The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight, breed, temperature, climate and activity level of your dog. Consult a veterinarian for specific weight recommendations.

Adult dogs should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diet Dry Dog Food, we suggest starting with the amounts recommended in the table. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature and activity of your dog. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your dog's needs.

For pregnant females: A minimal increase is needed during the first 6 weeks. Increase the amount fed up to 25% during weeks 7, 8, and 9. For lactating females: Immediately after whelping, the nutritional demand increases by 50% compared to maintenance levels. Feed in 3 equal meals per day. For working dogs: Based on the work your dog will be asked to perform, the nutritional requirements will vary accordingly. As the workload increases, the demand for protein and fat increases proportionally. Dogs in hard training will generally require twice the maintenance levels. For older dogs: As your dog begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for a less active dog.

Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!

Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Potato & Duck Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 438.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but a little pricey Within two weeks, my husband and I noticed a difference in our labs hair loss. We have been struggling to identify his allergy for a year now. We were trying this food because it was one of the only non-prescription dog foods that did not have poultry of any kind in it. After a little over a week, the hair loss seemed to stop and he even seems to be growing hair back. Although it is pricier than other dog foods we were feeding him, it is well worth it. Chewy.com has the best delivery service and makes it much more doable! I would recommend this food for anyone who has a dog with a food allergy causing hair loss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog loves it! Shelby is a picky eater, and I find that it's hard to find things for her that she likes. Plus, being a pitbull, she has skin issues common to her mix. I have to find something that both- she'll eat and love- it's not easy. I've looked around and haven't been able to find anything, but ever since I found Chewy and this product, I'm a Chewy-loyal lady! (This is a new account- but my mom has an account she buys stuff with- this one is for me to write reviews with.) We're both so much happier and we LOVE our Chewy toys, treats, and food. Don't know what I'd do without you guys. We keep the food in a sealed container, and it stays fresh the entire time it takes to go through it- which is a while. It smells good and she loves it, plus it helps with her skin. 100% would recommend, and have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My vet recommends it and my dog likes the food. My vet recommended the Natural Balance brand Dog Food. I first started with the Chicken and Sweet Potato blend which didn't agree her. I was thinking about switching to another brand when the man at the pet store suggested before doing that I should try the duck and potato mix which he found that most dogs with food sensitivities tolerate well. He also mentioned that allot dogs have difficulty with chicken. He was right it the chicken was the problem and the new mix worked out well. FYI I called natural balance and told then about the issue's I had with the chicken based food which I had to discard because the dog couldn't tolerate and since I had taken it out of its original bad and put in a large airtight plastic container I wasn't able to return it at the store. The send me a coupon for a free bag of food any size and a couple smaller coupons. They were very nice and the coupons arrived in just a few days. Again, as far as the duck and potato mix seems to work out well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great taste, good ingredients My vet recommended a change to this brand dog food and it cleared up a problem we were having with our 2 -6 year old cocker spaniels who after some 6 years sleeping in a crate at night started messing in it. After the change in food, the problem stopped, which really surprised me as I had tried many other suggestions..none of which worked. Chewy has the best prices and their customer service in terriffic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped tremendously with my Golden's allergies (yeast) My Golden Retriever has terrible yeast allergies involving his ears and feet. Numerous costly visits to the vet and only temporary relief. My husband heard about this food from a seat mate on a flight and thought what do we have to loose. Skeptically we gave it a try, we thought that if we saw results it would take at least 3-4 weeks...SHOCKED...we saw results in 1 week and are excited to see what the next few weeks has to bring. Not only is he not constantly shaking his head, but his fat self has already started to shed some of his excess weight. We are giving him a little less than the recommended amount because of his weight and it's working. We are also not giving him any additional treats, so that we see true results, no other ingredients from other products can affect the food trial. If or when we do start treats back up, it will only be freeze dried chicken, with no additives, most of the other treats are just like feeding them junk food. We are so pleased with this food, that we are starting our other dog on it as well.
