Rated 3 out of 5 by Spin Not stable enough for indoors
The 42 inch Ex-pen is not stable enough for inside. The
plastic seam joiners that are to be attached do nothing. In fact, one came off and my puppy was chewing on it. I took them all off. The 42" height adds to the instability. Smaller dogs that can use shorter height pens might be fine.
My puppy is a three month old Spinone female about 30 some pounds. This product would be fine for outdoors as metal stakes are included. I called the company to make sure the "stabilizers" were correctly installed;they were. I was told the pen was for outside. If I had known that, I would not have planned to use it inside. I am going to stabilize with pvc pipe. I have to brace the pen with objects, so it does not shift and move all over the floor. Without additional bracing , I think she could upend it in the future. I like the door;it is convenient. The pen folds down easily and isn't too heavy. The company needs to figure out a better bracing system or advertise it for outdoor use only.

I have two Midwest exercise pens without step through doors and one with the door. I put them together outside to make a nice play yard for my Cavapoo. I have also used them in the house to block my puppy in or out of specific areas. The step through door is very handy for me and my grandchildren. I'm very happy with this product so far!!

I have two rambunctious French Bulldog brothers; and although this dog pen keeps them in they are able to wiggle the pen. I think more ground anchors would be helpful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JBgirl85 Good for dogs who are not Houdinis
This has been our go-to temporary fence for a couple of years now due to a combination of low price and ease of setup/tear down. By itself, it's really not so great as an exercise pen for anything but small dogs and puppies. However, slap a couple of these together and strategically place between two connecting walls and you've got a winner. We use them at my in-laws house when we visit as they don't have a fenced yard; also used to cordon off part of the garage.
Warning: the secret to this is the formation. These will not be secure if placed in a straight line unless posts or the like are used. These otherwise must be placed in an arc-type pattern.
Also: As is, I do not think these would stop a dog who is determined to get out. Tweaking would be needed.
Finally, this product gets 4 stars instead of 5 as I am not a big fan of the door. For instance, due to the configuration needed for my garage, the door handle ended up being on the inside of the pen.

I thought the pen was to small even for a five pound dog, no room for running.

I bought this as a Play Yard for my rabbit. It's perfect! I use it as a 24" x 72" rectangle. I clipped the door piece to the door of the wire cage and bought a 34" by 76" flat waterproof mattress pad to put under it to protect my carpet from accidents. I can now leave the cage door open and he has a great play yard. It's heavy enough and sturdy enough to stay put. Great quality! Fast shipping!

We used this for camping. I bought 2 of them and put them together to make one big pen. I have 2 dogs which are squirrel crazy and it held them for those taunting devils. I have always been impressed with MidWest products.
