by Debbers Seems perfect for most dogs
By reading through the reviews, it seems that almost everyone is super satisfied with the "extreme" durability of these Kong toys. They are really good and my dog absolutely loves his. I try to give him about one a month so he can have something that he can actually get into and destroy - it seems to give him such pleasure.
Before trying the Kong's I was buying toy after toy and they would last mere minutes and they would be history - some of the Kong's are like that. I just got the larger Kong ball that you put the treat in that's supposed to be really difficult to get out. Well it was difficult to get out - so my dog just destroyed the ball to get to the treat. I have found some toy with a lifetime guarantee which is working great, HOWEVER Buddy loves loves loves it when he gets his Kong - his favorites are the ball and this one, what I call the bee hive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bret My Kong Extreme just celebrated it's 1 year birthday.
I bought a bunch of Kongs for my new puppy over a year ago. The pastel puppy models were turned to rubber chips at 6 months in the height of teething. The original red, while tough, bit the dust a few months later. The black Extreme is still going strong, frozen and used daily. I went with the large size for my 40 lb dog. I tend to think the medium would be easier for her to chew, but maybe also easier to destroy.

Ordered this kong toy from an online store the humane league gave us when we adopted our canine two years ago. After finally destroying/losing it after 6 months, I was to order another, to surprisingly find the toy store had since been put out of business, then I discovered Chewy.com, who sold the same toy, so I was assured of it being made in America. I have never found the XL in walk-in stores. I feel confident in Chewy.com to carry my Dalmatian-Pitt bull's FAVORITE toy! It is durable, large and she loves to gnaw on it for HOURS. This product is definitely for heavy chewers!! Thanks for providing Chewy.com! We will be back for more, I'm sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chelsea A toy who lived past a day!!
My 7.5 year old lab destroys toys within an hour tops that he gets them. I bought this thinking "yep, I give it a day before a chunk is taken out of it". NOPE! It's been two weeks and not a single chunk has been taken out of this Kong! And we added an 8 week old lab to the family and between the two of them (especially the pups razors for teeth) it's still intact! Highly recommended for distructable pups!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cassie Durable and easy to clean
I have two 50-60lb heavy chewers. I've learned to be skeptical of the durability claims made by many toy manufacturers. One of the first things my female did was settle down and attempt to destroy this item. She quickly became disinterested when no progress was made after ten minutes or so. Now they chase each other around with it in the yard. The odd shape makes it bounce funny and harder to keep a hold of, which adds to the fun. It's good for fetch, too. I rinse it off with the hose when it gets too muddy. Not their favorite toy, but still getting steady usage.

Our German Shepherd was able to chew up EVERYTHING! Then we bought the extreme and she has not been able to chew it up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DLKoch Better but not "extreme"
When I think of the word "extreme" I expect it to hold up at least for the first week. My 10 month old pitbull broke the rubber already after the first stuffing! She has used it 3x so far and it's held up a lot better than the original she has but I wouldn't go as far as calling it "extreme." I still recommend it though! :)
