  • Product texture and taste varies from prior cans. Dog will not eat

The vet prescribed this food for my Jack Russell Terrier for his problem with prolonged loose stool. I was skeptical that he would eat it only because he always has been a very picky eater, and we had no luck with him eating other prescription food. Much to my surprise, he ate it. For the first few weeks, we got by on the supply given us by the Vet. When that ran out, I ordered a case of this from Chewy. As soon as I opened the first can, it looked different than the cans the Vet gave me. The food was mushy, and even looked somewhat different than the what the Vet supplied. And sure enough, my dog refuses it. My furry friend, a 12Y old Malti-tzu, has suffered with IBD for several years now and digestive issues have become more frequent lately. • d/d Duck Thoughts

    By on

My pup Murphy requires a special diet for skin & digestive issues. We started out with Venison/Potato and it was discontinued. We moved to Salmon and it was discontinued. We are now left with Duck. It has a pate-consistency which is very hard for her to eat. I have to add water to it so she can lap/lick it out of her bowl. While it doesn't smell as bad as the Salmon did, it is harder for her to eat.

  • My dog loved this canned food but...

we just got a new case and the texture of the food is very different then it has been. Our dog only ate half of it tonight. It has always been firm, and this new shipment the food is very soft (like baby food). Wondering if the formula changed?

First they stop making venison, now salmon. Only the duck is left and thankfully my dog likes it! Chewy has excellent delivery service. Highly recommended.

  • Successful Cange

    By on

Our seven year old lab has been on Hill's Prescription Diet venison for quite some time. Recently the canned venison just vanished. We were totally unable to find it anywhere whatsoever. When we talked to our vet she told us to try the duck formula and when looking for it we found you! He loves the duck and looks at us with a question face as to why we didn't get that for him before. The other wonderful change is the time it takes to get here. We thought Hill's was quick, but you got them beat hands down. Quick delivery is an understatement. Sometimes things happen for a reason. Thank you so much.

  • Good for everything

This food is great and my dog loves the taste. However, since it is a pate, she struggles eating it. Kind of like eating peanut butter.

  • Good quality prescription diet

    By on

We began to use Hill's Prescription Diet when our dog had allergy after our vet recommendation. It works well. His frequent diarea episodes are also stoped. I mix Duck or Venison formula canned food with dry food of same brand. Rufus don't scratch himself any more and don't have stomach problems.
