the Pill Pockets or that the medications were making them nauseated, and they just didn't want to eat anything. I've recently had to start giving the medication again and they both really seem to like the Pill Pockets. My only complaint is that sometimes I get a batch that seems old and dry-the ones I bought from my vet, not from Chewy, and the top doesn't close over the pills that well, and they crumble. I also use Lean Treats to disguise tablets, and to change things up a bit so the dogs don't get wise to me!

  • What a lifesaver!

Getting your pet to take pills is so challenging! If the pills are not flavored/chewable, end the frustration with these pill pockets. Give your pet an empty one so they know they like their newest treat. Be careful about handling the pill and the pocket - use one hand for each - cause dogs have great sniffers, right? No need to use hot dogs, peanut butter, or cheese; no more battles of will with your pet. Your pet gets a treat and you come out a hero!

Great product. No way would my dog take a pill. If I tried i probably would loose a finger!! I even put powdered medicine inside rather than mixed with his food. Tried that and he refused to eat every meal it was in. I recommend the capsule size even with pills and the 60 count!

  • My dog loves them.

Have an extremely picky dog who takes pills for her allergies. She will even turn her nose up at times when I bury her pill in cheese. I break up the pill pockets into three pieces instead of using the pocket as they come because it is too much for my small dog. Since using the pill pockets, giving her meds has been a fun time for my dog instead of a fight to get her pills down.
