Rated 5 out of 5 by EmilyA1019 Great product! (but I wasn't sure at first)
I have a 1 year old pitt-bull and she was switched to this brand by her vet because she was having skin pustules around her lower belly and genital area that kept showing up. At first she wouldn't eat the food! I was so upset because I needed this to work, I had already spent a small fortune on her skin issues. Well I added some water and she gobbled it up!! Maybe she was just starving? I don't know, but now I add a little bit of water and toss it around with my fingers and before I know it, the bowl is empty. I think the consistency of this food is harder than her previous dry food. I am happy to report that she has been eating it for over a week now and hasn't had any skin issues come up. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though. Also, another unexpected thing that happened, I think she lost a couple pounds, her waists looks more defined than before. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product, and if at first your dog doesn't like it, give it some time. No dog will stay on a hunger strike for long.

We have struggled with our senior beagle's gastrointestinal issues. This is the ONLY food that has helped with his issues of diarrhea and gas. Very upset that this food is being discontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mimi Allergic ear in big dogs
I have a large great pyr/newfoundland/lab mix that came with a major ear infection. Three months of antibiotics and ear flushes did no good. Was told by my vet that it was probably a food allergy and that he needed food with no grains and no substances that his immune system would recognize. I can tell you he has never seen Kangaroo and Oats before! After just a few weeks the ear was totally cleared up, accompanied by 3 benydryl and one 24 hour Zyrtec every day.
I made the mistake of taking him off it when he was well for over 6 months - after just a few weeks of going back to Diamond naturals the ear problem came back big time. Now in process of eliminating it all over again. Use it - stay on it - it works! There are some other great foods out there with "7" and "8" ingredients like Canidae etc. These also work for mixing things up without causing problems. Chewy.com carries those also. No GRAINS!!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by LillytheDearson Only good for the circumstances
My labradoodle was placed on this as a test for skin/allergy issues. Hopefully for her it is temporary. This food smells like cardboard. It has helped during the time to clear it up and see if it is food or other allergies though. I have to add fresh organic coconut milk for her to eat it. Her normal food is Orijen which I believe to be the best out there.
Again it would be 5 stars for the circumstances of temporary use but the inability to even eat it by itself is a no go.

I truly believe I have finally found the correct formula that is working on my pets problem. Before using, I would find small gobs of dog hair all over the carpet. Since using there is no longer the hair. I am hoping that it eventually helps with their scratching which isn't really all that bad. Very pleased.
