Transforming the
Lives of Pets

Nature's Variety Instinct believes that everything we feed our pets should be real, whole, pure and as close to its natural state as possible. They are on a mission to transform the lives of pets and make it possible for more people to feed their own pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw.

Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw
in Every Recipe

Instinct is on a mission to transform the lives of pets through the pure, real nutrition of raw. Their belief in the power of raw inspires every food they make. Instinct has carefully crafted their foods to provide easy ways to incorporate raw into your pet's diet.

Real Food for Real Nutrition

Instinct believes protein should primarily come from pure animal sources. Animal protein provides all the essential amino acids, which vegetable protein alone can't provide.

Instinct never uses fillers like grain, gluten, corn, wheat and soy, because they think every ingredient should have a specific nutritional and functional purpose.

Real meats, whole fruits and vegetables and turmeric are a few of the ingredients Instinct uses to provide naturally derived nutrients and enzymes for overall wellness.

The Mindful Choices Instinct Makes

Every Instinct recipe shows the careful, deliberate approach they take in crafting their food. They use only real ingredients, and you'll never find artificial colors, flavors or preservatives or fillers like corn, wheat or soy.

Well-balanced food source that contains fiber, vitamins, minerals and beta-carotene.

Provide a complete amino acid profile, including essential nutrients for optimal health.

An all-natural hypoallergenic starch that is highly digestible, grain-free and gluten-free.

Helps maintain the proper balance of acid and alkaline throughout the body.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Packaging and issue I have been ordering the Limited Ingredient version of this product for about 7 months - love the product and the difference it has made for my dog. However, this product has the exact same label minus the "limited ingredient" above the duck formula line and although I'm sure the quality is great, I did not catch this when I placed my reorder so I now have a case of food I cannot use. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fast Delivery I was very impressed, received dog food in 24 hours from placing order. The food does have a bad smell to it. Everytime my dog eats it the food comes back up. Expiration date is good. February 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I liked it! I thought this food was an excellent choice for my picky 15 year old female daughter who has teeth problems and need to switch to soft food but after eating it for a few weeks she decided that she did not want it. I thought it smelled delicious an it looked yummy January 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by shadow loves it excellent food . Just like all their products . price is great. January 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The ingredients are just what I was looking for. I was looking for a wet dog food that has ingredients that would be healthy for my two dogs. After researching the ingredients in Grain-Free Duck Formula, I was very pleased with what I found. One ingredient I was looking to NOT find was carrageenan. Carrageenan is being used as a food additive in dog foods and there is some controversy regarding its long term biological safety. Nature's Variety does not contain carrageenan and that initially sold me on this dog food. After feeding it to my two dogs, they also approve. June 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dog loves this food!! I already have my golden on a turkey with no grain or potato dry food added some wellness core canned food with not much luck. He is bored with just the dry so I wanted to try a meat that would be easier on his stomach because he has bad allergies. I have been adding this wet food to his dry with some oats and fish oil to help his coat and he licks the bowl clean. On the wellness he wouldn't finish all his food. His coat has gotten better and he seems like a happy pup. I will continue to use this product : ) December 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent substitution for: vet prescription(by-products-urinary support). My sheltie has been on a vet. prescription for urinary stones for too long now. I was very concerned about the amount of by-products in this urinary support food. I researched on line and found this product. I have had her on it since 2/10 and so far her urinary Ph level is fine, her hair is softer, she is more energetic, and she can't wait until I serve her twice a day. I appreciate having this alternative food to feeding my beloved pet those by-products. Thank you Chewy ! :0) February 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by OBLIGATE CARNIVORES This is the next best thing to feeding raw food. Cats are carnivores; they are not designed to eat baked goods, grain or starch. Natures Variety Instinct is the only canned 95% meat cat food which does not contain carageenan, used as a thickening agent and known to cause ulcerative colitis...or guar gum (when did a kitty in the wild get either of those in a mouse or bird?) Thank you Mr C for selling it at an affordable price March 21, 2012
