  • Amazing difference!

    By on

I have a 5 year yr old basset - overweight with usual periodic digestive issues known in this breed. She is picky and it is a constant struggle to get weight off. Diet food caused diarrhea and GI issues. Feeding her less of regular food - she was constantly food seeking. Our vet recommended trying grain free food ....this product has made a huge difference! She is satisfied....GI issues non existent....and has lost 2.5 lbs in 2 weeks! More expensive but so worth it!! Highly recommend for owners who have pups with any GI issues!! I am thrilled with what this food has done for our girl!

We rescued a 6 year old Lab and were warned that he had allergies. Previous owner did not know exactly what he was allergic to. Started with food, trying a premium brand with lamb but also contained some poultry by-products. Switched to Merrick grain free on advice of store clerk. Went with the Texas Beef. Wasn't sure how that would affect allergies but Moose loved it. We are 3 weeks down the road and his constant itching has become minimal and his coat looks great. Yes it is a little pricey but if I can get him off of allergy med it will be worth the price!

  • Good Food But

This is I consider a very well made dog food. It has everything in it that's good for my dogs. But, my dogs don't like it. Food I have bought in the past that I know they like, they eat very quickly. We have a routine. After they get done eating, I let them out of the back yard and they get to run on the rest of our property. Then they get a treat after they do number 2. Well, that has all changed. They just look at the bowl and walk away. I'll come back sometimes a hour or two later, they may have eaten but not always. I just don't know what is going on. Their stool is fine. The only thing that I'm thinking it might be is that the food is so high in protein that they just don't need as much This is I consider a very well made dog food. I've got 50 lbs. left so when it gets down I'm going to switch to see if they like something better. No corn or filler for my dogs. … more

  • won't go back to anything else

I spent almost an hour inside one of our local pet stores comparing all the more "healthier expensive" foods, and merrick had the most protein, vegetables, and vitamins out of them all. I have 3 chihuahuas and 2 of them were really over weight, with the better ingredients and higher protein I was able to feed them less without starving them. The puppy food is excellent too!

  • Going back to it

    By on

I fed my older Australian Cattle Dog Merrick grain free dry dog food for over a year. One day I needed more food and my local supplier was out, so I bought a slightly less expensive brand that >seemed< to be good quality. Slowly, without me noticing much, her condition deteriorated. Her joints started getting ouchy, and nothing seemed to help. Then one day I started comparing the ingredients of the two dog foods. Merrick is better quality, and has substantially MORE glucosamine chondroitin in it than the other brand. I've switched back, and here I will stay for the health of my dog!

My dogs drooling for this food the second I opened the resealable bag! They love the taste and size of the kibble is just right. Their coats are shiny and their playful energy is renewed! Very happy and thanks to the Chewy reviewers for their input.

  • My dog loves it!

My husky spent most of puppyhood only occasionally eating her meals. I did some research and decided to give this food a try. She loves it! She inhales her food now in < 5 minutes and then continues to go back to her bowl looking for more. Will definitely keep buying.

My dog is in love with this brand of dog food. He has a sensitive stomach and it was hard finding a dog food that would accommodate his nutrition needs and his taste. He is a very very picky eater. Even when switching flavors he loves the next flavor just as much.

  • So far, so good.

I have a 40 pound beagle with a sensitive stomach. We used to feed a different brand, however, they changed the formula, and it did not agree with my little one. After MUCH research, and well over an hour on the phone----Chewy's representative and I came up with this alternative food. So far, this seems an excellent choice for my little girl. No more upset stomach, bloody stool, gurgling insides, vomiting, and emergency room visits. The food is grain free, apparently easily digestible, and the pieces are MUCH smaller. She LOVES the taste, and there is no coaxing to consume. Highly recommend for sensitive stomachs, or picky eaters.
