Their grain-free recipes are great for pups with sensitivities, and the whole grain options are made with organic rolled oats. They're less processed than regular dry food, and dehydrated to retain their natural goodness and flavor.

Each recipe is made with real, whole foods that are minimally processed, not fractions of ingredients. A gentle dehydration process preserves the natural nutrients, rich flavors and wholesome nutrition. You won't find any artificial additives, GMOs, chemical preservatives, by-products, fillers or preservatives.
100% Human Grade From Farm to Bowl
Human grade means that it's good enough for humans to eat, but formulated just for pets. The Honest Kitchen follows the same quality standards for their pet food as the foods you would find at the grocery store. They source the highest quality ingredients directly from the human food chain and produce their recipes in the USA in an FDA-inspected human food facility.
Just Add Water for a Meal in Minutes
Every 10-pound box of The Honest Kitchen dog food contains concentrated nutrition that rehydrates to 40 pounds of fresh food. Works Great! (Looks like green puke!)My 14 1/2 yr old Labrador was stricken with pancreatitis twice in two months. The vet didn't offer much hope at her age. When she improved enough to go on a modified diet I began to search for a healthy food that was easier than boiling chicken and rice! That's when my groomer/trainer told me about HONEST KITCHEN! I checked with our Vet and he said to try it.
The powder smells like a cross between stuffing mix and a seasoning pack inside Ramon Noodles, seriously! I followed the directions on the box (mix with warm water and let stand 3 minutes.) Well it looked like watery puke! But my dogs tail was wagging and she was whining for the mixing bowl. I put it down for her and she sucked it down like there was steak and potatoes in the bowl!
The best part.. SHE KEPT IT DOWN! About 5 hours later, she ate more! Its been a week now and she's eating 3 times a day and up playing again. A miracle at 14 1/2 yes old!
I ordered a 10 pound box this time. If this is what iit takes to keep her from suffering with pancreatitis, I will pay what I have too, She's my baby.
"Note: If you want thicker mush, use the directed amount of water but let it stand 15-20 minutes. If you don't use the recommended amount of water it smells very very strong. I would imagine the taste is more concentrated as well. Letting it stand longer works just fine because it is dehydrated after all."

My dog loves his green slop! This is my first time trying dehydrated food and I was disheartened when I opened the box to find a bag of green sawdust that smelled like the protein powders you get from the health food store. It didn't get any better when I added water and it turned into green soup that still had that protein powdery smell. But it must've smelled good to my dog because he was sticking close to me like velcro the whole time I was preparing it. After it thickened up into powdery smelling green oatmeal, I still thought "there's no way he's going to eat this" but his tongue was going before I even got the bowl down and he licked the bowl clean, as well as the spoon I used to stir the food. The downside for me is because of the consistency, his tongue flings little bits of green mush everywhere, so I have a lot of floor area to wipe up post-meal. Upsides are no digestive problems, his breath is better, and of course, he loves it! I got 3 different brands to sample, and we're on to the 2nd one and my dog ate it, but with much less gusto, for about a week, and now won't touch it unless I mix it with his old canned food. I think we'll probably end up coming back to this one permanently.

Looks gross, but dogs love !My vet is very happy that we are feeding are dogs on this food she says it is an excellent food to feed are dogs on. I highly recommend this dog food it helped extend the lifespan of our elderly dogs. I mix it up with hot water and let it set course you have to Stir It but after it hydrates it's still going to look like much but the dogs love it. Because of my elderly small dogs I mix it a little thin and add some olive oil for their skin or flaxseed oil or fish oil depending on what your dog likes. It is a safe food to feed it gives them energy for the you might have to experiment what thickness your dogs prefer to eat it at. I add cut up apple on the side.

Like many other dogs mentioned in these reviews, mine wanted nothing to do with this food. While I love that entrepreneurs are seeking new ways to provide quality dog food to canines and their care givers, this one just really missed the mark by my dogs' standards. I would strongly suggest passing over this option of diet for your pet, not least because of the cost - but mainly, because there is a pretty good chance your dog will not be tempted to eat it. (I base this statement on my experience given the response my dogs had, and in consideration of the fact that they aren't especially picky eaters.) I recommend saving the money and frustration and opting for a food that is more likely to have a higher success rate at mealtime.

homemade meal without the fussI bought this product after seeing The Honest Kitchen on CBS Sunday Morning. They seem like they put great care into making their product. I like that it feels as if I am making my dogs something special but it requires little effort. Because I have 2 large dogs and the food is a bit expensive, I only use this as a mix-in with their dry dog food once a day. I know they like it because they get very excited when I'm getting it ready! I debated using canned food instead because it is less expensive, but I decided this product is worth the cost. It isn't as messy, takes up less space in the pantry, and probably has less impact on the environment (no cans to have to recycle). I decided on the VERVE type over the others because it wasn't the highest in protein (my dogs don't seem to do well with foods too high in protein) and had lower fat content.

Can't even describe how much my dog loves this foodShe loves it so much she stands by my side, licking her chops the entire three minute wait until I set it down for her. Then she gobbles it up in about 30 seconds, lol. But what's more is the mood change. She's so much healthier and happier. And we have always fed her high quality food like Orijen and others that are similar in quality, and I've always been very happy with them, but there is something different in the honest kitchen. Her digestion seems better as well. I could not be happier with this food.

Piece of MindWith all of the conflicting info on what is or is not in dry dog food I am 100% confident when feeding my dogs The Honest Kitchen that they are eating a quality food. The ingredient list is transparent...none of the ingredients is disguised or made to sound nutritious when it is not. My dogs devour their food, and I have the piece of mind knowing they're actually eating food and not chemicals or by-products. This food also cleared up the yeast on their paws and jaw lines.

Easy prep, great quality, human grade ingredients & passed the taste test for our girl! Our boxer loves The Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog food. Simple to prepare. Follow directions so that rehydration occurs in prep bowl and not dog's stomach. Our dog has "megaesophagus." (Esophagus does not function properly.) She needs mushy food and I usually add a little extra water to get to the proper state of "mushiness" for our gal. She loves it. When I first brought some home she kept smelling the box! Perfect for traveling. It's a hit in our house!!
