Rated 5 out of 5 by TechSue10 J/D is the best food for pets suffering from joint issues
My 10 year old hound mix, Rosie, has had off and on left rear leg lamness since she was about 4 years old. X rays revealed no issues in her hips and her knees are sound. For the first couple of years I managed her with supplements and NSAIDs as needed when the limp became too bad. In 2010, I was discussing her on-going problems with our Hills rep and he suggested trying her on J/D. It took about 6 weeks but I noticed she hadn't limped in quite a while. In fact in the four years she has been eating J/D her limp has become almost non-exsistant! This despite the fact her favorite playmate is some 8 years younger than she is and almost twice her size! And they do play hard! I recommend J/D to clients at the clinic I work at for pets having mobility problems exclusivly. And when they balk at the price I explain to them that by feeding J/D the need for supplements and NSAIDs is reduced thereby acutally saving them money! I am so impressed by J/D that all of my dogs are now on this diet!

This was the first time I ordered Hills Prescription Diet from Chewy. First of all, I was impressed with the quick delivery and the packing of the food.
I now found a new store to buy all my dog's food. Thank you for the great service.

I was working as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic when this product became available. I was feeding a common brand of dog food in addition to a joint supplement and a skin/coat supplement. My dog was the type to hate taking pills of any kind. I immediately did the math, and per day, feeding this premium diet was cheaper than my current daily feeding. I put both my 12 year old dog who had had both cruciates repaired, and my healthy 6 year old dog on this diet. They both loved the taste immediately, and I was no longer needing to give daily supplements. In addition to the joint benefits... the skin and coat of both dogs improved greatly. I have been feeding this exclusively ever since. When the older dog passed away at 14.5 (a 70lb newfoundland/husky mix) people still asked if she was a puppy. The younger dog is now 11.5 and you'd never know it!
I also saw MANY people with similar results when they tried the diet over the course of my remaining years at the vet clinic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by uvlaw Really Seems to Help Arthritis and/or Hip Dysplasia
This J/D dogfood really seems to help canine arthritis and/or Hip Dysplasia.
We have a five year old female setter who is very active, but was showing a limp and other signs of hip pain. She was diagnosed at a major university vet hospital with fairly severe hip dysplasia and/or arthritis, and as a candidate for hip replacement. They also prescribed the J/D dogfood, and it definitely seems to help her, she limps a lot less and has gone back to a nearly normal level of activity. The effect of the dogfood looks like it will enable us to postpone her hip surgery.
We also have a 13 year old male setter, who seemed to be slowing down some. We thought it was just age, not arthritis. Nevertheless, we started feeding him the J/D too. By a couple of weeks later, his activity level was noticeably higher, he is up and running around again! We also have a friend with an old arthritic dog, and they say their dog perked up a lot too when they started feeding the J/D.
Seems to be a very good product that is genuinely helping our dogs....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wideeyes3 My Pyr loves it!
My Great Pyrenees' hips are not great...he was having some stiffness when rising from lying down and his bunny hop while running let me know he was in pain. I am a vet tech and know the signs. Also, hips and joints are such a major concern with giant breeds. I tried joint supplements but only saw a slight improvement. Once I started him on the J/d, however, is when I saw the biggest change. He loves the food....in fact he drooled every time I fed him for about 2 weeks. His coat is better than it has ever been and he is so much more willing to run and get on and off furniture. I see him happily patrolling the yard and protecting his 3 little dogs and 2 cats now in a way that I did not see before. I am also able to keep him trim and lean on J/d to further decrease stress on his joints. I love the food and recommend it to every giant breed owner. I know that I am improving and extending his life and that means I have more time with my giant fluffy sweet bear dog.
