Instinct never uses fillers like grain, gluten, corn, wheat and soy, because they think every ingredient should have a specific nutritional and functional purpose.

Real meats, whole fruits and vegetables and turmeric are a few of the ingredients Instinct uses to provide naturally derived nutrients and enzymes for overall wellness.

The Mindful Choices Instinct Makes

Every Instinct recipe shows the careful, deliberate approach they take in crafting their food. They use only real ingredients, and you'll never find artificial colors, flavors or preservatives or fillers like corn, wheat or soy.

Supplies fatty acids that nourish the skin. It is also highly digestible and easily utilized for energy.

Made from green tea leaves that have been carefully harvested and ground. It provides great taste and aroma.

An all-natural hypoallergenic starch that is highly digestible, grain-free and gluten-free.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 34 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally, the right dog food! My one year old German Shepherd has had GI problems since I got him at ten weeks of age. This dog food is miraculous. Without boring you with all the details, I put him on another brand's limited ingredient diet when he was about six months old. This helped tremendously. However, his stools were still very loose, very smelly and he went at least five times a day. I started to worry that he was missing something nutritionally when I researched his gross coprophagia habit. Since putting him on this food, he has regular stools, goes only twice a day and the nasty smell is gone as is his coprophagia! I highly recommend this food. Yes, it is more expensive but worth every penny. October 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really love the Nature's Variety Instinct LID's I switch my dogs diet between the three varieties available. Have had no digestive problems at all. I switch to another variety each order so that the boys get some variety in their diets. If you are looking for a quality diet with few ingredients and no grain, give this a try. We've been using it for years and getting it on a schedule from Chewy really saves money and time. August 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality! This food saved both my dogs and my cat. My cats diabetes has subsided. My dogs were always very lean and this filled them out and made them look healthier. They look forward to their meals. August 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by High Quality dog food High quality dog food. My Boston loves this food. Easily digestible August 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Save on Vet Bills!!! I have an Alaskan Malamute, she's about 85lbs and the vet said that she was going to have to go on antibiotics for the rest of her life. I had already been looking at foods and we had tried several good brands but it turns out she's allergic or intolerant to chicken, eggs, turkey, and lamb. This was a money saver, plain and simple. You think the cost of the food is high (it is, at a bag per month) but when you compare it to a $150.00 vet visit with meds very month or every other month, plus the distress she was in...it was literally the runs going on 5 days and she had one bowl of this food and she was solid the next morning, we were amazed. If you think your baby has allergies this is one of the best single protein/carb foods out there. If you just can't afford the cost of this food then my next best suggestion would be Zignature. She now gets a mix of the Instinct Duck and the Zignature Trout. December 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Pitty My poor 5-month APBT was scratching constantly and losing hair in patches around her body. I tried a grain-free food, which helped, but not completely, so I went to this fully limited-ingredient food. Her hair completely grew back in a week/week-and-a-half, and she is so soft and shiny :) She also doesn't scratch anymore. Our other dog, who can tolerate regular food, steals a few bites from time to time and he loves it so much he doesn't want to touch his normal food. Sorry, buddy. I can't afford to have both of you on the special food ;) Highly recommend this for dogs prone to skin issues. No need for additional fish oil or probiotics, or expensive Rx shampoos at the vet. Just get this food :) December 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality Product While I can't offer you a first hand account of nature's variety's taste, flavor profile, texture, or desirability, I can, with confidence, state that my dog's love it. I have two (2) samoyed puppies (6 mo. & 9 wks.) and they become remarkably excited prior to feeding. While that, in itself, is not remarkable, I have never quite seen the level of anticipation of receiving food. I had prior had five (5) samoyed's who, by history, can be particular around food. Nature's Variety has consistently been well received by both of my current puppies and I expect that they will continue to enjoy this brand going forward. I strongly recommend this dog food. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great part of a rotational diet My three dogs love this food. One of my dogs has severe food allergies. It can be difficult to find food he can and will eat that is wholesome and isn't too expensive to feed to all three dogs. March 18, 2016
