  • Effective AND our pup loves it!

BLUF: Great alternative to antibiotics/steroids for skin issues, and my Koa loves it. So I have a kind of pit/vizsla/hound mix and she's always had skin issues. In the past we always went the meds route but it doesn't help find the source of the allergies. Although I won't only use this food long-term, it's a great option to taking the first step. In my very non-expert explanation, Koa's body doesn't recognize the potential allergens in the food since the proteins are broken down to their teeniest form. Will re-introduce proteins in addition to this food eventually. Also, Koa is a free feeder and has always grazed her food or even skipped meals. • My dogs drool for this food!

    By on

My American Bulldog had a terrible skin allergy to the point where we didn't know how long she would last in the condition she was in. It seemed to be a food allergy and after a year of trying different foods our vet recommended this food. She's a different dog and back to her old energetic self. My small dog is a senior and she also loves it! Can't say enough about this food!!!!!

  • mix with canned food

    By on

By the time my dog had been introduced to the z/d hard food she had had her food changed per Vet several times and decided not to eat anything. I mixed in the canned z/d food and she loves it and actually wants more. Very happy although as a senior her food is quite costly for me but less expensive than the Vet and the free shipping is great!

  • Wish we had found this food sooner!!!

    By on

After countless times at the vet and racking up hundreds (probably over a thousand) dollars in vet bills with no answers as well as many sleepless nights with a sick dog, we were recommended this food by a litter mate owner! It has been a saving grace to our pup with digestive issues. He seems to really dig the flavor as well! I highly recommend this for anyone whose dog struggles with any sort of digestive problems.

  • hills prescription diet zd/sensitive skin and stomach

    By on

I purchased the dog food and my dog really loves it. I have noticed she doesn't seem to have the stomach problem, pain and crying out, that she was experiencing. We thought she was experiencing gas and the pain was intolerable. She has not had a episode since starting the zd food. Her scratching still persists so not sure if it is food related or environmental.

I have two purebred Boxer's one female and one male. I also have a ten year old small dog. They are both about two year's old now. My male started showing signs of skin issues and extremely itching as well as not being able to keep anything down when he was around four months. We went to the vet and tried many different diets with none working. The vet suggested that I try the ZD prescription dog food. My male boxer loved it and his conditions slowly went away. My female boxer and little dog also enjoyed it. All three are now on this food. Between all three of them I go though about a 25lb bag every two weeks. They all have beautiful soft coats, there in perfect weight, they all have beautiful I have two purebred Boxer's one female and one male. I also have a ten year old small dog. • so far so good

    By on

This was prescribed for my dog who is apparently allergic to meat! The package arrived quickly and in good condition. The dog will eat the food, though she'd really rather have the 'meaty' kind the other dogs get. Poor girl has to have the expensive Rx kind.

  • It seems to work

Max our 3 yr old German Shepherd that weighs in at 135 lbs is a picture of health, but for the scratching he had. With this new food for the past three weeks he hardly scratches now. It seems to have cured his problem. This pic is when he was 3 months old. Larry S.

  • Interim change of dog food

    By on

The vet recommended this prescription diet food for my dog's sensitivities. I am transitioning her to the new food and we are at 90% new and 10% previous food. So far there has been marked improvement in her scratching behavior and at 100% new food she should continue to do well.

  • My dog loves it!

My dog had such bad skin allergies from food. I fed her chicken, rice, and veggies for the last six months. This is the first dog food she has been able to tolerate. Now, I have more time to play with her, instead of cooking her food every day!
