  • Great keeping pup busy!

    By on

My Akita/Border collie puppy usually tears EVERYTHING up, and that's not an exaggeration and this is the first toy that's lasted. He's even ripped the "durable" and "tear-proof" ones within the first day of getting it. I sometimes put some peanut butter on the edge or stuff the Kong toy with a Purina daily dental chews. Since the dental chews are porous and have ridges for teeth cleaning, sometimes I'll put some peanut butter between the ridges as an extra treat. Other times, my 3 year old son will toss the Kong toy as a ball for Buddy. Very satisfied!!

  • Durable Toy, but Tough to Remove Hard Treats

    By on

I use this toy daily to give frozen pumpkin and yogurt to my dog when I'm leaving. It works great for this and I don't foresee having to replace it for several years. However, I have some trouble anytime I use it with hard treats. I have the size medium Kong and hard treats larger than the opening reliably get stuck in the toy because my dog gives up on getting them out and the opening is too small for me to grab the treat. I usually end up soaking it in water until the treat falls apart. I'm only using it for pumpkin and yogurt now, and for that it's great.

  • My GS pup loves it

I have a 10 month old German Shepard pup & she loves her Kong its her favorite chew toy second only to elk antlers. To get rid of the rubber smell soak it in warm water for about 30 minutes. We found the best way to clean the inside if you use the peanut butter spread is to get a nylon shotgun cleaning brush thats slightly larger than the opening. Spinning the brush inside while running water over it cleans it spotless in a couple minutes.

  • My dog loves this toy

In fact, she plays with her Kong all day. No one would think that Gypsy is 10 years old. She drops her Kong to my feet and due to its shape it jumps when it lands. It is soooo much fun to fetch it! And when alone, Gypsy kicks her Kong around by herself or exercises her teeth. Her favorite moment of the day is when she licks her peanut butter out of the small opening. I just wish those Kongs could be less expensive and shipping costs could be waved. Thank you for this consideration

  • Kind of large for my dog

    By on

I know this toy was a favorite for our previous Dog.. But unfortunately it seems a little too big for my dogs current weight. Our dog is 38 pounds (she is full grown lab mix) and based on the recommendation I ordered a large. It's very difficult for my dog to get the Kong in her mouth to throw it to try to get out the treats. I find she doesn't really want to play with it because it's a little too difficult to try to Maneuver. Three sit in the Kong for days! which is just crazy for a lab who likes to eat.

  • My dogs didn't know what to do!!

    By on

I tried several times to even leave bits out of the opening so that they could easily grab one or two treats at the time, but sometimes they would get the treats out but MOST of the time, they must've thought, "why should I do all this work?" They remember that I always give them a treat every time they go out, so this is new for them. I wish so badly that they would use these Kongs, to be able to enjoy the challenge and give them something to do. But NO, my dogs wouldn't because they are spoiled rotten!!!

  • Great toy for my active dog!

    By on

Kongs have been a favorite of our dog, Doc, since he was a pup! We fill them with plain yogurt, pumpkin, peanut butter, bananas or whatever treat we think he will like - then we freeze them until it's treat time! We usually have 2-3 filled Kongs ready to go in the freezer at all times, they are great to settle him when we have to leave him at home or to keep him from begging while we eat dinner! I'd recommend them for any and all dogs!

  • dog always loves this

I love these classic kong toys! I have a year old lab that chews like a beaver so this toy is perfect. This is the one toy that he has not destroyed. I have a few of these in different sizes and I fill them with his kibble and then close the hole with peanut butter and freeze. When I need him to have some down time, I can pull one of these out and he works away on it until he gets all the goodies out. Nice!!

  • Puppy Love!

    By on

I had a kong before with an earlier dog. He wanted nothing to do with it. I decided to try again with the new 12 week old German Shepherd puppy. We started with just the kong and he was chewing away and loved the way it bounced when he dropped it. Now he has had one filled with Puppy cheese wiz and another with peanut butter. It's still a big hit. We love the kong and have one in the freezer at all times.

  • YES, FOR CATS TOO!

    By on

We have a calico who loves to chew. I started out by putting the KONG originals on the bathtub fixtures where she had been chewing. Then, got her the puppy version, which she quickly destroyed. The SMALL is too large for her, but the XS Classic is PURRFECT. She has two that we keep full of crunchy treats and she usually works on them during the day while we are away, or we can hear her crunch in the middle of the night. She'll empty it and place it on the kitchen rug when she wants it cleaned and refilled!!
