Compared to other low-protein foods, this one is the best in my experience. My 13 yr old Rat Terrier is in renal failure and would not eat the k/d. I mix this food with cooked Tilapia and he loves it.

  • It really works!

My dog loves it and I saw a real improvement since he started to eat this! Only "negative", I wish they would have a 24 cans package so maybe it would be a little cheaper.

  • It's cheaper than science diet and my dog likes it!

This was a great find for me. It is a kidney specific diet, no prescription needed, less money than hills and my dog likes it. I also bake this as treats for her too.

  • He ate it, but it isn't his favorite

For those of us who have dogs with kidney disease, we all know what a struggle it can be to get our pooches to eat because it makes them not hungry. We started off strong with the Hi Tor food, but my foster dachshund decided this isn't his favorite. I would definitely recommend trying this for your dog if they require a prescription diet because the price is so wonderful, but he prefers a wetter formula.

  • didn't work for my dog

    By on

Initially my dog seemed to enjoy this food, but then her enthusiasm tapered off. Also, the cans in the interior of the case were badly dented (definitely not a shipping issue), which made removing the food difficult. I wish it had worked for my pet, and hope that other pet owners have better luck!

My dog liked this food better than the prescription food from the Vet's office.
