My dogs love this dog food. It's a great dog food and it's perfect for all life stages. We have a small dog and medium dog and it's perfect for both.

I keep buying this food for years. My yellow lab has allergic reactions to grains. Before I found this food she was a gigantic yeast factory. She got itchy, broke out in hot spots and her ears got caked up. Most other grain free dog foods are mostly potatoes. Not this one. This is one of the best foods out there and it keeps the yeast at bay. I feed her this food in the afternoon. She gets one of the raw patties (also from Nature's Variety "Instinct") in the morning.

My yellow lab loves it. She used to get allergies before we switched her to this. We also added Nupro Gold powder supplement and her allergies are gone!

All 3 of my dogs would not eat this food. My vet had told me to get nature's variety instinct. Having 3 dogs I bought the 25lbs bag. So maybe I'll take it to a shelter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MNDonna Allergies no more!
My dog has suffered from allergies since he was a pup. We were told by the vet we needed to change his protein type. That didn't help. Another vet said the same thing but also said he has environmental allergies too. After much research I found that yeast overgrowth on dogs will produce false positives on environmental allergy tests. I also found that dogs with too much yeast must NEVER have starches, gluten and carbohydrates in their food because they turn to sugar which is what causes too much yeast on the skin and in the ears as well as internally. Every dog food I looked at contained some type of starch or carbohydrate or gluten. This was the only food that I could afford for my 110 lb beast of a dog. IT WORKED !!! He is no longer suffering and we are no longer suffering having to live with a stinky yeasty dog! The only other thing that would have worked for him was a raw diet or to cook for him but I didn't have the time for either of those options.

I was trying to get all 3 of my fur babies onto one base kibble (I add in meats, yogurt, supplements, etc) when I tried this food. They all loved it, however, one of them had an allergic reaction to the tapioca. I also have one furry baby who's had a bladder stone problem. He developed this a year ago and I have just taken him off a very low quality "prescription diet". I chose this food because it was grain and gluten free, and had higher quality ingredients. I've done much more research and have found another kibble to use as a base, that does not have tapioca or high oxalate ingredients and is lower in carbs. I add in high quality meats, etc, to provide a high protein, low carb diet, so I prefer organic fruits and free-range poultry or grass-fed meats. I also soak the dry kibble in organic, low-sodium broth to provide moisture and make it easier to digest. This kibble did not expand like a sponge when it was wet and made a nice, thin "gravy" for my pooches. It's reasonably priced too. It just didn't work for my situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rowdyfan711 Raw Diet Results in Dry Kibble
We love the raw diet idea, but living in Florida, the local pet food stores carry very little refrigerated options and mail order is not an option, due to the hot summers and even though ice packs are used, still shows up warm. So after more investigation, we tried this brand and we are getting same results as the refrigerated raw food but in a more convenient dry kibble.
