  • A Questionable Ingredient!

    By on

All the Nature's Instinct Canned Foods contain this: Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide Sometimes listed as EDDI, it appears to be used as an iodine supplement. It may react with sulfates and release free iodine. Calcium Iodate (currently in many pet foods) is indicated as the most stable iodine supplement and would appear to be a better choice of iodine supplements." (From Dogfood Advisor website) So one would wonder why Nature's Instinct chose this cheaper version for an iodine supplement. I think I will go back to Ziwi Peak. Its more costly but take a look at their dogfood ingredient list which imo is 75% richer in value for your pet. With NO questionable ingredients!

It's hard to find canned food that my pit mix really likes but he absolutely gobbles up the duck and rabbit flavors. Excellent food that is dog approved! Win win!

  • Packaging and issue

I have been ordering the Limited Ingredient version of this product for about 7 months - love the product and the difference it has made for my dog. However, this product has the exact same label minus the "limited ingredient" above the duck formula line and although I'm sure the quality is great, I did not catch this when I placed my reorder so I now have a case of food I cannot use.

I was very impressed, received dog food in 24 hours from placing order. The food does have a bad smell to it. Everytime my dog eats it the food comes back up. Expiration date is good.

  • Great Food

    By on

My dogs love this food. I feel good about giving them Nature's Variety Instinct because it is grain free. Too much grain is unhealthy for dogs and induces weight gain. With this food it's healthy and they enjoy it.

  • Two my three dogs love this food

I have three dogs and two cats in my home. Two of my dogs and both cats very much love the duck flavor canned dog food. One dog prefers the rabbit flavor. None of the pets show any stomach sensitivity or allergy.

My 10 year old sheltie, who has so many allergies, is doing super on this food. Itching is better and his skin & coat have improved 100%. To say I am thrilled he is finally getting better is an understatement. Despite being very expensive, he is more than worth it to me.
