  • The Perfect Crate!

    By on

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this crate! It is easy to manage, put together and break it down. It has a door on two sides (BRILLIANT) so you can face the crate in different directions to fit the confines of your home. It can grow with your dog: so you only need one crate as you enjoy your little puppy grow into the big family dog.

  • Overall decent crate

    By on

Bought the 36" crate for a Golden Retriever puppy. All in all a decent, sturdy crate - though the front door "lock" doesn't slide easily into place without pushing down on the door to line up the pin with the slot. I've checked and double checked and everything else is lined up. Would have been 5 stars if the front door lined up as well as the side door. Also, the divider does not have the spring loaded hooks like our old crate - makes it a bit trickier to put the divider in place. There is a spot on the bottom of each side of the divider that is a bit sharp - it's the rough edge of the wire. Lastly, be aware that you won't be able to use the side door if the divider is positioned on the Bought the 36" crate for a Golden Retriever puppy. • Fits my lanky dog perfectly

    By on

It took a little searching to find a crate that would fit my tall dog well! I didn't want to size up unnecessarily since it already takes up so much floor space; I just needed a crate that was a little taller than usual so he can sit up in it- this one works! I measured his sitting/standing height which happens to be exactly the height of this crate. The given measurements in the product description are accurate. It was easy to set up. A bit heavy, but I won't be moving it around so it's not a problem!

  • Great Product

This product is absolutely awesome! Very very well built, sturdy, and my puppy loves it! He will actually go lay in the kennel himself even when we are home. I LOVE the side door assembly as well.

  • Pros and cons

    By on Top 500 Contributor

PROS: One of the few 36 inch wire crates that is a full 24 inches wide and 27 inches tall. Decent gauge wire. A wide side door opening for easy entry. The side door stays open making it easy to load the dog up if using in the rear of an suv. Easy up and down. Fits like a glove in the rear of a 2017 Chevy Equinox. CONS: Pan is smaller than the crate is. It leaves good sized toe pinching gaps and moves around when in transit. I placed a blanket in the gaps to fix this. Weak and flimsy door locks. I would never leave a dog unattended without a secondary lock being used. They just do not make metal crates like they did in the old days.

  • heavy duty

    By on

This crate is great. I got the 42" for my 7 month old lab puppy to grow into. ITS HUGE. And pretty heavy for me but the quality is worth the size and weight (I know I'm pretty small so I'm sure most people can carry it just fine). After doing a lot of research, this is the best option for crate training and I'm glad I got it!

  • Great crates for big dogs

    By on

I have some of the lighter duty crates and they're ok. However, these are heavier duty than those lightweight ones. At Chewy's prices, you can get the better crate for the same cost of lighter weight ones elsewhere. We have large dogs, so we use the 27"x42" kennels. At that size, a little extra strength seems to be appropriate. We now have 3 of the crates.

  • Great price

I got this on sale. It is just like the ones I have paid double for. I have a papillon and long haired Chihuahua and needed 1 more as they both like to take naps in it during the day. This works great as a travel carrier. They were cozy but worked great taking them to vet for their check up. I love the option of the 2 doors. Perfect fit for small dogs.

  • Super helpful

I bought the 36 inch size crate for 8 week lab puppy. She will likely not fit as a full grown lab, but I didn't want the larger 42 inch right now. I keep it near back sliding door. We use it for nighttime sleeping and for when we go out while we are still potty training. She is happy to go in and never has whined or cried for more than 5 seconds after putting her in. We leave her in for no more than 2.5 hrs during day and after we've fed, watered, pottied, and exercised her. So she is tired when she goes in. It has been a life saver so I can leave and get errands done. At night it keeps her in her own space which she seems to like. She will bark when she needs to go potty which we want. I went together easily and folded back up easily. It has two slide locks on the door. Great price as well for this size crate. Shipping was one day and on time.
