Description

Himalayan Dog Chew is a very hard chew. Although cheese, it is sometimes popularly referred to as Concrete, Glass, Wood and Metal. Depending on the size and eating habits of the dog, this is a very long-lasting dog chew. Dogs must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small parts of it can be slowly scraped off.

Himalayan Dog Chew is 100% natural with no preservatives. It is an authentic type of cheese eaten by the people of the Himalayas. When you give this chew to your dog, you know that you are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment.

  • Low odor and non-staining
  • Fully digestible and a healthy treat

  • Wonderful product!

I have four dogs and I've never been able to find a chew that last longer thank 10 minutes. My most aggressive chewer is an 85 pound male donor that can chew up bully sticks in minutes. I let him chew on this for 45 minutes and he only had 1/3 of it gone. So I took it and saved it for a later day. My older female dobie and young pup had theirs just as long but had hardly made a dent in them. Seriously, there were only scratches. So, the longevity of these will depend on the size and chewing power of your dog.

  • A chew that lasts

    By on

This is the only chew that I've come across that lasts longer than 5 minutes with my dog. Due to its natural ingredients and durability, I never have to worry about my pup swallowing a large piece or sharp edges. If it does happen to break into pieces (I've accidentally dropped it before) you can microwave the pieces so they expand into edible chews. I will add that when my dog was very young, she was not really interested in the chew unless it was microwaved and "fluffed up". Now she's 7 months old and can't get enough of them as is. Great product!

  • Better than rawhide chews.

    By on

I got this chew treat for my GSP...age 5 (?) She was hesitant at first, but after she started, she chewed on it for about one and half hours.....got it about half gone. When I give it to her again, I will be sure to monitor her so she doesn't get it small enough to swallow and choke or cause a blockage. I do like they way they have microwave directions for the last small piece so it can all be consumed. It is the only chew I will get for her...I will also get her a bigger size. This one was a medium for dogs up to 55 lbs....she weighs 70#.... Hoping that will last a little longer. They are more costly, but I believe they are better for my dog.

  • Don't last like they used to

    By on

I used to love these chews, but they don't last like they used to. I gave the extra large to my 9-month-old, 80-pound shepherd (who has been chewing on these since he was 12 weeks old) last night thinking I'd let him chew on it for 30 minutes and take it away, but when I went to go take it from him, it was gone! I was shocked! An 8-inch yak stick that used to last a week or more was gone in 30 minutes. And more importantly, ten bucks down the drain. I don't know if they're just not making them like they used to or if my boy has just gotten more aggressive with his chewing, but either way, these are no longer viable options for us. This is our 13lb dogs go to chewy. She does not get sick of them at all. She has been eating them for over a year. We go through 1 bag a month. When they get small you can put them in the microwave and they will puff up and you can give it back to dog. She does not like it that way. So when it is small we take it from her. In the stores they are very, very expensive. The sizes are usually all equal. The last bag I got had a smaller one in it, which I am not sure I will give it to her. Should have called them right away. But did not open bag until last week and the order was from Jan. I am sure that they would have taken care of it. • Long Lasting Chew

    By on

We have an Australian Shepard and an AussieDoodle both are large dogs and they go through chews in a matter of minutes. These last for a good long time and when they get down to a couple of inches I'm able to put them in the microwave to puff them up and then give them to them after they cool. No stomach problems and we buy about 4 a month. :)

  • Excellent baby-sitter, AKA treat!

    By on

My daughter introduced our dog to this treat. The first one lasted him a couple of weeks. Microwaved the end as suggested and he loved it. This time, bought two based on his weight. First one he gobbled down a LOT more quickly than I anticipated and didn't have a chance to microwave the end. Second one, we're limiting his time in chewing it so it will last longer. But he loves to gnaw on it and it keeps him occupied longer than some other "treats."

  • Dog likes, lasted half hour

    By on

40 lb feist really liked it...wouldn't put it down. Took her half an hour to chew, non stop, until it was gone. She snatched up every last crumb (not too many, but crumbs do break off during chewing). Unfortunately, had a very soft stool the next morning.

  • A bit hard to chew for my dog

    By on

My dog's not a heavy chewer, but he did seem to enjoy this the first time I gave it to him. He barely made a dent in it, though, and after that, it's pretty much been untouched. He usually likes large chews, but the large size in the one-pack may have been too big for him. The product softens after some chewing, and has a nice "campfire" smoky smell. It seems like a high-quality treat and I can see why some dogs would love this. I'm going to give the smaller three-pack size a try.

  • Good product

    By on

This is one of the longest lasting types of chews I've found for my German Shepherd and she loves it! It lasts her about 45 minutes to an hour. Also love that the end piece can be microwaved into a big cheese puff and is not wasted. The only downside for me would be the price; wish it wasn't so costly. Other than that I think its a pretty decent product.
