I use Ideal Balance for my newest family member Guinness. He is a 2+ old Black Lab/Border Collie mix and is so healthy and energetic. I attribute it largely to what he eats. His vet is happy with our food choices and we are good about not giving him people food as a rule. Ideal Balance has everything he needs to keep his coat and skin healthy and shiny, His teeth are strong and healthy and his eyes are clear and healthy. Key word here is HEALTHY. Thanks Hills. You have been a trusted provider for a long time and as long as we have pets will use your products. We also buy Hills treats!!

Both of my dogs became very sick after using another dog food the weekend of July 4th , One of them I had to rush to the vet. My vet had me switch them to Hills Vet Id to transition them to another brand of Hills. I chose Hills Ideal Balance. Once my two tried it , they loved it. My oldest dog who will be 8 soon has had so much energy lately and acts like a puppy. Their coats are super shiny and they are so happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PetNutritionistLauren Two Paws Up From Dachshunds!!
I own eight dogs and finding a food that they all agree on is difficult much less one that my babies can tolerate without making them itchy or bringing out their allergies. I was a little hesitant trying the Lamb formula as Lamb is more of a bland meat and not loved by all dogs but my dogs just love this!! For a Dachshund to gobble this up that rarely ever eats, like my Pippa, must mean it tastes delicious! Their skin is also doing so well and it even seems to have helped with a little gas problem I was having in my Lab mix rescue. Very happy with this food and will for sure be buying more!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by landl Recommended puppy dry food
My 7 month old puppy was previously on Hill's Ideal Balance Puppy, which is a chicken based dry food. She is a pretty picky eater, especially when it comes to dry food, so I figured I'd give this a try seeing as she loves venison, rabbit, and beef flavors. She was quite eager to eat the lamb and brown rice recipe, and as with all Hill's food, I trust her health and growth with this dry food. As for right now I'm keeping her on a puppy diet, but once she hits the one-year-old mark this is definitely going to be what I switch her to. I'd definitely recommend this food for adult dogs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by SherryN Ideal Balance works well with sensitive stomachs - no grains
After dealing with a severe case of hook worms in a rescue dog whose intestines were bloody from the worms, it was very difficult to find a food my dog could tolerate. All he could eat for several months was boiled brown rice and NATURAL cheese, After trying about 12 types of food, I went with Ideal Balance because it was natural, had no grains and it offered a brown rice and chicken flavor which was close to what he was used to. He liked the Brown Rice and Lamb also and I plan on keeping him on Ideal Balance since he is doing great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dogfoodie My dog loves it!
My dog loves Ideal Balance natural lamb & brown rice! She typically eats Natural Balance mature chicken & rice, but Hills sent us a free bag of the lamb version to try, and she can't get enough. It's obvious that these 2 food use the same process when they're made, because my dog is the pickiest eater! I've never seen her eat dry food by itself and now she loves 2 varieties! Her coat is great, skin is great, energy is great - she acts like a puppy & she's 10. I couldn't recommend Ideal Balance any more than I do. It's amazing.
