Description

Himalayan Dog Chew is a very hard chew. Although cheese, it is sometimes popularly referred to as Concrete, Glass, Wood and Metal. Depending on the size and eating habits of the dog, this is a very long-lasting dog chew. Dogs must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small parts of it can be slowly scraped off.

Himalayan Dog Chew is 100% natural with no preservatives. It is an authentic type of cheese eaten by the people of the Himalayas. When you give this chew to your dog, you know that you are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment.

Key Benefits

  • Made from 100% yak and cow milk, salt, and lime juice, and takes hours of chewing to soften it enough to scrape a tasty bite off
  • All-natural treat, no binding agents, and is grain & gluten free
  • Great for removing plaque and promoting oral health
  • Low odor and non-staining
  • Fully digestible and a healthy treat

Cautions

Always supervise your pet during consumption. Remove any potentially hazardous materials immediately. Consult your veterinarian if your dog has food sensitivities or medical issues before feeding.

  • Great for dogs who can't have bones

    By on

I have struggled a bit with finding good and affordable chews for my boy as he can't have bones due to his lack of complete digestion with them. He's uninterested in some and others just don't last very long. This chew was great. Firstly, he was interested the first time and then continues every time I give it to him. It's nearly scent-free. The only smell is of smoked cheese but it is very slight and you can only smell it if you stick your nose right up on the wet area your dog was just chewing on. It's also relatively clean. Little chips fall off sometimes but my dog just licks them right up most of the time even when he eats in his kennel. The ability to soften it in the microwave when it gets smaller or a chunk breaks off is cool too. He has make it through 2/3 or so of the chew and it has been just short of 3 weeks. He is a moderate chewer and has probably given it a solid 9 hours of chewing altogether. I give him some time with it after our training sessions. … more

  • Doggie liked it!

I gave this chew to my dog and he held it in his mouth for a moment then ran outside and immediately buried it. He decided it was his most prized possession. He spent the next hour or two running around the yard burying, digging up, and reburying his chew. Finally he decided to dig it up and eat it. Unfortunately it only took him about an hour and a half to eat almost the entire thing, but he's a complete power chewer. (He can go through an elk antler in a month.)

  • Good chew if your dog likes the taste

    By on

My favorite thing about these is that they aren't as smelly as bully sticks or other animal based chews. I have a Pomeranian that's a big chewer so I hoped she'd go for these but she's not super into it. After some encouragement she will go in on it but it wasn't love at first sight like with her bully sticks. We got the small size and I do think that the size of the chew is too large - it isn't as long but it's still very thick and I think it's uncomfortable for her to fit it in her mouth.

My 10 mth old German Shepard dog loved this chew immediately. He began rolling around with it, rubbing it all over his face, then settled in to chew. His eyes at half mast, chew between the front paws, steadily chewing away.....I couldn't get his attention, lol. I took it away after he got up for a drink, so he would actually eat his dinner. Much better than bones or other softer chews for durability and safety. It is high calorie so he only gets to chew for a bit each day. Will definitely reorder.

  • Excellent Long-Lasting Chew

    By on Top 50 Contributor

These chews do last a long time, and our dog loves them. Some last longer than others. Not sure if some are harder/cooked longer or if some are more fresh and extra enticing ..but they are cheaper than a day at daycare. If I had to buy one of these everyday our dog had to go to daycare, that would be ok with me as it's $10 cheaper than a full day and puppy daycare. Haha. I like the fact that nothing goes to waste because when it gets down to a nub you pop it in the microwave and have a large cheese ball...basically. So you aren't just throwing away the left overs like with other chews. She has perfect breath and I think these contribute to that. We purchase the largest size , which seems to last the longest for Naia , even though she is only 60 pounds. I definitely reccomend giving a yaky stick a try! … more

  • longest lasting chew for my teething puppy

    By on

I don't want to give my lab puppy raw hide or bully sticks mainly because she goes through them SO quick and swallows them whole. I tried these based on the recommendation of a friend. They are amazing! Some last longer than others and I'm not sure why. She went through one in 2 days and our last one has last 2 weeks. She loves them. I like that they are all natural and none of it goes to waste. I make sure to always have one on hand. Chewy's prices are great. I highly recommend these!

  • Its just alright

    By on

I like that this product is something natural and I'm not giving my dogs any chemicals or anything they shouldn't have like some other he's and treats... I don't like that it didn't last long as advertised. My dogs aren't even powerful chewers.. labs, bird dogs, so a gentle bite. Had it broken in half in about two days. That was my main disappointment with this product. This one is okay, but there are better alternatives out there that do last.

  • keeps my pup busy

    By on

We bought this as another option for our dog to chew on. It's pretty long lasting for our golden retriever, who has recently turned into a super chewer. With other chew products, we've had problems with our dog swallowing them too early because they're too small for her to hold, but they're too large to swallow. I like that you can put this in the microwave so it'll expand. It gives me a little more piece of mind that she won't choke.

  • Not as long lasting as I expected

    By on

First off, my dog loved this. However, from the reviews I expected it to be longer lasting than it was. My pup isn't a power chewer but he ate quite a bit off of it within a couple hours - I was more expecting this to last him weeks. Overall a good product and definitely longer lasting than a bully stick (without the smell). Dog loved it but I probably won't buy them regularly at this price

  • Fussy Lab Adores & it LASTS!

    By on

Our 115 yellow lab sticks up his nose at 90% of the chews we have bought (and rightfully so, they have so much nasty stuff in them), the other 10% are consumed within 10 minutes. He happily chewed for a couple of hours until I bribed it away from him to save for another day! Great substitute for a large strong dog who is used to having a butcher cut beef bone, stuffed with roast beef to get his chewing fix. (Allergic to tons of stuff).
