Instinct never uses fillers like grain, gluten, corn, wheat and soy, because they think every ingredient should have a specific nutritional and functional purpose.

Real meats, whole fruits and vegetables and turmeric are a few of the ingredients Instinct uses to provide naturally derived nutrients and enzymes for overall wellness.

The Mindful Choices Instinct Makes

Every Instinct recipe shows the careful, deliberate approach they take in crafting their food. They use only real ingredients, and you'll never find artificial colors, flavors or preservatives or fillers like corn, wheat or soy.

Well-balanced food source that contains fiber, vitamins, minerals and beta-carotene.

Provide a complete amino acid profile, including essential nutrients for optimal health.

An all-natural hypoallergenic starch that is highly digestible, grain-free and gluten-free.

Helps maintain the proper balance of acid and alkaline throughout the body.

Nature's Variety Instinct Grain-Free Venison Formula Canned Dog Food is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from NVI Venison Venison is a favorite of my dogs. I chose Nature's Variety Instinct and one other brand as the two I would feed. NVI always provides for a healthy addition to kibble or fed straight from the can. Quality is important to me and NV provides that along with enticing aroma and no fillers or questionable ingredients. The cans are filled with solid meat and little broth, not the sloppy mess I have found with some other brands. To me, the price of quality food is not the most important factor. My dogs enjoying their meal and looking and feeling good are my main objectives. I definitely recommend NVI Venison or any of their other meat varieties. Neither you or your dog will be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from would love to order this again but it has pork.... Because I read the name as "Venison - grain free" and not the fine print, I didn't see it also included "pork". So I ordered this even though it is more expensive (I love my doggie! :). It was only afterwards that I realized that it also contains "pork" which is unhealthy for humans and pets so we won't be ordering this again :( Had I read the finer ingredients list I would have also saved $50 on the case I ordered -so for now as long as Instinct doesn't add pork to their chicken line, we will just stick to the chicken by Instinct (as it contains only chicken, no pork). Otherwise, I like this brand as it aims to be healthy with no fillers, dyes, etc. Just a thought, if the venison tends to be "dry" and less fatty and this is why they added the pork, why not add coconut oil (which has innumerable health benefits or even chicken livers instead of the pork)???

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instinct canned food has changed everything! When our Aussie went to a grain free diet, we began to experiment with a number of Grain Free brands. While there are others out there, for us the solution was the Instinct. A rather finicky eater has developed a whole new attitude about meal times. The allergic dermatitis we've been battling for a year has basically healed in the month that she has been on the canned Instinct. We've noticed a change in stools, less hair loss, less bloating and gas as well as a generally more playful and energetic spirit along with weight loss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Food I have two dogs and no other products have been able to address all their needs in a complete and holistic way in which Nature's Variety has. The reason is because these foods were developed to meet the natural needs of canines and truly nourish their systems. The benison is by far the favorite in our household, though we do use a rotation of their products. The one and only suggestion I have is to expand the Instinct dry kibble line with a red meat like venison and/or bison and a pork formula. This food is high in protein with super high quality ingredients. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dog food!! This food is the best!! My dogs love it and it is great for their allergies and/or skin issues. Pork liver is fine for allergies as it is not known to cause any problems that way. I'm a bit concerned as far as feeding the organ meat to my cushinoid dog. Still, pork is not the main ingredient so I would continue to give my dogs until more information on organ meats and Cushing's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems healthy and my dog likes it My dog likes this. I mix it with Nature's Variety dry dog food. I should say that my dog isn't a picky eater. She seems to digest this well. Her poops seem a little firmer and smaller, which is better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good food for sensitive dogs. We have been looking for a food that had no grain or too many carbs as our dog has yeast infections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SHIBA INU LOVES THE VENISON & RABBIT My Shiba really likes this food and seems to be thriving on the formula. The venison does become quite 'solid' when refrigerated overnight. I feed only a partial can for breakfast. However, when serving the next day, mash a bit and then zap in the microwave for 5 SECONDS just to take the chill off and loosen it up. Mia has no problem eating it this way... DON'T over warm!!!
