  • No More Chewing On Splinters, And Easier To Throw!

    By on

My 8 month old Labrador's favorite game is fetch, bar none. Since we picked her up, I had been using different sticks from around the yard to play with. The problem with wooden sticks is that dogs (or at least my dog) will give in to their urge to chew on them the second you're not paying attention. Then they start coughing because, you know, you're not supposed to eat wood. They never learn. These Safestix are great though. I've had it for two weeks, but we play with it everyday. She still tries to chew it like a wooden stick, but I can't find any marks or divots so I'd say it's holding up really well. It's also got just the right amount of weight and bounce, which makes it much easier to My 8 month old Labrador's favorite game is fetch, bar none. I know it's weird to spend this many words complimenting a fetching stick, but seriously, my dog loves it and playing fetch is much safer now. For size reference, my lab is about 60 pounds, and the medium is the perfect size for her. I've seen the larger size in stores, and I think they'd be meant for a dog slightly larger than a lab. Granted, my lab probably isn't done growing yet! … more

  • My pup is not interested in this at all

I personally love this toy because I always got nervous when my puppy was playing with a regular rope toy. Maggie on the other hand could care less about it. Im hoping that when she gets older she will love it.

  • a very cool toy

My GSD hasn't let go of this thing since it came out of the box :) perfect to take outside because all the grime just wipes off unlike a rope toy. Love it!

I had this for a 1.5 years for my Pitt bull was basically was his first two and he loved it still to this day. But I was playing Tug of war with him and the end flung off and popped me in the eye.

  • My dog loves it!

I originally looked at the same toy by Kong at Petsmart, which wanted $19.95 for the same toy. Saved myself $10 and made my dog ecstatic!

  • Fantastic Stick For Pits!

There are very few toys my mini shark can't chew thru, in fact we're probably over $200 in after rescuing him a month and a half ago so this was another gamble but it paid off. He seems to like all his bright green toys, I believe dogs can see blue, red and yellow but my guy with two different colored eyes may be partially color blind that's still to be determined, either way the green is very easy to see. This stick is thick semi hard rubber, it doesn't have much give but isn't rock hard, it flexs. I accidentally left this toy under the bushes one day and he found it and was chewing on it (he tricked me into thinking he was laying the nicely lol). I'm guessing it was about an hour before There are very few toys my mini shark can't chew thru, in fact we're probably over $200 in after rescuing him a month and a half ago so this was another gamble but it paid off. I'm guessing it was about an hour before he almost chewed the end off but he plays with it everyday and it's remained in tact and gets enjoyed very much at playtime. My guy is very rough on his toys as most pits are, as long as you don't let your pit pup chew on it, it should be a keeper. For average to even moderate chewers, I am sure this is a safe bet and cannot be chewed thru. Great stick, my guy is 40 lbs, 20" long and the large stick is a bit big for him but always size up with toys for aggressive chewers like pits. … more

  • Not durable

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Medium size is not strong enough for power chewers. I have the large size as well and it's very long and lasted a long time before my 90lb pup ate the balls off the ends and slowly picked at it piece by piece. He carries it around and wacks everyone with it so I decided to get a smaller shorter one the medium size which was great size length wise just not as thick so he chewed this up in 30 minutes....:

  • Not what I expected

    By on Top 500 Contributor

It's awkward to throw, it just barely floats below the surface of water and it was super hard for my dog to find in the water. Maybe if I had gotten the small it would be a different story. I read the sizes and I got the medium but it was a lot bigger than I expected. Plus the balls on the end hurt like all heck when the dog flips it around during play. He doesn't like to run after it. He quickly loses interest. The only thing he likes to do with the toy is chew on it, and the label says it's not a chew toy. Maybe in the future I'll purchase the small one. But it did not make Jacob's top ten toys.

  • Not for strong chewers!

My 14 month old pup chewed the end off of this toy. It is a very good toy but I wasn't paying attention and he went to town, lol. It does float and is visible in water. (Except for maybe the blue one, just a little harder to see I'm water).
