  • I understand how dogs like to chew things up so....

    By on Top 500 Contributor

Whenever I'm shopping for anything on Chewy.com I always read reviews pertaining to German Shepherds simply because they are my favorite breed of dogs. My GSD, Kilo, is a year old now and her chewing frenzy has sIowed down quite a lot. I have a couple of fuzzys that have lost their voices but overall most toys have been able to withstand her jaws of death without breaking open any seams, the most we've lost is a leaf from her "Hide A Squirrel Puzzle toy, a limb from her Wubba, countless AirDog squeaker balls and the voice boxes of Cozie King the purple Lion, Look Who's Talking koala, and Look Who's Talking Gorilla" who arrived with a defective voice box. All of Kilo's non-stuffed treasures are still in prime condition for a young, birth to 12 month old GSD puppy. I know her toys have been through the mill and back and have withstood her puppyhood. My next purchase is Cozie Marvin due to all the positive German Shepherd reviews. Thank you. Thank you Chewy for always having fun stuff. … more

  • Love the moose!

    By on

My Corgi LOVES his moose. He got one for Christmas, and it lasted until August. He tears up most stuffed toys in just a few minutes, but for some reason "Moose" is special. His first one did slowly lose his little ears, then one back leg, then the other back leg, but because of how it was constructed, I was able to cut them off, and the stuffing was still secure in the main body. He did finally rip into an antler, and there was no fixing that, so Moose had to the tossed out. Moose is my Corgi's comfort toy. Every night, he grabs his Moose, and quietly gnaws on it while we all sit on the couch and watch TV. Until Moose, he had a really hard time being able to settle down before bed. Once Original Moose had been destroyed, my Corgi was at loose ends again, and had a very hard time settling down. We were out of town, on vacation, but luckily, the local pet shop happened to have just one Moose still in stock. I wasn't sure if he would go for Impostor Moose, but he took to it right away. I'm now ordering five more as "back up." Original Moose survived several trips through the washing machine and came out just great. He does start to smell really bad after so much hard use, but I probably could have washed him more often without his being any worse for wear. I plan to wash Impostor Moose much more frequently. … more

  • Keeps it together

    By on

Having a tough chewer that likes to play hard is difficult when you have a house full of breakable items. My boxer pup loves to throw his toys but after a kong rope toy connected with my tv I knew i needed a toy that was light so he can throw it around and tough since he destroys everything he chews. He loves this moose. He thrashes around with it and throws it around the house. I never let him sit and chew it but he's sneaky and has gotten to it for a chew session a couple of times. It's still together after a couple of weeks which is all i could ask for. I'll have to buy more to replace them whe he kills them. Great stuffed toy for tough chewers to toss and play with. • Disappointed in Marvin Moose.

    By on

I must say, I'm rather disappointed in Marvin. I've gotten Kong stuffies before and they lasted longer than this moose has. I bought Marvin in the hopes he may last 2-3 months in the home. My 4 pound chihuahua has torn it in several areas and it no longer looks like a moose. He has only had it for two days. I bought him a kong squirrel and it lasted almost a month. I'm not sure what is wrong or different about the moose, but I dare say it will be trash in less than a week. All that being said, my dog absolutely loves it. It is his favorite toy right now and he doesn't even care that it is bigger than him. He chases and tosses it and just about drags it every where.

  • Tough Kong Moose

    By on

My English Springer Spaniel is hyper active with her stuffies and this moose has been very well loved in the 3 weeks we have had it. She's chews it, tosses it, and we have even caught her snuggling with it more than a few times as she's dragging him from room to room. The moose is her first toy choice in the morning from her toy bin and will snatch it before us trying to put it away throughout the day. She's too quick to move to catch her with it, picture shy or maybe it's her ADHD, but we are trying. Planning to get the other creatures in the Kong stuffies series. (Wish they would create a lobster to go with our Maine home animals)

  • Didn't last 10 minutes

    By on

A tiny 6lb Yorkie literally destroyed this in less than 10 minutes and don't know what she didn't like about it but she tore into it and ripped up! We have NEVER had her act like that EVER nor has she since and she's got other Kong toys but she definitely got rid of it and into trash the pieces went! No more of those in this home. I didn't think about taking a photo of the before and after Sorry but it's cute just can't recommend it.

  • Pup's favorite!

    By on

Our German Shorthaired Pointer puppy has loved this toy from the beginning. She immediately picked it up and started whining for attention. Now, at 13 weeks old, she is a strong chewer and puller--she will pick up the moose, bring it to you, and start growling to play. We use it for tug-of-war and playing fetch, and she chews on it constantly, but you couldn't tell she's had it her whole life. I threw it in the wash earlier this week, and it looks brand new. She loves this toy, and we love how durable it is!

  • Perfect companion for a puppy

    By on

I ordered this with the intention of using with my adult canine companions. They played with it for a bit, but fortunately left it in tact. Shelties, at least mine, aren't notorious for destroying their toys. I recently have taken on a nearly two week old puppy who requires bottlefeeding. Marvin has provided companionship for him when he isn't being fed or held. Always cozied up to him.

  • Perfect toy!

    By on

My corgi mix loves this toy! It is soft which he prefers and not a loud toy which I am a fan of. This one has held up well, he isn't overly rough but does chew on it a lot (not sure how it does for dogs who like to rip toys to pieces right away) and also is easy to throw and right size for him to walk around with in his mouth- not too big and not to long where he trips.

  • Cute but small more than medium

    By on

He is smaller than I was expecting. I got it for my 6 month old lap pup (56 lbs) and it's fine for her now. I would recommend it for dogs less that 40 lbs. still super cute and for the price I can't really complain. She's not a destructive chewer so I'm not sure how it'd last for a dog who is. Will probably buy the larger one next.
