  • Dog loves these, BUT....

    By on

At first sight it seemed like a healthier alternative but as it turns out these treats contain Cane Molasses, which is basically SUGAR. Using anything with sugar to clean my dog's teeth just doesn't sound like a good idea. I bought two packs and now regret it. I'll keep looking for a healthy tooth cleaning treat without sugar!!!

  • Yummy Treat

My 27 lb American Eskimo loves Merrick Lil ' Brush Bones! He takes it and goes to lay on the rug to savor his treat. This is our first bag so I can't say that I've noticed cleaner teeth. He's almost 3 years old, and I try to brush his teeth several times a week. He has a bit of tarter on his back teeth, but hopefully more brushing and these bones will help. Otherwise, we will be off to the vet for his first dental cleaning.

  • Want to like but just don't

I have 3 dogs who all get excited for dental products. Unfortunately they turn their noses up at almost any of them that say grain free. This happens to be one of them...

  • Their 2:00PM Treat

    By on

My two young Havenese go "insane" when I mention "2:00 treat" everyday. They absolutely love the product and their teeth are looking so white and bright that i've reduced applying doggie toothpaste (which they are not so happy with) to twice a week.

  • My pups love them!

I don't in fact know if they clean teeth, but my puppies gobble them up like candy, the small is a good size for puppies:)

  • Doesn't work on "inhalers"

    By on Top 500 Contributor

My dogs absolutely love these, they both have been getting one daily after every dinner for almost 2 years. They smell like steamed broccoli, but it's a lot better than the flea collar smell dentastix give off.. and they are 1000% healthier! My only issue is that my boy barely chews his treats.. so I can really tell the difference between his teeth and my girl's (who I once witnessed chewing one grain of rice as a puppy.. she really chews them!) So, it's definitely not worth the $ unless they chew them well. If you have an inhaler, you just have to brush their teeth!

  • smells a little weird, but she likes them

    By on

These do not smell minty, they have more of a jerky kind of scent. My 10-year-old jack russell/yorkie mix takes a little extra time on these than her other mint bones rather than scarfing them down, which is nice. Do these actually brush her teeth? Not sure, since she has some bad periodontal disease (she's a rescue) she is always a bit stinky. Will stick with them for a bit longer and see how it goes!

What I love the most about these dog dental treats is that it takes a while for him to chew them.He is very excited when he sees them and knows whats coming next.
