Real Food for Real Nutrition

PURE ANIMAL PROTEIN SOURCES

Instinct believes protein should primarily come from pure animal sources. Animal protein provides all the essential amino acids, which vegetable protein alone can't provide.

FREE FROM FILLERS

Instinct never uses fillers like grain, gluten, corn, wheat and soy, because they think every ingredient should have a specific nutritional and functional purpose.

REAL BENEFITS

Real meats, whole fruits and vegetables and turmeric are a few of the ingredients Instinct uses to provide naturally derived nutrients and enzymes for overall wellness.

The Mindful Choices Instinct Makes

Every Instinct recipe shows the careful, deliberate approach they take in crafting their food. They use only real ingredients, and you'll never find artificial colors, flavors or preservatives or fillers like corn, wheat or soy.

BUTTERNUT SQUASH

Well-balanced food source that contains fiber, vitamins, minerals and beta-carotene.

CHICKEN EGGS

Provide a complete amino acid profile, including essential nutrients for optimal health.

TAPIOCA

An all-natural hypoallergenic starch that is highly digestible, grain-free and gluten-free.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Helps maintain the proper balance of acid and alkaline throughout the body.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good food but didn't make the fav's list My dog loves this brand but isn't a huge fan of the salmon flavor. He'll eat it but doesn't jump for joy like he does with other flavors. We'll pass on this one going forward. July 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The dog loves it. Our dog is a finicky eater, and he loves this brand. PLEASE keep stocking it. June 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Instinct is Awesome Food and Brings Us Back to Our Wolf Days Tres Amigos here - Frodo (13, Aussie), Willow (9, Golden Retriever), Mary (1.5, Pyr/Husky). We started eating Instinct about 6 weeks ago, when our mom went shopping for grain free food. She also wanted non-irritating ingredients, since Frodo has inflammatory bowel disease. She's tried about everything she can, including lots of different foods, medications from our doctor, and still, he lost about 10 pounds and had alot of bleeding and pain. While he still has bleeding, Frodo has started to gain weight again, and we know that Instinct is a big part of it. He thinks it's delicious and gets very excited when she pops the can. In fact, all of us try to steal the empty cans from the garbage can so we can lick off every delicious juice remnant. But, back to why this is awesome food: with Frodo's IBD, he gets really constipated. Instinct is helping immensely with that. When mom pops the can and gives us our food, we can see the different ingredients that are in it, and it doesn't SMELL like dog food, she says. Instinct Salmon is also really juicy and soft, so it makes it really easy to eat. Instinct is one of the top ranked canned dog foods, not just on Chewy.com, because of the quality of its ingredients. No corn meal, no fillers, no chicken fillers. The salmon is also helping all of our coats, but mostly, we love this because it's helping sweet Frodo the Aussie. Thank you Chewy for carrying it, because your autoship makes it easy (our local pet store does carry it, but with the autoship discount, buying from Chewy.com makes it less expensive). Instinct is most definitely Tres Amigos tested and Tres Amigos approved. May 26, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cats like it My dog liked the tiny cans. But not this. I think the larger cans are very fishy. May 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My dog enjoys this ! I was pleased to decide getting this wet food for my sensitive intestines rescued girl. This one is not runny which some wet food are. Smell is also tasty. Her poop is regular, this wet food is sum up. I highly recommend this May 17, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not happy with Product I didn't care for the Product at all doesn't compare to the Fromm Product I use to order. May 17, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by very picky dog will eat My 13 yr.old french bulldog will eat this consistently-all other foods he will stop eating after a time. January 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nature's Variety Grain-free Salmon Yes I feed my cats canned Nature's Variety "dog" food. It is the exact same recipe. It probably comes out of the same kettle, and Nature's Variety has verified it also. It is cheaper than the same stuff that they put into the cat food cans. I did a lot of research into adding soft food to our cats diets before choosing one to fit our budget. Nature's Variety won hands down. One deciding factor that made me choose this brand over another was the fact that Nature's Variety does not add careggean which most soft pet food does. (Google "careggean" and research it.) I hope that never changes. And, the cats love it! It is a bit pricey but doesn't break the bank like other premium canned foods. November 17, 2014
