Feeding Instructions

Up to 10% of the daily energy needs can be met by feeding these treats while still maintaining an appropriate nutrient profile to aid in the management of the underlying disease. To ensure maximum effectiveness of the Prescription Diet brand dog food, limit Hypo-Treats to 10% or less of the dogs daily energy intake. Can be fed to pets on Prescription Diet z/d, d/d and i/d pet foods, as well as healthy dogs. Prescription Diet Canine Hypoallergenic Treats are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only.

Transition Instructions

A gradual transition to a new pet food is important to avoid digestive upset. To transition, mix your pet’s current food with the new food. Over 7 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current pet food while increasing the amount of new pet food. In some cases, your veterinarian may recommend no transition or a shorter transition time.

  • The Best Diabetic Treats Ever

    By on

My diabetic dog turns his nose up at anything diabetic --- but not these! (Most likely because diabetic food is bland.) Not only does he love these treats, but they take time to really chew. He can't gulp them down and thus enjoys them much longer. This is the third bag I have ordered with many more to come. Considering his condition and twice-daily injections, it's nice to know there is something I can give my pup that he just loves.

  • So far so good!

    By on

I've always fed my dog food and treats that I would consider "healthier" with ingredients that are more whole food based/organic with less additives etc. But my dog recently started having stomach issues and my vet thinks she might have IBD. She was put on the Z/D formula dog food and basically these treats are the only kosher thing she can eat aside from her kibble right now. So far it seems to be helping her stomach so I have no complaints!

  • Complement the ID diet

    By on

My dogs, who are on the ID diet, love these treats and they are as good on their sensitive stomachs as the kibble. I use a large sharp knife to cut these down into smaller pieces so that I can feed them lots of very small bites (about the size of the kibble) for training.

  • Love those Hypo-Treats!

    By on

Anyone who thinks hypo-allergenic means less than tasteful is so wrong! Being on a temporary restricted diet or not, these treats are great! You have a great selection of pet products and the delivery service is so convenient for my owner!

  • My dog loves these!!

    By on

I have a GSD with an autoimmune disorder and is on a very strict diet. He LOVES his cookies and I was so upset when he developed yet another allergy. (Potatoes) I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a cookie he could eat, that he liked and didn't cost a fortune. His vet recommended Hills Prescription Diet treats, and I couldn't be happier! He loves them and they are reasonably priced. Not only that, but he has not had any reactions to them!!

  • Great product for allergies

    By on

My dog is allergic to all proteins, most vegetables, rice, oats, potatoes and some fruit. So it is terrible when there is nothing available for giving treats. I'm so glad they have these now so my Buddy can enjoy a little treat without scratching himself raw. Highly recommend.

  • Wonderful

    By on

My 8 year old corgi had been spitting up bile regularly for a few days. He has always been on a special diet so I was quite concerned. My vet suggested we change his treats. He is quite finicky but I had no problem making the change. He loves these treats and is no longer spitting up. We are very pleased!
