Description

Food sensitivities and intolerance are potentially serious problems that can result in sensitive or irritated skin, coat and ear conditions or even gastrointestinal upset. Dogs that have a food sensitivity or intolerance, also called adverse reactions to food, typically experience an abnormal response to the protein in the food. If your dog suffers from adverse reaction to food, it is even more important to feed the right food. Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians developed Prescription Diet z/d clinical nutrition especially formulated to support your dog's skin and food sensitivities. In fact, z/d is clinically proven nutrition to help avoid adverse reactions to food.

Key Benefits

  • Helps improve digestion and stool quality with highly hydrolyzed protein
  • Helps eliminate food related causes of skin irritation and results in visible improvement to the skin and coat
  • Helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and enriched with essential fatty acid
  • Developed with a single carbohydrate source: Corn Starch
  • Clinically proven antioxidants are added for optimal health benefits

Special Note

  • Excellent Product

    By on

My elderly Yorkies have developed several health issues, which include skin & allergies problems as well as digestive issues- They have always been fed a high quality dog food but nothing seemed to help until my vet recommended using Hills Prescription dog food. The itching has subsided and no stomach issues. Only negative is the cost- expensive! Chewy has great customer service- assisted with getting prescription faxed. Also have used Hills I/D formula for diarrhea symptoms-Both are excellent products.

  • Arrived Damaged

    By on

This is life saving food for my dog, and it's very convenient to be able to order it online and have it delivered instead of picking it up at the vet's office. However, this was my first time ordering and 3 of the 12 cans were dented. Two of them so severely I will not serve them to my dog because I worry bacteria could be growing inside. For the cost of this type of specialty food, I'm very disappointed that I will have to throw part of my purchase out. If this happens again on my next auto ship I will most likely be discontinuing.

  • Spent years with ear infections until now.....

    By on

After several failed attempts to cure chronic ear infections in our Standard Poodle, our vet finally suggested perhaps our dog was allergic to her former diet. We have switched her over to two hydrolized protein diets one of which is the Hill's Z/D. We mix her food with Royal Canin hydrolized protein products to give her variety. After one year on this regimen she has not had any ear problems at all!!!!

  • Happy dog happy owner

    By on

My aussie mix has suffered with skin issues for several years. I've made multiple diet changes and her veterinarian finally recommended this prescription diet for her. She is doing great with her new diet. Her coat is beautiful and she is back to her playful self.

  • If your dog has allergies...

    By on

Feed them this. My dog is allergic to the planet and he can eat this food. I buy the dry food and make gravy with the cans plus water. They also make treats. He's been on this food for 10+ years.

  • Food for precious pup

    By on

I was skeptical when the Vet said we had to change her food! I know this dog and I know what she'll eat! I was sure a 'diet' wasn't going to work! I was VERY WRONG!! She loves the food she's on! There was NO lag time to adjust! She asks for it every time I darken the kitchen door!! All I can say is, 'good job!'

  • Canned prescription dog food for Duke

    By on

Duke is a twelve year old miniature pincher/cock-a-poo mix. He has eaten Wellness kibble, since he was a puppy. Now, in his senior years, his veterinarian has put him on a strict diet of Hill's prescription diet for skin and food sensitivities. He will be on this for the rest of his life. Thank goodness, he is enjoying both the can and kibble Hill's diet. I am glad I can order it from Chewy and have it delivered to my doorstep in only a day or two.

  • Totally Onboard

    By on

Love the idea of ordering food for our little dog online. No more running out to buy it or finding it's out of stock and being in a bind when it's a prescription food you can't get just anywhere. This is so convenient, and delivery is amazingly quick. Can't say enough good about Chewy.

  • I was vomitting and had diahria

    By on

I was vomitting and had diahria long enough that you could see a significant change in my waistline. A trip to the pediatrician said it was anything from sensitive stomach to cancer. Fortunately for me, my human went with the lesser of evils and purchased this food for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! My other food, which was also top shelf, would sit in my bowl all day and I would eat it at my leisure, unless of course my cousin stopped by, then I would wolf it down. But this stuff, MMMMMM, I wake my human up in the morning and then start reminding them early afternoon that I want to eat! Thank you Hill's, I am one happy puppy. Sincerely, Miley

  • Good for dog allergies

    By on

My dog has an allergy making her lick her bottom (more often than usual). This food has cured her from this problem. Also she loves the food. We have another dog with no problems and she loves the food also. We also bought the dry food - they love that also.
