Zeal is a grain-free dog food made with wild, line-caught white fish and produce like sweet potatoes, pumpkin and parsley. It is a natural, human-grade dog food that's created especially for adult dogs with certain dietary restrictions. One of The Honest Kitchen's most popular recipes, Zeal is higher in protein and low in fat and carbohydrates. Because it is a limited ingredient diet, Zeal is especially suited for pups who do better without poultry, flax and white potatoes. Just add water for a fresh, wholesome and human-grade meal.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 81 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food but very pricey I love Honest Kitchen's foods, my dogs all look phenomenal when I feed it to them. Their ingredients are truly quality, no fillers, and because they produce their food in human-grade facilities they are much safer than other dog foods and less likely to have recalls. I do think however that these foods are very expensive for what you get volume-wise. A 10-pound box of Honest Kitchen will feed one of my 35-pound dogs for about 8 days, so more or less I'd be looking at 4 boxes a month for one dog. I have multiple dogs and it's not financially possible for me to feed this food exclusively. I do like to use Honest Kitchen as a "topper" for the other food that I do feed. I put about a tablespoon of HK on top of the kibble, add water, and it makes a tasty gravy. I also like to feed HK to dogs who are off their feed for any reason, as they really like the way it tastes and often if I reconstitute the HK with warm chicken broth I can get a dog to eat who wasn't interested in anything else. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent I use this as a topper for kibble for my 7 lb dog. I mix Zeal and base mix in a 2:1 ratio and he gets a tablespoon mixed with a tablespoon of water on his kibble. He loves it. He stool output has increased greatly. July 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product! My dog has to have a low fat diet due to lipid deposits in his eyes. I use Verve, which is low fat, but was looking for something to rotate with. After comparing the other Honest Kitchen foods, I thought I would try the Zeal. He loves this food! It is grain free, too. He has never been able to handle raw and this is the next best thing. 4 Paws up! June 22, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good food but did not agree with my dogs The ingredients our really good. This is good food but one dog would not eat it. The other one it really did not agree with him. May 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Diabetic Doggy, and his Westie Sister too! My 8 year old terriers both love this food. They have been on a salmon based kibble diet most of their lives, so this was not a huge adjustment for them. I don't like the smell, but can tolerate it as it is the only low fat seafood based food I have found. My Schnauzer was diagnosed with diabetes last month and requires a low fat diet. My Westie has been on seafood only for 7+ years to keep her skin allergy under control. We have here the perfect balance. Expensive? Yes! Worth it to keep my diabetic dog healthy? Absolutely! Rated 5 out of 5 by Piston Loves It!!!! My Shiba Inu, Piston is in love with this food. He was previously eating Blue Buffalo's Basic Salmon and it would take him forever to finish his food. I can't even get through the 3 minutes it takes for it to re-hydrate before he's barking and demanding its put in front of him. I changed his diet in hopes that the benefits will help with the nerve damage he has in is paw due to him getting hit by a car a year ago. I do see improvement and I hope this will continue as he continues his diet change! April 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dogs go nuts for this food! I am so pleased with this food. My dogs go absolutely crazy for it. I use kibble in the morning and feed this in the evening and have noticed such happier tummies. Even my super picky female dug right in. It is pricey, but well worth it to know what they are eating and that they love it so much. The transition was easy and no upset tummies during it. April 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dogs are okay with it This is excellent quality dog food and with that said my dogs are okay with Zeal. How I get my dogs to eat it is, I mix it with Wauva Beef and Lamb. Love Honest Kitchen dog food and that is why I rated their food 5 stars. Would strongly suggest this food and sometimes the best way to get your dogs to eat it is with mixing it with another favorite food. I also make sure that my dogs have a variety of food, why cause in the wild they didn't eat the same food all the time, also kibbles isn't that healthy for them, their food should be 70% moist just like it would be in the wild. Some vets are of the old school but Dr. Karen Becker on youtube you should look up for more information on healthy dog foods and why. We also feed the Love/Force/Embark along with Wauva dog food. great product and your dogs will love you for it. Make sure to mix the food with hot water and make sure that its like a pudding texture.
