Rated 4 out of 5 by BeauHannah Dog didn't like it by week 4.
Someone else had a similar review. My 11yo lab who has primary copper storage disease ate this food just fine for about 4 weeks. Then suddenly he doesn't want it. We have another dog in the house, so our dog just sits and stares at the old food bin and tries to get the other dog's food. Ironically, the other dog wants to eat the L/D food. I've tried mixing in bits of rice, cottage cheese, and boiled chicken breast. However, he tries to just eat those bits. This dog has always eaten everything, even non-food items, so I'm just baffled. However, he has to be on this low copper diet. It's incredibly frustrating. I wonder if the chelation drugs have caused a change in his taste preferences or if this was just an inevitable realization that the stuff I'm putting in his bowl isn't as tasty as the old stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nevdolly Liver Enzymes did go down
This dog food, pared up with a SAME supplement, did help my dogs bad liver enzymes go down this month. Hopefully it does the same again next month.
My dog seems to enjoy the food as well. Way better price on Chewy. com than at the pet store too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anna My dog needs a diet n also for her liver.
I finally found a dry food my dog loves and also needs. She's over weight and also has a inflamed liver. So I'm happy I found this food she likes and hopefully looses some weight.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Daisy Dog Would Spit This Out
I wish that my dog liked this prescription dog food but even when I mixed it with her previous prescription food and mixed in scrambled egg whites, she managed to spit out the individual Hills kibble. Now I have to admit that she is a VERY picky dog regarding her food....so when you read this review please take that into consideration. I may be consulting a canine nutritionist and start home-cooking for her particular liver issue....which is a big deal since I hardly cook for myself!! But for my girl - anything!!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Doxielover For dogs with liver enzyme problems
My 14 year old miniature dachshund developed a liver enzyme abnormality a couple of years ago. She's been on Hills Science Diet Liver Care kibble ever since and her most recent bloodwork has her enzymes near normal. Although her eye sight and hearing are failing, she's very healthy and energetic for an elderly pup. On walks, she pulls hard enough on the lead that she could pass for a sled dog! Her appetite is good and she scarfs down her Liver Care kibble like it's hamburger.
