Nature's Variety Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Duck Meal Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Food My dog is on a single protein diet and I tried this brand when it was on sale. I liked it because it contained no potatoes or sweet potatoes (common ingredients in grain free diets) that my dog is allergic too. Also they did not try to sneak in Turkey or chicken fat/broth as a lot of Duck formulas do. My dog liked it and ate it just fine. I did go with another comparable brand after they raised the price back up but would have no qualms about feeding it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save on Vet Bills!!! I have an Alaskan Malamute, she's about 85lbs and the vet said that she was going to have to go on antibiotics for the rest of her life. I had already been looking at foods and we had tried several good brands but it turns out she's allergic or intolerant to chicken, eggs, turkey, and lamb. This was a money saver, plain and simple. You think the cost of the food is high (it is, at a bag per month) but when you compare it to a $150.00 vet visit with meds very month or every other month, plus the distress she was in...it was literally the runs going on 5 days and she had one bowl of this food and she was solid the next morning, we were amazed. If you think your baby has allergies this is one of the best single protein/carb foods out there. If you just can't afford the cost of this food then my next best suggestion would be Zignature. She now gets a mix of the Instinct Duck and the Zignature Trout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, the right dog food! My one year old German Shepherd has had GI problems since I got him at ten weeks of age. This dog food is miraculous. Without boring you with all the details, I put him on another brand's limited ingredient diet when he was about six months old. This helped tremendously. However, his stools were still very loose, very smelly and he went at least five times a day. I started to worry that he was missing something nutritionally when I researched his gross coprophagia habit. Since putting him on this food, he has regular stools, goes only twice a day and the nasty smell is gone as is his coprophagia! I highly recommend this food. Yes, it is more expensive but worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tasty, stool-firming food I've tried a number of foods to try to reduce the very soft stools of my dog. Several high quality natural foods didn't do the trick. Next stop - a limited ingredient food. I wasn't looking for a grain-free but I did a lot of research and this food received so many high ratings. We started with the lamb and then added the duck for variety. My dog loves the taste and the poops are now firm. Sometimes too firm which seems to be a side effect of any grain-free food. So a few spoonfuls of pureed pumpkin a day and we're all happy. No more daily butt baths:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is excellent for a dog who is allergic to many foods Our chocolate lab is 3 years old and was to the point of having no hair on both of her sides, around mouth, and lost patches other places and having constant ear infections so after having her tested for allergies we ordered this food and has she ever changed for the better! Her fur is back beautiful and shiny, no ear infections, and she loves the food. Most dog foods has flaxseeds in it and that's one of many things our lab is allergic to. This product does not and one she can eat! Chewy is a top notch business who has the quickest delivery I've experienced, sometimes we've received our order in two days. Great company and will always order from them! Thank You

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Service!!! This is the 2nd time that I have ordered from you. So far my experience of your service is next to none and I highly recommend doing business with chewy.com. I am not being paid to say this is just really nice to have the instinct dog food that I like to feed my dog delivered right to our door. Besides to find it locally is pretty tough because it's a premium, premium dog food. So I highly recommend chewy and I will continue doing business with them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Pitty My poor 5-month APBT was scratching constantly and losing hair in patches around her body. I tried a grain-free food, which helped, but not completely, so I went to this fully limited-ingredient food. Her hair completely grew back in a week/week-and-a-half, and she is so soft and shiny :) She also doesn't scratch anymore. Our other dog, who can tolerate regular food, steals a few bites from time to time and he loves it so much he doesn't want to touch his normal food. Sorry, buddy. I can't afford to have both of you on the special food ;) Highly recommend this for dogs prone to skin issues. No need for additional fish oil or probiotics, or expensive Rx shampoos at the vet. Just get this food :)
