I bought this harness to go along with the car zip line. I purchased the Xlarge for my 120 lb Newfoundland. When we received it, I automatically let it out all the way, expecting it to barely fit her, and was surprised that in both the neck strap and body strap I probably had an additional 5-6 inches of length. Newfies are very deep chested, and I still had to adjust the chest placement to the smallest hole, and even then it is way too big for her. The straps fit great, but the chest plate kind of just hangs loose. Because of this, using the top buckle is okay for the car, but the front hook, used for walking, is impractical. Because the chest pad is so loose, the harness will shift sideways on her body, almost to the point of being on her back, if she pulls on it, and doesn't provide the turn around when she pulls. This makes the harness feel vulnerable, as if it might break. My dog fit into the measurements for an xlarge, but the harness overall is just too big.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gibbs Well made, seems like it will last, and could take the impact of a collision. The sizing is a bit off, but probably varies by body type of the dog.
Our Airedale is 89 pounds, but the large fits him very nicely. The extra large would be too big to fit snugly enough to be effective in a crash. Buckles are sturdy, and once you realize how they work, are pretty quick to attach to your dog. After three or four trips, our dog now eagerly comes to get his 'vest', and stands in the correct position for clipping the buckles, so much easier. Set up a nylon loop over the roll bar in the Jeep to clip onto the vest, just short enough that the head can get into the breeze, but the body stays back inside the roll cage.
Using the back clip for the leash actually works very well. Our dog tends to be a 'puller', but being tugged sideways by the vest seems to make him uncomfortable, so he stops pulling to give slack.
Overall, very pleased.

I have a 27 lb. Westie that the medium size of this product fit very well. I bought this to restrain him in the car when riding to vet, groomer, etc., not for walking him.
He will not sit still in the car and wants to look out. Often he tries to get on my lap which makes it impossible to drive. The contraption that hooks to the car seat belt worked ok but he kept stepping on the seat belt release and getting loose. This had nothing to do with the product. Thankfully, my husband went on the trial run to the groomer. So, the harness did not resolve my issue. I will keep looking for a booster seat to use in conjunction with this. I had no trouble figuring out how to use this item.

Best way to walk them. The seatbelt tether is so nice to keep them in place and safe! Highly recommended

The harness was a little too small for my dog even though I went by the weight on the guidelines. And it was a bit of a struggle to hook it up in car.

Great harnesses! They seem very sturdy and safe. The handle on the back is helpful getting my older dog with arthritis in and out of the car. They're comfortable on my dogs without any strain on the neck. Highly recommended!

I have NEVER had a puppy that was so MUCH WORK.. I was told to get so many different harnesses so he would not walk me. I have used this a couple of times and I am thinking it will help my a lot. I do recommend this for people. I love him so much but he does keep me on my toes.
