Description

Just one healthy, pristine ingredient…Beams are made from pure, wild-caught Atlantic Catfish* skins, from the clean ocean waters of Iceland, dried into savory, chewy sticks. They’re guaranteed to satisfy the pickiest of pups and are the perfect treat alternative to dried chicken snacks or bully sticks! (*Atlantic Catfish is a marine fish, which is different from domestic freshwater catfish found in the United States!)

Beams are an excellent source of lean protein, they’re also lower fat and are a good source of Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids. Fish is an excellent treat for dogs who have sensitivities to more common protein sources.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite! We have 4 dogs, two English Setters and two beagles. Rarely do they agree on a favorite treat! But knowing how much they all enjoy fish, we tried The Honest Kitchen Beams. My stars but they love them!! While they don't snap into pieces, they are easily snipped with scissors or shears into smaller pieces for the beagles, though Mary the beagle thinks she needs a whole piece just for her! Great product, happy dogs, thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't imagine running out of this! I have 2 rescued girls; a 65lbs and an 80lbs. They just LUV these sticks! They chew them longer than any other treat and they keep "asking" for them when they know is "treat time". Personally, I feel goid giving my girls something that's healthy and tasty. I can't imagine ever run out of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stinky but of course the dogs love them Chewy and all three of our dogs love them. It doesn't take long for them to be devoured, but no choking or swallowing problems. The skin of the fish is rich in antioxidants and oils. Good for your dogs. Of course, they do smell like fish!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't really know how to rate this.. Pros: TONS of fish skins, great packaging, seemingly high quality ingredients. Cons: My 7 year old golden retriever, whom I affectionately call my "garbage dog" because she eats everything in sight, thought these chews were meant for rolling on. I left her in the back yard with one of these, confident that she'd gobble it down, and when I let her back in I thought, "What is that ungodly smell?" Oh. It's my dog. The next morning when I was in the yard with her, I found the soggy, partially masticated entity that was the Honest Kitchen Catfish sitting, uneaten, in the grass. Two days later and she was still trying to roll in it. I finally threw it away. It's weird because whenever I grill salmon I always give her the crispy skin left over and she inhales it without a second glance. So I guess... if you have a dog that likes to roll in stuff - or doesn't, like mine - just keep a really sharp eye on him/her the first time you give out one of these. I really wish I had. Otherwise these seem great! Now excuse me while I go rub peppermint oil under my nose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All natural chew that will have your pet BEAMing in delight This is one tough fish skin chew. We got a box of TALLS. Each piece was about 10 ~ 12" long, and each box was generously stuffed with at least 10 pieces. Both of my dogs devoured their stick with gusto. The more vigorous chewer (30 pounds) finished his in about 5 minutes, while the daintier one (20 lbs.) took twice as long. With its hard texture and ridged surface, it seems like a great dental workout. While the product does smell very strongly of fish, at least there's no mistaking the ingredients -- pure Icelandic fish skin, which is sustainably caught, I might add. My dogs generally do well with fish-based products, which is part of why they have such great skin and coats. This product is not terribly oily or messy though... not that the dogs so much as a crumb to clean up. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried again better batch I guess I once tried this with my border collie and at first he would not eat it. I actually donated the box. The box had many pieces that were very wide and impossible to narrow down. Fast forward to now, my friend gave him one and he wolfed it down. I noticed the pieces were firmer and more narrow and less stinky. So, I ordered a box from chewy and the pieces in this box are firmer and narrower---and he loves it. My only fear is that I order it again and wind up with a box like the first one as it appears to be an inconsistent product. All boxes were purchased from chewy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pass on these My whippet loves anything and everything fish related except these treats. The skins are so tough that she can't chew them. The first one I gave her she grabbed immediately and ran to her spot to eat it. Instead she dropped it and left it. She came back occasionally and licked it. She tried to chew it and couldn't. In the meantime it smelled up my house!!! It was worse than cooking fish and leaving leftovers out. I was expecting her to love these but they were a big flop. I'd pass on purchasing these.
