Our dog suffers from chronic pancreatitis. Her food choices are limited and usually boring. Along comes Hill's ID Chicken/Veggie Stew and suddenly the food is tasty and exciting to our dog. Alas, I find the can nearly impossible to open. It's a tab that one lifts and pulls off. But arthritic fingers can barely fit in the tab, let alone have the strength to pull the tab. Even my husband has trouble pulling the tab off, and he got strength galore! Also, if you own a medium or long haired dog, I'll warn you in advance that his/her chin hairs will constantly be soiled with food. • All of Dogs love this stuff

    By on

We got a new little dog who got a little stressed and ended up with diarrhea. We started feeding him one of our other dog's Prescription Diet I/D Low Fat and it helped a lot. When we took him to our vet for his new pet physical, the vet suggested we continue feeding him the I/D for a while longer. I asked about the non-Low Fat version because this poor guy was extremely thin. The vet gave us this stew and he loves it as do all our other dogs. With 9 senior dogs there seems to always be one with a growling stomach or who doesn't want to eat. This stew is working out great when we give it to them on a temporary basis. Not one has refused to eat it.

  • Thumbs up again!

This "stew" is unappealing visually to me. The photo on the can shows a shade of brown stew, however, it's actually a grey sauce and grey meat "cubes" in the can. (The cubes appear to be ground chicken in various sizes of lumps/cubes.) A minimum amount of carrot slivers and rice grains are in sauce...and there is a lot of sauce. As they say, "the proof is in the pudding," hence, my thoughts are overridden by my dog's taste buds. He loves it! One good thing with the ground chicken cubes: I can easily mold a few small pieces around my dog's daily Denamarin pill. No more struggling at pill time. His bowl is always licked clean.

  • Picky dogs ambrosia!

I have a 14 year old yorkie who has never been excited for meal time. After getting really sick, the vet had me give this to feed him. I was worried he would turn his nose up at it. This food, my pup goes CRAZY for. He gets excited for food time and even whines at me if I miss the normal times he eats. He dances and yaps until I put the bowl down and his face is immediately in the bowl and doesn't leave until it's licked clean!

  • My dogs love this

I switched to this product when the product I was using was no longer available on the market. I did not know how the dogs would react. To my surprise, they both loved it. The younger dog actually could not wait to be fed. Both dogs try and move up their feeding time.

  • Food for "chubby" picky eaters!

    By on

My dogs are picky eaters, plus they have digestive problems (which have cleared up after switching to this food). My girl will eat this without any problems but I still have to "dust" a little locatel cheese on my boy's food so he thinks he has something from the table!

  • Great Product, Convenience and Customer Servive

8 yo Beagle mix doing great on this food and really likes it. Having it shipped free rather than having to haul it home from vet is a great plus. And when I did have a problem (couple cans arrived crushed) it was immediately resolved.

  • ID Dog Food

    By on

My two dogs really go for the stew, one likes the turkey and one really doesn't. The Stew is more pricey but got to find something she will eat and will keep down. Wish we could get a better discount on this but the dogs really like it.

  • Very good food

My 2 babies love this food. Guinness is very picky with food and never wants to eat and would get upset stomach out of nothing. Today he is a happy eater and does not get any upset stomach.
