Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 97 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dog loves his green slop! This is my first time trying dehydrated food and I was disheartened when I opened the box to find a bag of green sawdust that smelled like the protein powders you get from the health food store. It didn't get any better when I added water and it turned into green soup that still had that protein powdery smell. But it must've smelled good to my dog because he was sticking close to me like velcro the whole time I was preparing it. After it thickened up into powdery smelling green oatmeal, I still thought "there's no way he's going to eat this" but his tongue was going before I even got the bowl down and he licked the bowl clean, as well as the spoon I used to stir the food. The downside for me is because of the consistency, his tongue flings little bits of green mush everywhere, so I have a lot of floor area to wipe up post-meal. Upsides are no digestive problems, his breath is better, and of course, he loves it! I got 3 different brands to sample, and we're on to the 2nd one and my dog ate it, but with much less gusto, for about a week, and now won't touch it unless I mix it with his old canned food. I think we'll probably end up coming back to this one permanently. October 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This food is great for our dogs We absolutely love this food! Our dogs have lost several pounds on this food and has so much more energy. They also gobble it up! December 8, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dogs would rather starve! I have 4 dogs, 3 would absolutely eat anything....except for this food. They all hate it. I've tried for a week straight feeding them this. Come to the conclusion they would rather starve. So, I am feeding them something different now, so they didn't starve themselves. Now I am trying to figure out a way to make some dog treats out of this, and disguise the flavor, so I don't waste all the money I put into this food. November 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Product I had high hopes for this product, but after 2 weeks 2 of my 3 girls didn't want to eat it. After alternating flavors they ate it. I guess, my girls are just spoiled. Honest Kitchen is a great product. Just for reference, it more like mush instead of pate or chopped meat. It is also easy to store. October 27, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not for our family, but that doesn't mean it's not for others. A complete bust. Many of my dogs are picky eaters, and they are allowed to be since a good number of them are permanent fosters for a senior/hospice rescue. As such, their food needs can vary widely so we decided to try this product. Not one of our crew would touch it, although they all gave it a thorough sniff. The bowls were left in case they wanted to sample later, but to no avail. The cat slso declined, as did our flock of chickens when we put the bowls out in the yard. So onto the rescue this package (and a rather pricey package) will go to see if other dogs in the sanctuary find it palatable. Stay tuned? September 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good for travelling I feed raw at home and use the Base Mix to add to beef or chicken. When travelling, the Honest Kitchen Beef recipe is a perfect substitute October 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice addition to what I already feed Great to add to what I already feed. But mine don't like it well enough to eat it as a stand alone food. They loved it the first week and are now not as excited about it. But love it as a topper for their regular food. September 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dogs said, "No thanks." Had been feeding my dogs a grain-free food from Honest Kitchen. One dog liked it ok, the other wasn't really into it. Saw this and thought, 'Cheaper than grain-free, high quality grain. Should be fine.' It wasn't. They started scratching, to the point of sores. And before long were absolutely refusing to eat. I happened to buy some Stella and Chewy dehydrated dog food on clearance at my local pet store and within 1 day the scratching stopped and even my not-food-motivated pup was leaping to get at her food. We've switched. Feeding the rest of this food to my chickens... August 7, 2016
