Haven't had to use this product yet but I'm glad we have it as a neighborhood skunk keeps attempting to be our dog's friend. Thought it would be a good idea to have on hand "just in case." Really don't look forward to having to use this product but I'm basing my purchase on previous positive reviews hoping it will work well

This is the best stuff I've used to take the skunk smell out of the dogs and house. If you live in an area with skunks you should keep a big bottle of this under the kitchen sink. That's where mine is. Oh yeah, works on cats too.

I have not used it yet and hope I never have to. I like to keep it on hand though because we live out in the country where there seems to be more skunks. I have been told that it works very well though.

by Lelaini Darn skunk smell!
Truth is, skunk spray soaks down to the pores and the smoky smell lasts for months.. Maybe even up to a year depending how often the dog swims. When they first get sprayed, the best remedy is not tomatoe juice or vinegar. It's a careful mix of water, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. It stops the reaction of enzymes in the skunk spray. THEN for remaining washes, use Natures Miracle! Let it sit for the full five minutes! Of course the smell will always come back when the dog gets wet, but when dry it's much better. I would recommend this product to help breakdown the smoky smell that will still linger even months later.

The key to successfully ridding your pet of skunk spray odor is to follow the directions. Keep in mind that skunk spray is an oily liquid which clings and permeates. DON'T just wet your pet's coat with the product - thoroughly saturate it down to the skin (I used almost an entire 32 oz. bottle on my small Jack Russell when he was recently sprayed face-on). DON'T skimp on the setting time - let the product stay on the pet for the recommended 5 minutes (I let it work on the above JR for 8 with no skin irritation afterwards). DON'T just rinse off - thoroughly rinse product from pet; follow with a thorough good shampooing, then another thorough rinse. You will be very pleased with the results. Admittedly, when the pet gets wet, some of the skunk odor does return, but to a very slight degree. You can always do another round of the Skunk Odor Remover, which will eliminate even that residual odor. Highly recommended. Chewy.com has extremely fast shipping and a very good price. I always keep at least one full bottle on hand per dog (plus an extra) as we live in the country where wildlife is abundant.

by Maggiesmom Worked but had to repeat - skunk odor on dog
This product mostly worked. Three baths, two with this product and she still has lingering skunk odor in certain areas. Was hoping to use it on the yard, too. Did not see instruction on the bottle for that. Any suggestions??
