Rated 5 out of 5 by Small is WAY small, but that's my fault lol And oddly enough, he likes it better? I bought this to replace his puppy Kong that badly needed replaced and lazily decided to choose small, thinking it would be the same small as the small puppy Kong. Well, it's not! And I'll likely buy the medium again on my next order. Even still, though, he seems to love it way more than his baby kong. For one, he hates struggling for treats, and doesn't usually like playing with the Kong otherwise so it was pretty much only useful as a very mild, rewarding distraction as I was leaving for work. And i couldn't even give him a lot because he would get tummy upsets and all that. This tiny tiny kong, he seems to love, because I can give him a tiny snack (his kibble is really small so I put some pieces in and plugged the holes with peanut butter) and then afterward we play fetch because this, unlike the larger puppy kong, is an easier bounce as well as a higher bounce on our wood floors. So he likes it for now, and it's not a choking hazard cuz he's not a huge chewer, therefore - I'm satisfied! **Long story short, get a medium for your mediums lol. Also, wash it before u use it, because it really smells like plastic! September 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great toy!! My dog loves to play with this and chew on it. The Kong company knows dogs! This is a fun toy - my German Shepherd loves it. She likes to play with tennis balls, but I think the fabric on the ball wears on a dog's teeth, so this rubber toy is perfect. Also, because of its shape, it never bounces straight like a ball does, which delights my dog. The added bonus of stashing a biscuit inside, makes it even more enjoyable to my dog. I've been using these for my dogs for many years, they last a very long time! October 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps my dog busy! We had a similar toy from another manufacturer. Top was chewed off after a few months. Hoping this one will last. So far, so good, after 1 month he hasnt chewed top off yet. October 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the Kongs My dog is 11 years old and I still stuff a kong every day to give him before I leave for work. Any anxiety he may have about being left alone is quickly replaced with him concentrating on the kong. In the 11 years I have only needed to replace them twice... Very strong material. Well made. Rated 5 out of 5 by A MUST HAVE Kongs are truly a must have!! If your dog gets bored when you leave or slight separation anxiety, give them one of these filled with treats or freeze them with yogurt, peanut butter, canned food, etc and it will keep them busy! Good for mental stimulation as well. Dogs love to chew on it (very durable), pick it up and toss it around the room to get the treats out, or lick inside of it (just make sure you get the appropriate size). October 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Kong toy I love Kong toys! My dog love's this one especially when I stuff and freeze it with peanut butter! She works on it for quite a while;) October 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by PUPPY SEEMS TO LIKE IT AS IS - NO FILLING NEEDED! Someone left their kong toy at a nearby dog park, and O'reo found it. He played with it so enthusiastically, I broke down and bought him one. I had never considered one because I was not sure about being able to clean it sufficiently to remove bacteria from the inner reaches. But he likes it as it is. Having read other reviews, I may just buy another and try stuffing it. It seems quite a nice toy, and he clearly likes it. (Maybe cleaning it won't be so difficult after all) October 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible Chemical Smell :-( I'm not sure what's happened to Kongs over the past 8 years, but the ones I've bought recently are nothing like the "old" Kongs that I bought in 2008 ... and still have! The most recent one (red, XL) had a god-awful smell when I first opened the package, but I figured a run through the dishwasher would fix that. No such luck -- three weeks and many washings later, it still reeks with a nasty, chemical smell that just will not go away. It also feels much softer and less durable than the old Kongs. Speaking of which ... ... I have two smaller Kongs (large size), and both are much softer than the old original Kongs. In fact, the area around the large opening has become "frayed" and is peeling away; the surface there has turned into a sticky mess where hair and dirt are easily embedded (and can't be removed without literally peeling away the rubber). I actually threw away the black Kong (XL) when it became so sticky and "glue-y" that I couldn't touch it without having big black smears of the stuff come off on my fingers :-( I have no idea what changes have been made to the Kongs over the years ... but they really should change BACK to the original design. This one's a pretty big FAIL. September 8, 2016
