  • RECOMMEND For PITS, Power Chewer Approved

I've read other reviews and I realize there are many kinds of dogs with many different jaw strengths, HOWEVER, i am absolutely blown away that so many have said their dog chewed thru this...I have a 40lb pit, that is the most aggressive chewer I have ever had, he's chewed thru EVERY "indestructible " toy in under 5 min, from Mammoth Tires, Bionic Rubber to NYLABONES, yes my dog can chew thru the Dental Nylabones, the strongest ones they make. This is his favorite toy and chews on it all the time and has not chewed any piece of this bone off, he may be tiny but he's a mini shark, this is the only toy he hasn't damaged whatsoever. • Good Bone for Good Boys

    By on

The furries (two 50 pound pit-mixes) so far, have responded well to this product. Had to pull out some of my smaller sized treats to fit into the opening (maybe that should be made bigger? and not have the grip like opening???). Added some peanut butter and game on. Not sure how long it will last, but they enjoy wrestling each other over the bone (and they each have one) Smells strongly of rubber but i guess that is to be expected.

  • My dog enjoys this bone!

My cattle dog mix is an aggressive chewer so there aren't many toys that will last. This bone fits the bill! I also have the Kong ball and the original Kong in the Extreme black. She gnaws on the Kongs all the time and they don't even have marks! I purchased a Kong bone a number of years ago and over time it cracked so I purchased a new one to replace it. I bought a medium size Kong bone and it wasn't as large as the one I had so I bought the large one. I normally put peanut butter in the ends and then insert carrot chips, and I had to break the carrot chips in order to insert them in the medium. The holes in the large are not much bigger than the medium, but there is a difference. The holes My cattle dog mix is an aggressive chewer so there aren't many toys that will last. • Read the fine print

My dog chewed through this bone in about 10 minutes. All I saw was 'Extreme' and 'Power chewer' and I didn't pay attention to the WEIGHT requirements. I bought a Medium bone for my 50# Lab mix for the size. Didn't know there was difference in the actual bone according to the dog's weight. It's not advertised very well. Waste of money for me. On the bright side, I placed the order at night and had it the next day! Fast shipping!

  • Smells toxic

    By on

We've had this bone about 2 weeks and have washed it multiple times as customer service has suggested. But it still has a very strong rubber smell. We have the classic black kong and it never had a smell this bad. I don't think it can be good for my dog to chew on. I'm pitching it. I may try one from a brick and mortar store just bcuz kong has generally been a good product, and this way I can return if it smells the same. Maybe it was just a defective batch.

  • No so Extreme

    By on

I believe it is good for 95% of aggressive chewers however my working dog has managed to split the middle and one end already and has had the toy for roughly an hour! The toy is still intact but it is only a matter of time before he figures out where to start pulling it apart. If the middle was more like a nyla with the extreme ends i believe this toy would live up to its name. In reference he has also started to pull the top off of a regular Kong Extreme. The only toy that has survived more than an hour is a large solid bone. Maybe i should just let him chew a tire and see how that works.

  • Not Durable for Powerful Chewers

    By on

I have a one year old black lab that is a very powerful chewer. We've tried everything from extreme kongs to nylabones. When we gave her the extreme kong bone, she chewed the edges off. We did put peanut butter in the sides, but it made her chew it even more. We had to take it away from her because the pieces of rubber were big. We are still on a look out for dog toys that will hold up through her rigorous chewing.

  • Fantastic !

    By on

Sturdy, made of strong rubber for hard chewing. My dog loves to carry it around when I walk him. It is also great for tug-of-war (his favorite game), and fetch when we are outside. Can be stuffed with soft treats, too. I called back and ordered more.

  • So durable!

    By on

My pitbull lab mix destroys everything, and chews on everything! Nothing worked or lasted for him, Stuffed toys, balls, bones. This toy is industructable. My dog has been playing with it for about 2 weeks, and it has no wear or tear. He usually destroys a toy in hours- 2 days. This toy is great.

  • I Can't Believe I Didn't Get This Sooner

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I've been debating about getting this KONG bone since Luna was 3 months old. She's almost a year now, and I finally bought it. Boy do I wish I had gotten this sooner! Luna loves to chew, play fetch, or try to dig out treats from this bone. It has so many uses! I can see it lasting for years, since so far there's been no way for her to chew through it. Putting a strip of jerky inside will have her trying to get it out for dozens of minutes at a time. A great investment!
