How to open:

  • Be sure tube is at bottom of pouch.
  • Using scissors, cut the pouch across the top and remove tube.

How to apply:

  • Use only on dogs.
  • Remove applicator tube from the package. Use scissors and peel down foil.
  • Hold applicator tube in an upright position. Pull cap off tube.
  • Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube.
  • Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
  • The dog should be standing for easy application. The entire contents of the K9 Advantix II tube should be applied evenly on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin. Do not apply an excessive amount of solution at any one spot that could cause some of the solution to run off the side of the dog.
  • Discard empty tube.
  • In cases of severe pest infestations, retreatment is allowable earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 7 days. After pest control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is K9 Advantix II different from K9 Advantix?

With the addition of an insect growth regulator (IGR), K9 Advantix II kills all life stages of fleas. K9 Advantix II also prevents development of fleas, flea eggs, larvae (maggots), and pupae (cocoons), and prevents fleas on a treated dog from infesting your home.

What is the benefit of repellency?

Repellency helps prevent ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes from attaching, biting or feeding. A repelled parasite doesn’t bite or attach. If it doesn’t bite or attach, it can’t transmit the organisms that may cause disease.

What is the difference between K9 Advantix II and other tick and flea products?

K9 Advantix II repels and kills ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. It repels biting flies and kills lice, too. Its repellency activity and broad spectrum make K9 Advantix II different from other tick and flea products.

Is K9 Advantix II waterproof?

Yes. There is no need to reapply the product after weekly swimming or a bath. For best results, use a non-detergent shampoo.

Can I use K9 Advantix II on my cat?

No. K9 Advantix II must not be used on cats because of a cat’s unique physiology and inability to metabolize certain compounds.

  • Relieved after using

Initially worried about using on my 15 pound 5 month old maltipoo after reading warnings for small dogs, toxic chemicals, etc. However after much research on the chemicals I discovered some interesting facts. Both Imidacloprid and Pyriproxyfen have low toxicity for mammals. They are highly toxic to insects only. Imidacloprid is in the systemic insecticide I use against Psyllids in my trees and I was concerned if my puppy ingested treated leaves or berries from the trees. The substance is not digested by mammals and eliminated during bowel movements and urine both in dogs and humans. Permethrin is used to treat human clothing against mosquitoes and also not easily absorbed through skin of humans Initially worried about using on my 15 pound 5 month old maltipoo after reading warnings for small dogs, toxic chemicals, etc. However after much research on the chemicals I discovered some interesting facts. Advantix blends with the dog's skin oils to provide protection against ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. When applying I tested one spot between my puppys' shoulders and wiped away the excess. After a few hours and no bad reaction, I applied at the center of his spine, and at the base of his tail. I didn't use the whole tube because it's for dogs up to 22 pounds, but i used 3 quarters. When I take him for hikes, I apply a natural tick repellant of almond oil infused with geranium oil to his feet and legs. I also give him baking soda/cornstarch dry shampoo baths infused with a citronella insect oil blend between his regular baths. Altogether I feel confident that he won't have any insect problems (and hasn't so far). Topical seems better than taking a pill. … more

  • Works better than the stuff at the vet!

    By on

I live out in the country and my dogs are allowed to be dogs, so running through fields and woods is a common occurrence. For years I had them on Trifexis, and would often find (dead) ticks stuck to them. Last year my doberman was diagnosed with tick disease. So I decided to switch. They are now both on Heartgard and K9 advantix II. I have not see one tick on either of my boys all summer. So apparently it's working! I am thrilled!

  • Finally got started

    By on

I finally got started using chewy.com and I am glad I did. I have always heard it advertised and my daughter uses it. I was so happy to receive my shipment the next day. I will definitely check it out when I need something. I am hoping the prices will remain good and it wasn't just the one day I checked it out.

  • Great product

    By on

We switched from another topical to this about 6 months ago. Glad we did. It works great & the smaller amount of product makes it easier & less messy when applying. No issues with any fleas, flea eggs, ticks, mosquitoes or biting flies. We're in the South where all of these are present. Very pleased & love that we can choose single or combo packs & be on auto ship- one less thing to remember & dogs are always protected. We absolutely LOVE Chewy!! Finally, a fantastic place to shop for all things dog!

  • Pleasantly surprised

    By on

I am pleasantly surprised with how affordable and more cost-effective Chewie.com has presented us with options for not only our dogs food but also their anti-flea, tick and mosquito medicine . We will next begin to look for their toys and treats as it is much more efficient and effective to shop on our cell phones as opposed to go to Petsmart . Petco or any store has never been an option.

  • Perfect medicine!

    By on

Advantix arrived and I applied it to Daisy's skin as directed. There was a significant infestation. Most flees were dead in about a hour. Though there are provisions for another application within a week I found no flees on Daisy in less than three days.

  • Always a great deal!

    By on

This order for flea and tick treatment came super fast, as have my previous orders. The items are always exactly what I ordered and the price has always been very competitive on each order, as I show prices! Additionally, real live people email you back when you send Chewy an email, and they are very understanding and more than fair.
