  • Hi Tor Neo Dog Food Review

    By on

One of my youngest, a 10 month old has been diagnosed with early kidney failure. For dogs unlike people there aren't many choices. But one of the choices I can do to make her life easier is a diet made specifically for her already fragile kidneys. I choose the Hi Tor Neo Dog Food. Chewy.com had the food in stock and readily available. I ordered the food and it was here 2 days later. thank you. This food is much more economical than the prescription diets. I hope it works and gives Dottie more time with me. Thank you Marilyn Balikowsk

  • She eats it.

    By on

I have two English mastiffs and one was born with underdeveloped kidneys and was diagnosed with chronic Kidney failure. She was 100%raw, but she likes to eat what her brother eats, so I had been looking for a dry food she could eat. She is picky, so I am happy she likes it. She seems to love it. I will continue to buy it as long as she eats it.

  • Vet recommended

    By on

My male Sheltie had 13 stones in his urethra and was completely blocked. After the operation I showed my vet what I was feeding my Sheltie in response to the threat of stones in the future, and the vet said it was a fine choice. I also feed my dog a few tablespoons of the HI-TOR Veterinary Select Neo Diet canned dog food on top of the dry kibble food. I think the canned food makes his meals more tasty and provides him with more moisture in his diet. The vet said the added moisture was good, too. My dog likes the food, and Chewy makes it affordable.

  • Excellent Food for Kidney Failure

    By on

My 11 year old lab had blood work done and was in the early stages of kidney failure. I put her on this food, and now she's great. Also, my previous lab had the same issue when she was 9. The vet didn't think she would live more than 6 months to a year. I put her on this food and she lived another 6 years! Highly recommend this food! It is a lot more affordable than the Science Diet the vet wanted to sell me.

  • Corn based

    By on

One of primary ingredients is corn. Not ecessarily a great base for dogs. Potato is better

  • My dog loves the taste

    By on

Received the food and he was so interested in it. Let him try it and he immediately tried to shove his face in the bag. He's always been picky about food. Usually turns up his nose. Price is alot better than the other I was getting him.

  • Best food for renal disease

    By on

I have tried the available foods for renal failure. This formulation is right, the price is the best you can get for any of them, and the dogs LIKE IT!

  • Great for my dog

    By on

I've been buying this food for 3 years from the same store. I've noticed the food has changed in color dramatically. Has the food been changed recently?

  • Maybe my girl is too picky

    By on

I am not sure if my girl is being picky. But will not eat the food unless I add something to give it a taste or smell..I have been adding small amount to the things I have been cooking for her to get her to eat some of it.

  • May work when dog won't eat prescription food

    By on

Dogs with kidney disease tend to become very picky eaters because food doesn't taste right to them. This has happened with my dog. She no longer will eat the prescription kidney foods that are the best for her. I decided to try Hi-Tor Neo, and she likes it -- at least for now. I don't think the Hi-Tor Neo is of as good quality as the prescription foods, but I need something she will eat.
